She and her late husband, William Ackerman moved to Albany from NYC in 1947. They were long time active members of Temple Israel in Albany and other local organizations. Richard was born on November 21, 1928 in Queens, N.Y. to the late Gustav and Catherine Strebleau Boeck. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1945 to 1948 attaining the rank of corporal and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1092 in Niskayuna. Richard worked as a mechanic for State Equipment in Colonie for many years then went to work at the Albany Country Club for over 10 years, before retiring in 1994. He loved to play golf, adored his cats and enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, camping and the outdoors. Richard is the husband of Veronica F. Ronnie (Virano) Boeck; the father of Bernice A. Coryea of N.C., Jonathan L. Boeck of Watervliet, Anthony J. Boeck of Virginia Beach, Va., Jerome R. Boeck and his wife Claire of Latham, Antoinette T. Tryniszewski and her husband Mark of Clifton Park and Alan D. Bolton Plumbing and Heating for many years in Albany. He enjoyed woodworking, any type of mechanical repairs and restoring boats. ALBANY Anthony P. Chillemi, 56, died Monday, August 2, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Gloria Macri Chillemi. Mr. Chillemi was a graduate of Siena College. He retired as Director of Audit and Budget for the New York State Thruway Authority after 34 years of service. He was an active member of the Siena College Alumni Association and was a communicant of St. James Church. Mr. Chillemi was an avid gardener, eager traveler, accomplished chef and had a passion for the architectural history of urban environments. He is survived by his life partner, Michael Sabol; his sister, Barbara Benedetti and her husband Dewey of Queensbury; nephews, Paul and his wife Marilu of Albany, Michael and James Benedetti of Queensbury; his great-nephew, Nicholas Benedetti, his pride and joy. Survived by her husband of 59 years, Henry Cooke; children, Margy Cooke Taylor, Bess (Dr. Edward) Lewis and Jon H. Cooke, all of Rochester; grandchildren, Charlie, Molly and Jenny Lewis, Frann and Sam Taylor. She was the first woman to serve in the State Assembly from Monroe County. Also, Governor Cuomo appointed her to the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission and Institute for Nonviolence and Governor Pataki appointed her to the Board of Visitors at the School at Industry where she served as president of that board. Prior to her career in the State Legislature, she worked ten years at the Al Sigl Center as director of social services for cerebral palsy. She graduated from Ohio State University with a master's degree in social work. She was educated and lived on the family farm in Upstate Vermont before moving to the City of Albany in search of employment. She had worked for many years at Cluett & Peabody in Troy as a shirtmaker. She was married to William H. King, Sr., who predeceased her in 1972. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Edmund S. Steffler of Latham; her nieces, Debbie Chesbro and Judy Berkery, both of Watervliet, Joan Franco of St. George, Utah and Mary Conlon of Syracuse; her nephew, Larry Steffler of Albany; also survived by a host of grandnieces and grandnephews. She was born October 9, 1946 in Niskayuna, N.Y., a daughter of Julia Reese Bailey and the late Horace H. Bailey. Mrs. Liston received her bachelor of arts in English from Iowa Wesleyan College. She retired from Houghton Mifflin Publishing Company of Boston where she served as business manager of the college textbook division. She was a member of the League of Women Voters and enjoyed reading as her hobby. She and her husband spent 5 years cruising the East Coast and the Bahamas aboard their sailboat, Limerick, before coming ashore at Georgetown. A resident of Georgetown for 14 years, she also was Executive Director of Keep Georgetown Beautiful. Morales, Pedro (Pete) BALLSTON SPA Pedro (Pete) Morales died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, July 28, 2004 at Maplewood Manor Nursing home after a long illness. He was born in New York City and died at the age 73. Pete was a much loved member of the community of Fairfield, Calif., where he lived for many years. He moved to this area five years ago. He retired from the military after over 20 years of service, and worked in civil service for over ten years. Pete was past master of Suisun Lodge #55, Masonic Temple, in Fairfield, Calif., as well as a member of Scottish rite. He was an avid volunteer for the Red Cross, the Diabetes Society, and countless other charities. Pete was a giving, kind and generous friend to all. Most of all, he was the best husband, father, and grandfather a family could ever have asked for. He is survived by his wife, Esther Morales of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; daughters, Dorothy Diaz of San Diego and her husband Alberto and Dona Frank of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Joseph Morales of Ballston Spa, and his wife Lani, Jillian Gomez of San Diego and her husband Jose, and Olivia Scibelli, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Morelli, Jr., 74, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2004 at Burdette Hospital, in Cape May Court House, N.J. Al was born in Schenectady on November 29, 1929, the son of the late Albert and Elvira Pacelli Morelli, Sr. and graduated from Nott Terrace High School, class of 1947. He served in the US Air Force, stationed in Texas. Al was the founder and owner of the former ALCOBRA and ARKA General Construction Companies on Foster Avenue in Schenectady. He was a senior manager for Beltrone Construction Company in Albany. Al was also owner of the former Morelli's Restaurant in Albany and the Erie Barge in Schenectady. Al left Schenectady in the early eighties to serve as business consultant in association with his son for Morelli Masonry and General Construction Enterprises in Cape May Court House in New Jersey. Al was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge in Wildwood, N.J. Al was a special gift to all who knew him. He was a man who enjoyed life and people. He was kind, generous and possessed a sense of humor appreciated by all. People gravitated to his warmth and wise counsel. He was a friend to all, especially those in need and he never met a person he didn't like. Al became the Mayor any place he visited or resided. He loved cooking for his friends and going