Farrel Van Workman



Farrel Van Workman our beloved Father, Husband, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend

passed away at his home April 27, 2007, he will be greatly missed.



Farrel was born in Steptoe, Nevada August 7, 1928 to parents Gilbert and Rose

Workman; he was a graduate of White Pine High School. Farrel enjoyed his job at

Nevada Northern Railroad for 38 years where he retired at age 55. He also worked

part-time as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service; he was a

member of the Odd Fellows for more than 20 years, as well as a member of the LDS

Church. When Farrel wasn't working he enjoyed bowling with his many friends

where he had the nickname "Luke". He was a very devoted husband and father. He

was preceded in death by his son Danny Farrel Workman, his father Gilbert

Workman, mother Rose Lennox, sister Rita Schaefer and granddaughter, Shelly

Martin who will now show him the way.



Farrel is survived by his wife of 59 years Emma Workman, daughters Vana Workman

and Karen (Victor) McQueen, a step daughter Faye Barnes,  a son Dennis (Sandy)

Workman and a stepson Carl O'Dell. He is survived by several grandchildren,

great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.



A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 1, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

at the Mountain Vista Chapel with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be in the Ely City Cemetery.



Pallbearers: Jim Assuras, Carl O'Dell, Mike Martin, Casey Lewis, Josh Lewis, and

Victor McQueen. Honorary Pallbearers: Blake and Blair Davis, Ron Schaefer Jr.,

Daren Schaefer, Ron Schaefer Sr., and Allen Schaefer.
