Brennan, 74, of Paine Street, Green Island, died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Green Island, son of the late Joseph and Mary Scally Brennan, he was a lifelong resident of the village. Jack served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 and had been employed by the former Bendix Corporation in Green Island for 32 years, retiring in 1980 as a manufacturing scheduler. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Green Island and also served as an usher and the church custodian. Jack was a member of the Legnard-Curtin Post American Legion and an avid Yankee, Giants and Notre Dame fan. Survivors include his beloved wife Norma Arnold Brennan; four devoted children, James (Madelyn) Brennan of Schenectady and Terrance, Thomas and Jeanne Brennan, all of Green Island; two cherished grandchildren, Timothy and Kelly Brennan; a sister, Marie Hare of Poughkeepsie; a special sister-in-law, Mary Ella Casey Whitten of Stuart, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Howard Whitey Zielke of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and his extended grandchildren, Michele, Katrina and Saraya. James Edward), a Sister of the Holy Names for 67 years, died August 20, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, N.Y. Sister resided at Teresian House in Albany. She taught at Mont Royal and St. Dominic's in Montreal, Canada, St. John the Evangelist in Schenectady three different times, St. Peter Claver in Tampa, Fla., St. Michael's in Silver Spring, Md., Immaculate Conception in New Bedford, Mass. and at the Academy of the Holy Names in Albany. She was a religious education coordinator teacher at Holy Redeemer in Kissimmee, Fla. and a volunteer religious education teacher at Our Lady Star of the Sea in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Plans for a memorial service will be announced at a future time. Cervini, Josephine MECHANICVILLE Mrs. Josephine Jeff Cervini, 76, of Chestnut St., and longtime resident of Leonard St., died Thursday morning, August 19, 2004 at Albany Medical Center after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, she was born March 16, 1928, daughter of the late Ambrose and Rose Fusco DiNata and wife of the late Theodore Cervini Jr., who died in 1991. Mrs. Cervini was a homemaker who, years ago, worked at the Grand Union in Mechanicville. A communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville, Mrs. Cervini also enjoyed bocci at the Italian Fraternal Society and bowled for many years in the WIBC Women's Tuesday night league. She enjoyed traveling about this country with her family and friends. A very interested and proud grandmother, Mrs. Cervini attended most of all her grandchildren's academic and sporting events. Survivors include her daughters, Joan and husband Andy Gagliardi of Clifton Park, Rose Marie Cervini of Mechanicville; sons, Theodore and wife Paula Cervini III and Carmine and wife Kelli Cervini, all of Mechanicville; along with grandchildren, Andrew and Michael Gagliardi, Maria, Theodore IV and Christina Cervini, Alexandra and Nicholas Cervini, and Dan and Kevin Auman. Also two brothers, Carmen DiNata of Mechanicville and Anthony DiNata of Brooklyn; along with in-laws; nieces and nephews. Crannell, 81, of Latham, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital on Friday, August 20, 2004 after a long illness. Dennis was born in Albany on November 21, 1952 to Ralph and Alice Edwards. Dennis graduated from Milne High School. He then furthered his education at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy and at American International College in Springfield, Mass. Dennis played basketball both in high school and college. He was an avid sports fan. Dennis was a good neighbor and helpful to everyone in his community. Dennis worked at the Westfield State Detention Center in Westfield, Mass. and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services. Francis was born on December 31, 1929 in Albany to the late Francis M. and Catherine Hess May. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952. Francis worked as an electrician for Local Union #724 in Albany for over 30 years then went to work for the VA Hospital for ten years before retiring in 1992. He was a family man and loved his grandchildren. He also enjoyed golfing and reading. Francis is survived by his wife of 49 years, Veronica Wilson May of Clifton Park; two daughters, Suzanne (Glen) Harrison of Colonie and Maureen (John) Borgeest of Stillwater; and four grandchildren, Caitlin and Matthew Harrison and Melanie and Lukas Borgeest. He was a member of the Italian Community Center in Troy, the Troy Elks, the Ciccarelli, Ray, Agars, and Bevevino Post and the Knights of Columbus in Troy. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Theresa (Serao) Necco of Troy; his two children, Mrs. Nobile Ring and her husband Kenneth T. Ring of Troy and a son, Anthony Necco and his wife Ruth Necco of N.J. He was predeceased by his parents, Marie Lauridsen Pedersen and Christian Pedersen. He was also predeceased by his wife, Janet Flansburg Pedersen. Chris served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was a long time member of the Boyd Hilton VFW Post in Altamont. After returning home, he worked for the N.Y. Telephone Co. for 36 years before retiring. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Pedersen; two grandsons, Kevin Christian (Mutsumi) Seymour and Kelly Ethan (Amanda) Seymour and two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Mutsumi and Seiya Christian Seymour, all of Florida. He is also survived by his Sweetie, Beverly Sheehy, her daughter Wendy (Mark) Reamer and grandchildren, Joey and Jonna Reamer; his beloved brother, Fred Bob (Ruth) Pedersen of Acra, N.Y.; his beloved sisters, Doris (Elwood) Vanderbilt of Onesquethaw and Agnes Geel of Albany. Perry, Ethel Mae ALBANY Ethel Mae Kearney Perry was born on May 27, 1934 in Warrenton, N.C. to the late Laura Baskett Kearney Davis and Earlie Kearney. She departed this life on August 18, 2004 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones at the time of her passing. Ethel spent her first 20 years in Albany employed at Flah's Department Store. She also worked for several years at the Whitney M. Young Health Center in Albany and she was currently employed at the Hackett Middle School at the time of her passing. Her memory will be forever cherished by her five children, Betty J. Smith, Gail Pat Perry, Regina Goodbee, Lori Brodhead-Cancer (James) and her only son, Jeffery L. White. Also left to cherish her memory, two sisters, Marie K. Williams (Charles) and Josephine K. Reisdorf, Lucy Ellery Soule LATHAM Lucy Ellery Soule Reisdorf, 88, died Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at the Albany County Residential Health Care Facility. She was born in Baltimore, Md., the daughter of the late Jay Ellery and Margaret Martley Soule. Lucy was raised in Rensselaer, N.Y. and attended St. Peter's School of Radiology and the College of St. Rose in Albany. She served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II and also served in the diplomatic corps where she was stationed in Manila, Philippines and in Tel Aviv, Israel. She worked for the Department of State in Washington, D.C. and traveled extensively throughout the world with her late husband John Reisdorf. Lucy was also an avid writer of poetry. Prior to moving to the Latham area four years ago, Lucy resided in Annandale, Va. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Tully of Rensselaer and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Henry Soule of Slingerlands and a sister, Rose Mary Moore of Newtonville. Known to many as Stella, she was born in Cohoes on May 29, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary Magdalena Rys Golan. For much of her life, Stella resided in Cohoes where she had attended St. Michael's Church and Holy Trinity Parish. She had been a resident of Wynantskill since 1992. At the age of 16, Stella took employment with Cluett, Peabody and Co. in Troy, where she worked until 1950. Following her employment with Cluett's, she dedicated herself to her home and to raising her family. She later took employment with Kay's Caps in Green Island, where she worked for 36 more years until her retirement 12 years ago. Stella enjoyed reading mystery novels and especially enjoyed the author Mary Higgins Clark. She also enjoyed listening to classical music, especially the compositions of Verdi, cooking, taking walks, Yankee Trails bus trips with her family, watching the news and keeping up with current events and polka dancing with her sister. Proud of her heritage, she always maintained a nationalistic Polish pride. Although Stella had many enjoyable pastimes, nothing brought her as much pleasure as the time she spent with her loving family. Stella was the beloved wife of 57 years of William P. Wolfe; loving mother of Cynthia Fronczek and her husband Edward of Waterford; cherished grandmother of Michael Dickinson of Mechanicville, Jessica, Carrie and Stephanie Fronczek, all of Waterford; great-grandmother of Alexis and Kylie Dickinson; dear sister of Bertha Golan of Cohoes, Frank Golan and wife Cathy of Cold Springs, N.Y. and the late Helen Golan, Jean Bousquet whose husband George of Waterford survives and Joseph Golan. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral service on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet where the Reverend Michael Crandall will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Contributions in memory of Stella may be made to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
