He was born in Albany and was the son of the late James and Rhoda Swift Bolton Sr. James had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He had operated J. Bolton Plumbing and Heating for many years in Albany. He enjoyed woodworking, any type of mechanical repairs and restoring boats. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Audrey Stanton Bolton; and his son, James E. Bolton. He is also survived by several cousins. Mrs. Crawley was a graduate of East Chatham High School and was of the Roman Catholic faith. In her earlier years, she was a homemaker while raising her family. She was a teacher's aide at the Walter B. Howard Elementary School in New Lebanon for many years retiring in 1993. She love gardening, bird watching, tag sales and shopping with her daughter. Survivors include her husband Frank; her children Daniel A. (Robin) Crawley of East Nassau, Gary E. (Anna) Crawley of Mich., Doreen E. (David) Kilventon of Stephentown, Robert F. Ferguson, 74, of Sloansville, died Saturday, July 31, 2004 at his residence, after a long illness. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Ira and Susie Mae Furman Ferguson. Lester had resided in Sloansville for over 20 years and for a brief time on Slingerlands. He was a plumber with DA Bennett Company for many years before operating L.S. Ferguson Plumbing and Heating in Sloansville. Along with his wife, Lester raised toy dogs and golden retrievers. He is the beloved husband of 50 years to Catherine E. Oddy Ferguson; father of Carl Ferguson of Malone; grandfather of Jeremy Ferguson of Voorheesville and Gary Ferguson of Cohoes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. SOUTH GLENS FALLS Gail V. Kelly, 57, passed away Friday, July 30, 2004 at Albany Medical Center, following a long illness. Born June 13, 1947 in Granville, she was the daughter of Emerson and Jane (Roberts) Parker. She was a graduate of Granville Central School. She received her associate of science degree from Hudson Valley Community College in 1966 as a dental hygienist, her bachelor of science degree from Russell Sage in 1978 and her master of science degree from Russell Sage in 1983. She worked as a public health educator in Syracuse for Onondaga County Health Department. She taught Jr. High Health, General Science and Biology at Granville Central School, Brittenkill Central School and in the Hudson City School District. She enjoyed travel, golf, cross country skiing and boating. Survivors include her mother of Middle Granville; her husband of 37 years, Martin H. Kelly of South Glens Falls; several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church Street, Granville with the Rev. Robert Flower officiating. Krause, Edward Adam FORT ANN Edward Adam Krause, 95, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at the Glens Falls Hospital. Born October 9, 1908 in Elmira, N.Y., son of Frederick and Albertina (Leasner) Krause. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. Edward married Phyllis Wright in 1947 and they made their home in Kingsbury, N.Y. He retired from Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Comstock after 35 years. He attended First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls and gave both his time and assets to those less fortunate. He was member of the American Legion and former member of several archaeological associations. Edward also had been a trustee of the Fort Ann Cemetery. He enjoyed local history, reading, music, electronics and photography. Survivors include his wife Phyllis of 57 years; two daughters, Jean Roberts of Hudson Falls and Jo Ann Menzer and her husband Richard of Guilderland; two grandchildren, Joel Roberts of Granville, N.Y. and Erin Menzer of Guilderland. He was predeceased by his son, Edward Arthur Krause. A private interment service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Fort Ann Cemetery. Born in Troy, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Frances Lyons Jones. She was raised in Green Island and lived there for several years until moving to Watervliet. Charlotte was a 1969 graduate of Shaker High School. She was married to her beloved husband Roland on July 11, 1970 and has resided in Cohoes with him since. She was formerly employed by K-Mart in Latham and, for the last nine years, was currently employed by the Holiday Inn on Wolf Road in Colonie as the inspector of the housekeeping department. Charlotte enjoyed camping with her family and friends and loved vacationing with her family in Cape Cod and Maine. Survivors in addition to her husband include her cherished son, Brian M. Loiselle of Cohoes; and her sisters, Patricia A. Mossey of Latham and Leanne F. Jones of Watervliet. Moira Patton Miller, 70, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, formerly of Scotia, passed away at her Barefoot Bay, Fla. home on Thursday, July 22, 2004. Moira was born and raised in Manchester, England, where she trained as a nurse and midwife until immigrating to America in 1958. Before marrying in 1963, she worked at various hospitals in New York City. After moving to Scotia in 1965, she was a longtime employee of St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady, working as a registered nurse until retiring to Florida in 1992. She proudly earned U.S. citizenship in December 1985. She is survived by her