She was born on January 28, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Parania Kulmatyzka Spiak. Survivors include three children, Frank A. Baciewicz, Jr., M.D. of Detroit, Mich., Anne M. Baciewicz, Pharm.D. of Cleveland, Ohio and Peter A. Baciewicz, M.D. of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Anthony Spiak of Latham, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank A. Baciewicz, Sr.; her daughter, Marian A. Baciewicz, who died while serving in the Peace Corp in Africa; and her brother, Emil Spiak. Per her wishes, her body was donated to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for medical education and research. Richard was born on November 21, 1928 in Queens, N.Y. to the late Gustav and Catherine Strebleau Boeck. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1945 to 1948 attaining the rank of corporal and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1092 in Niskayuna. Richard worked as a mechanic for State Equipment in Colonie for many years then went to work at the Albany Country Club for over 10 years, before retiring in 1994. He loved to play golf, adored his cats and enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, camping and the outdoors. Richard is the husband of Veronica F. Ronnie (Virano) Boeck; the father of Bernice A. Coryea of N.C., Jonathan L. Boeck of Watervliet, Anthony J. Boeck of Virginia Beach, Va., Jerome R. Boeck and his wife Claire of Latham, Antoinette T. Tryniszewski and her husband Mark of Clifton Park and Alan D. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Gloria Macri Chillemi. Mr. Chillemi was a graduate of Siena College. He retired as Director of Audit and Budget for the New York State Thruway Authority after 34 years of service. He was an active member of the Siena College Alumni Association and was a communicant of St. James Church. Mr. Chillemi was an avid gardener, eager traveler, accomplished chef and had a passion for the architectural history of urban environments. He is survived by his life partner, Michael Sabol; his sister, Barbara Benedetti and her husband Dewey of Queensbury; nephews, Paul and his wife Marilu of Albany, Michael and James Benedetti of Queensbury; his great-nephew, Nicholas Benedetti, his pride and joy. Clarke, 88, of New Scotland and formerly of Cape Cod, died Monday, August 2, 2004 at Childs Nursing Home, Albany. Mrs. Clarke was born in Albany on August 1, 1916. She was the daughter of the late William L. and Charlotte G. Blaum. Mrs. Clarke was an alumnus of Milne High School, Mildred Elley School and Russell Sage College. She worked for the NYS Department of Labor for several years but always assisted her husband, Charles, as part owner of the Charles B. Clarke Insurance Company in Delmar. Mrs. Clarke was a member of the Unionville Reformed Church for 50 years and was very active with the Sunday School. She was a long time resident of the Town of New Scotland and a past member of the Town of New Scotland Historical Society. While living in Chantilly, Va., Mrs. Clarke was employed by Fairfax County as an historian, working at the Richard Bland Lee Plantation in Chantilly. In her retirement on Cape Cod, Mrs. Clarke was a part owner and business manager of Saltaway Cottages in Eastham and was a member of the Board of Trade and a officer and director of the Eastham Historical Society. She was an artist, working with oils. Each of the cottages at Eastham supplied her with her art work. In a short time, even though they were not meant for sale, the guests insisted on purchasing the paintings and they are now located all over the USA and Canada. Mrs. Clarke is survived by her best friend, business partner and husband of 66 years, Charles B. Clarke; her son, C. Bill Clarke and his wife Priscilla and her grandson, Charles W. Clarke, all of Altamont. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Crane, Barbara GUILDERLAND Barbara Crane, of Stockbridge and Albany, born on July 12, 1957 in Oceanside, N.Y. to Neill and Barbara Sickles, died on August 3, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Barbara attended Nassau Community College and created a successful professional career, working with and for the needs of special education children. She worked at Nassau Center for Developmentally Disabled Children, the Bright Waters Group Home for Emotionally Disturbed Adolescent Girls and Stockbridge Plain School. Barbara and her husband Chuck (Charles) eloped on January 31, 1980 in New Lebanon, N.Y. It was on Long Island that they celebrated the birth of their first child, Jacob. Due to the opportunities associated with work, they moved to Stockbridge in the mid-80s where they had their second child, Casey. They have also lived in Holyoke, Ariz., Kan. and Albany, returning to Stockbridge after each of these adventures. Barbara's primary focus in life was her husband and her children. She was also a lover of animals, involved in rescue missions and the show ring. Barbara was an artist, creating miniature pen and ink drawings. She was an avid reader, movie buff and cherished meaningful quotes. Her heart always allowed her to advocate for the underdog with grace and panache. Barbara leaves her husband, Chuck, of 25 years and her son, Jacob and daughter, Casey. She also leaves her brothers, Skip Sickles (of NYC), Rick Finney (of New Lebanon) and Robert Davis (of Ariz.); her sisters, Carla Sickles, Rachel Finney and Julia Davis; two nieces, Becky Sickles and Mallorie Finney; one nephew, Devon Finney; parents, Joe and Deannie Crane; and mother, Barbara Sickles of Lenox. Barbara was predeceased by Rachel and Rick's son, Justin. Sal was a graduate of the Junior College of Albany with an associate in applied sciences degree. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and participated in group activities at the Vet Center in Albany. He received special recognition from the Homeless Action Committee due to his concern for the homeless. Sal was also an avid fisherman, a lover of nature and animals (Walter, Reba and Amigo) and was a member of the Capital District Bass Masters. He was an open and compassionate man and has many friends from all walks of life. Prior to that, she had been employed at the Teresian House and University Heights Nursing Home as a nurses aide in Albany as well as having worked in the cafeteria at Haldane School. