Weir, 79, of Parkwood Village Apartments in Clifton Park, N.Y., departed this life on Sunday morning, August 15, 2004 at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness. Born in North Adams, Mass. on June 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James F. Mooney and Gertrude Goodman Mooney. Mary spent her childhood years in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. and graduated in 1943 from St. Mary's Academy. Mary loved to travel and enjoyed spending summer vacation time with her brother, sister-in-law and three nieces camping on Cape Cod, Mass. Fondly known as Aunt Bird by her family, Mary was well known for her sharp wit and always had a positive outlook on life, even during her last few months when she faced numerous medical challenges. All through her life, her family looked forward to receiving the most unique greeting cards and gifts that were both comical and always well-suited to the recipient. Mary was the dear sister of the late Francis J. Mooney and sister-in-law of Joan Fenn Mooney of Colonie. Aunt Bird will be sorely missed by her nieces, Patricia M. Mooney and Mary Beth Mooney and her husband Randy Fine, all of Niskayuna, and the late Kathleen A. Mooney. She was the devoted great aunt to Kevan G. Mooney and Brandon and Cameron Fine.