husband, David Miller of Palm Bay, Fla.; her sons, Daniel Miller of Brunswick, Maine and Timothy Miller of Schenectady; her brother Tony Patton of Manchester, England; beloved granddaughters Kaela and Emily; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews in the UK and Canada. Morelli, Jr., 74, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2004 at Burdette Hospital, in Cape May Court House, N.J. Al was born in Schenectady on November 29, 1929, the son of the late Albert and Elvira Pacelli Morelli, Sr. and graduated from Nott Terrace High School, class of 1947. He served in the US Air Force, stationed in Texas. Al was the founder and owner of the former ALCOBRA and ARKA General Construction Companies on Foster Avenue in Schenectady. He was a senior manager for Beltrone Construction Company in Albany. Al was also owner of the former Morelli's Restaurant in Albany and the Erie Barge in Schenectady. Al left Schenectady in the early eighties to serve as business consultant in association with his son for Morelli Masonry and General Construction Enterprises in Cape May Court House in New Jersey. Al was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge in Wildwood, N.J. Al was a special gift to all who knew him. He was a man who enjoyed life and people. He was kind, generous and possessed a sense of humor appreciated by all. People gravitated to his warmth and wise counsel. He was a friend to all, especially those in need and he never met a person he didn't like. Al became the Mayor any place he visited or resided. He loved cooking for his friends and going to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He leaves behind many devoted friends, including his card buddies; the gang at The Apollo and Alfies, and Dorothy and Paula (Sparky) Negri who will miss him dearly. Al was a truly unique man who with a sense of style and class did it all, His Way, for this, we all loved and admired him. For what is a man worth, if not? Survivors include his loving sons, Albert E. Morelli, III and his wife, Darlene of Wildwood Crest, N.J. and Richard Morelli of Schenectady; a sister, AnnaMae and her husband, Tom Woods of Glenville. Al was the former husband of Catherine Beltrone McClune of Albany. Murphy, Marian Elizabeth SCHENECTADY Marian Elizabeth Murphy, age 71, a resident of Flower Street in Schenectady, died on Friday evening, July 30, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany following a long illness. Mrs. Murphy was born in North Bennington, Vt. on September 3, 1932 and was the daughter of the late John Murphy and the former Marguerite Mooney. Her education was received in North Bennington, where she was a graduate of North Bennington High School. She married Joseph L. Murphy on July 11, 1953 at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington. In earlier years, Mrs. Murphy had been employed at the General Electric Company in Schenectady. She was a former manager for Dunkin' Donuts in Schenectady and more recently a sales manager with Video World in Schenectady. She is a communicant of Sacred Heart St. Columba's Catholic Church and a member of the VFW Post 357, Women's Auxiliary. Mrs. Murphy's main interests were her family, flowers, gardening and VFW activities. Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband Joseph Sr. of Schenectady; three sons, Thomas J. Murphy of Chesapeake, Va., John F. Murphy of Vancouver, W.Va. and Joseph L. Murphy Jr. of Schenectady; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Harrington of North Bennington, Vt., Cecilia Harrington of Shaftsbury, Vt. and Teresa O'Brien of Lompac, Calif. Vera emigrated to the United States in 1932 and attended Waterford schools. She was a Pleasantdale resident since 1942. She worked in the production and bindery department for the former Regal Art Press in Troy for 10 years, retiring in the early 1980s. She was a former member of the Pleasantdale Covenant Church, and was formerly active with her late husband in the Adirondack Fiddlers Association. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and bird watching. Survivors include her seven children, William H. Roberts III (Gail) of Melrose, Vera Jean Murray and Carolyn Pearson, both of Lansingburgh, Marion Daus (Michael) of Wynantskill, Douglas Roberts (Lynne) of Albany, Constance Hoffmann (Paul) of Cedar Grove, Wis. and Deborah Simon of East Greenbush; a sister, Muriel Haskin of Waterford; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Snyder, Marilyn McMahon ALBANY Marilyn McMahon Snyder, 63, died Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Albany Medical Center, after a long illness. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Edmund A. and Catherine R. (Coyne) McMahon. She was a lifelong Capital District resident. Marilyn worked for the American Automobile Association (AAA) in the membership department for 25 years, retiring in 1984. After her retirement, she and her husband, owned and operator Mohawk Ceramics for several years. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, George G. Snyder. She was the mother of Paul R. McMahon of Albany; sister of Judy (Dave) Opp of Endicott, N.Y., Susan (Jim) Barker of Auburn, N.Y., Peggy (Angelo) D'Aloia of Mechanicville and Edmund A. (Patricia) McMahon, Jr. of Wynantskill; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
