He had been sick about two days and was attended by Matty, the wife of George Adams, who was present when he died. Pete lived in Hamilton most of the time since that part of the county was settled by white men following the discovery of rich silver deposits of Treasure hill in 1867. He was an old man at that time and was probably between 90 and 100 years old when he died.