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lorretta Church in Cold Spring. She is mother of Robert M. DeRonda III and his wife Paulette of Middletown, N.Y. and Kelly Ann DeRonda of Malta, N.Y. She is sister of Edward J. Dahlia of Cold Spring, Roger W. Dahlia of Wappingers Falls, Barbara A. Ford, Donald M. Dahlia, Mary A. Scalpi, all of Cold Spring and Michael J. Hampston, 63, died Monday, August 2, 2004. Born and raised in Poland, N.Y., Robert was the son of Helen Forrest Hampston of Poland and the late R. Willis Hampston. He had lived in Voorheesville for many years before moving permanently to Florida last year. He received his bachelor's degree from Clarkson College in 1963 and was a member of Omnicron PI Omnecron Fraternity. He served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965, then worked briefly for the California Department of Transportation and from 1967 until his retirement in 1996 as a civil engineer for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. He was born on January 16, 1948 in Lowville, N.Y. and was the son of the late George N. and Monica Monnat Muth. Mr. Muth had lived in Clifton Park since 1976 and was formerly of Mechanicville. He was a graduate of Fr. Leo High School in Croghan, N.Y., Class of 1965. He received his bachelor's degree in distributive education at Siena College and later earned his master's degree in teaching at SUNY Albany. He had a love for teaching and was a dedicated teacher at Mechanicville High School for 33 years until retiring in 2002. He coached tennis at Mechanicville for 14 years as well. Nothing quite compared to the kids in his life and his special way of helping them. Robert enjoyed the outdoors fully. He loved to golf and his flower gardens were beautiful because of the care that he gave to them. Siena basketball season tickets were a must and family events were very important to him. His cooking talents reached their peak when those he loved gathered around (his goulash was a hit!). Above all, the special times that he spent with his best friend and son will always be treasured. He never missed a soccer, basketball or rugby game of Steve's. Robert was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church and he gave the gift of sight through his cornea donation. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine A. Gorsky Muth; devoted father to Steven R. Muth of Clifton Park; caring brother of David (Elvira) Muth of Melbourne, Fla.; special uncle of Mary-Ann Muth of Glenville and Michael G. A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, she was born October 24, 1920, daughter of the late Fred and Edith Zennaiter Miranda. She was a homemaker who, years ago, worked at the former Korell Dress Mfgrs.; a member of the Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville and formerly with the Rosary Altar Society. Aminda's life interest was to watch over and care for her husband, her two daughters, their children and grandchildren and her Miranda siblings. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Edward S. Polonis; daughters and their husbands, Marie and Richard Fortune, Kathy and David Cassidy, all of Ballston Lake; grandchildren, Elizabeth Fortune (James) Gaetani, Michael (Dina) Fortune, Shane and Stephanie Cassidy; great-granddaughters, Miranda and Maribella Gaetani; sisters, Carmina Zeppetelli and Jane (Tony) DeSieno, all of Mechanicville, Dolores Cuomo of Waterford, Patti Desmond of DelRay Beach, Fla. and sister-in-law, Marie Miranda of Mechanicville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Published in the Albany Times Union on 8/4/2004. Reynolds, Marilla E. MENANDS Marilla E. Reynolds, age 72 years, of Menands, died July 31, 2004 at the Eddy-Ford Nursing Home, Cohoes, N.Y. She was born May 13, 1932 at Reynolds Corners, Saratoga County, N.Y., daughter of George W. (d. 1980) and Thelma W. Reynolds. Her early education was at the Reynolds Corners School in the town of Moreau. She attended junior high school in South Glens Falls, N.Y., transferring to and graduating from Ballston Spa High School in 1949. She earned her bachelor of science in music education at SUNY College at Fredonia in 1953. She began her 34-year teaching career at the Menands Free School in September 1953. She retired from the Menands Free School in June 1987. She taught music to all grades, sponsored the school chorus and band during her tenure. Throughout her teaching career, Marilla continued her education, completing her master's of science in music at the Crane School of Music at SUNY, College at Potsdam. She also enhanced her teaching, completing studies at a number of universities, both foreign and domestic, specializing in ethnic music as she traveled world wide. Marilla was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a society for women professional educators, serving on numerous committees and as a past officer of the group. She was an active member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church, Menands, N.Y. During her years in the church, she has served as an organist/choir director, deacon and elder. She served on many committees and served as delegate to the Albany Presbytery and Presbytery committees. Marilla is survived by her mother, Thelma W. Reynolds of Bonita Springs, Fla; her brother, George William Reynolds Jr. and his spouse Dorothy of Bonita Springs, Fla.; their children, Elizabeth Ann Reynolds Schrieber, her spouse Emmanuel and children, Abraham and Sarah of Pittsburgh, Pa.; George W. Tanski, Anna Mae LOUDONVILLE Anna Mae Devine Tanski, age 86, of Pembrooke Court died Monday, August 2, 2004 at the Community Hospice of Albany, 600 Northern Blvd. Born in Albany, Anna Mae lived on Culver Avenue in Colonie, Venice, Fla. for 18 years and Hartwell, Ga. for five years before moving back to the Albany area last year. She had been employed for 10 years as a data processor for the New York State Department of Labor, retiring in 1979. She enjoyed sewing and during her retirement, enjoyed walks on the beach in Florida. Anna Mae is survived by her husband, Walter Zig Tanski; her children, Stephen (Shirley) Tanski of Atlanta, Ga. and Ralph (Kathy) Tanski of Loudonville; her grandchildren, Stephen Tanski Jr., Heather Tanski and Seth Tanski; great-granddaughter, Stephanie Tanski; and her sister, Beatrice Laraia of Colonie. She was predeceased by her siblings, James, Lorraine, Ralph, Howard and Mildred.
