Paxton, the banker, and Miss Bessie Emerson, of New York, took place, last Thursday, at the residence of the bride's sister, Mrs. Warfield, at Healdsburg, Cal. Miss Emerson, who spent last winter in San Francisco, is a sister of Mrs. M.H. Warfield. Mr. Paxton is junior member of the Front street, San Francisco, fruit and commission house of George W. Meade & Co. The ceremony was performed at noon by the Rev. Mr. Burnett, at Healdsburg. It was a very quiet affair, only those being present who were closely connected with the family. The family, the officiating minister, Mr. Morgan Hill, of San Francisco, and Mr. Polhemus, of San Jose, were alone present. The bride wore her traveling suit, and immediately after the congratulations which followed the ceremony, a collation was partaken of and the young couple took the afternoon train the same day for San Francisco. The presents were of great beauty and value, one being a check for $20,000. Mr. and Mrs. Paxton are now in Los Angeles, upon their return will be at home at the Palace, San Francisco.