to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He leaves behind many devoted friends, including his card buddies; the gang at The Apollo and Alfies, and Dorothy and Paula (Sparky) Negri who will miss him dearly. Al was a truly unique man who with a sense of style and class did it all, His Way, for this, we all loved and admired him. For what is a man worth, if not? Survivors include his loving sons, Albert E. Morelli, III and his wife, Darlene of Wildwood Crest, N.J. and Richard Morelli of Schenectady; a sister, AnnaMae and her husband, Tom Woods of Glenville. Al was the former husband of Catherine Beltrone McClune of Albany. He was born on January 16, 1948 in Lowville, N.Y. and was the son of the late George N. and Monica Monnat Muth. Mr. Muth had lived in Clifton Park since 1976 and was formerly of Mechanicville. He was a graduate of Fr. Leo High School in Croghan, N.Y., Class of 1965. He received his bachelor's degree in distributive education at Siena College and later earned his master's degree in teaching at SUNY Albany. He had a love for teaching and was a dedicated teacher at Mechanicville High School for 33 years until retiring in 2002. He coached tennis at Mechanicville for 14 years as well. Nothing quite compared to the kids in his life and his special way of helping them. Robert enjoyed the outdoors fully. He loved to golf and his flower gardens were beautiful because of the care that he gave to them. Siena basketball season tickets were a must and family events were very important to him. His cooking talents reached their peak when those he loved gathered around (his goulash was a hit!). Above all, the special times that he spent with his best friend and son will always be treasured. He never missed a soccer, basketball or rugby game of Steve's. Robert was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church and he gave the gift of sight through his cornea donation. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine A. Gorsky Muth; devoted father to Steven R. Muth of Clifton Park; caring brother of David (Elvira) Muth of Melbourne, Fla.; special uncle of Mary-Ann Muth of Glenville and Michael G. (Sharon) Muth of Voorheesville; grand uncle of Cassandra Muth, Michaela Muth and Marissa Muth, all of Voorheesville; nephew of Rita Ode of Sun City West, Ariz. and Beverly (Big Ed) Zuzick of Stillwater. Parazynski, 89, of Parkwood Avenue, Johnstown, died Saturday evening, July 31, 2004 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, after a short illness. Born July 21, 1915 in Schenectady, son of the late Andrew and Agnus Parazynski. He graduated from Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School in 1933 and the GE apprentice program in Schenectady. He was instrumental in the manufacturing and production of the first jet engine at GE in Schenectady during World War II. Mr. Parazynski retired in 1974 as a machinist from GE. He was the owner and operator of Park Moon Snack Bar of Clifton Park. He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, former member of the Albany Polish Community Center, former member of the Parish Council of St. Anthony's Church. Mr. Parazynski enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, polka dancing, pinnacle, family and friends. Mr. Parazyski also enjoyed playing cards and the innocence of young children. He was instrumental in shutting down the one room school house in the area and was appointed to a committee centralizing the area to Shenendehowa Central Schools opening and was a trustee and was responsible for transportation to various area schools (through his generous donations to the Albany PCC enabling them to erect a Pavillion). He is survived by his wife, Helen Zayicek Cekovsky Parazynski, whom he married in 1981 of Johnstown; three daughters, Natlie Czerw, Highland, Calif., Diana Guy and her husband, William, Nehalem, Ore. and Justine Stott, Houston, Texas; three stepchildren, Richard Cekovsky, Olathe, Kan., William Cekovsky and his wife, Janet, Southington, Calif. and MaryAnn Wadsworth and her husband, William, Clifton Park; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Piccolo of Winners Circle died Sunday, August 1, 2004 at Saratoga Hospital after a long illness. She was 82. Born on January 28, 1922, in Schenectady, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Baldasare. Mrs. Piccolo worked for many years as a clerk for CVS Pharmacy in Latham, N.Y. She was married to Americo Piccolo, who died in June 2003. Survivors include two sons, Americo Mark Piccolo of Saratoga Springs and Ronald Piccolo and his wife Sandy; one daughter, Carol Barrato of Goshen, Conn.; one brother, Richard Baldasare and his wife Josephine of Schenectady; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his caregivers, Bev Nash and Connie Alonzo. Snyder, Marilyn McMahon ALBANY Marilyn McMahon Snyder, 63, died Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Albany Medical Center, after a long illness. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Edmund A. and Catherine R. (Coyne) McMahon. She was a lifelong Capital District resident. Marilyn worked for the American Automobile Association (AAA) in the membership department for 25 years, retiring in 1984. After her retirement, she and her husband, owned and operator Mohawk Ceramics for several years. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, George G. Snyder. She was the mother of Paul R. McMahon of Albany; sister of Judy (Dave) Opp of Endicott, N.Y., Susan (Jim) Barker of Auburn, N.Y., Peggy (Angelo) D'Aloia of Mechanicville and Edmund A. Tanski, Anna Mae LOUDONVILLE Anna Mae Devine Tanski, age 86, of Pembrooke Court died Monday, August 2, 2004 at the Community Hospice of Albany, 600 Northern Blvd. Born in Albany, Anna Mae lived on Culver Avenue in Colonie, Venice, Fla. for 18 years and Hartwell, Ga. for five years before moving back to the Albany area last year. She had been employed for 10 years as a data processor for the New York State Department of Labor, retiring in 1979. She enjoyed sewing and during her retirement, enjoyed walks on the beach in Florida. Anna Mae is survived by her husband, Walter Zig Tanski; her children, Stephen (Shirley) Tanski of Atlanta, Ga. and Ralph (Kathy) Tanski of Loudonville; her grandchildren, Stephen Tanski Jr., Heather Tanski and Seth Tanski; great-granddaughter, Stephanie Tanski; and her sister, Beatrice Laraia of Colonie. She was predeceased by her siblings, James, Lorraine, Ralph, Howard and Mildred.
