His death occurred about 1 o'clock this morning at the state hospital, where he was resided for the last three months. His death, it is said, was due to a general breakdown, brought on by financial reverses. Mr. Parker was born in St. Charles, Ill., November 20, 1850, and came to Nevada more than 30 years ago. For many years he had made his home at Cherry Creek, near Ely, in White Pine county. In 1880 he went from his county to the state assembly. Later he served as a member of the board of commissioners of White Pine county. He was a member of Cherry Creek lodge of Masons and of the Scottish Rite and Shrine in Reno. The body has been taken to the undertaking parlors of Groesbeck and O'Brien. The arrangements for the funeral have not been made, but the services undoubtedly will be held under the auspices of the Masonic lodges.
