This afternoon the funeral took place under the auspices of the Chinese Masonic fraternity, of which deceased was an honored member and an officer of high station. In life he eked out a precarious existence by rag-picking, etc., but when death relieved him of his suffering his bruised and battered clay was the object of the highest reverence. The funeral procession consisted of eight or ten carriages, etc., headed by the commissary wagon (carry food to propitiate the evil spirits) from which towered a red flag (looking suspiciously like the Democratic bandanna), and bringing up the rear was a carry-all conveying the musicians, who kept up an unearthly din until the cemetery was reached. Deceased was a member of the Gee company, a native of Canton, and aged 58 years.
