Born in Albany, N.Y., April 28, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Lina (Lockwood) Davis. Jean was a cheerleader for the ICC Riders Basketball Team and graduated from Ichabod Crane in 1959. She was employed by Hudson River Bank and Trust and retired from Albank in Albany where she worked as a loan specialist. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Stuyvesant and was a Sunday School teacher at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Stuyvesant. She also sang with the Sweet Adelines. She is survived by her husband, Karl G. Altomer; two daughters, Lisa Monthie and husband, Brian, of Niverville, Lori J. Drumm and husband, Jeffrey, of Stuyvesant; one sister, Carol Pinkowski of Chatham, N.Y.; five brothers, Charles Davis and wife, Diane, of Castleton, Ronald Davis and wife, Ginny, of North Chatham, Robert Davis and wife, Marie, of Round Lake, Paul Davis and wife, Shirley, of Chatham and Martin Davis and wife, Mary Ann, of Buffalo; one grandson, Dillon Jeffrey Drumm; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from St. John's Lutheran Church, Route 26A, Stuyvesant with the service conducted by Deacon Robert Fricke and Rev. James Slater. Balducci, Dolores Sorcinelli Uliva ALBANY Dolores Sorcinelli Uliva Balducci, 93, of Guilderland, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Balducci was born in Italy and emigrated to the United States in 1919, settling in Ludlow, Mass. Upon her marriage, she moved to Albany, where she lived the rest of her life. She was employed by the Embossing Co. in Albany, and by the Whitney's and Denby's department stores, where she managed the alterations department. She was a communicant of St. Margaret Mary's Church in Albany for many years and for a time of Christ the King Church in Guilderland. She also loved gardening and cooking and was a member of the Guilderland Senior Citizens. Mrs. Balducci was the wife of the late Oddo Uliva, and Odone Balducci. She is survived by her son, Albert R. Uliva of Clifton Park; her daughters, Marcelene (Salvatore) Cannistraci of Loudonville and Jacqueline Tenney of Latham; her sisters, Mary Hope, Rita Batista and Evelyn Aniscik of Ludlow, Mass. and Angelina Fiore of Wilbraham, Mass.; and by 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her brother, Eugene Sorcinelli. Born in Albany, he attended school in Rensselaer. Son of James and Roseanne Long Sr. and widower of Harriet Golden Long. He is a retiree of the Railway Express and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II with the 80th Division and served under General Patton. Mr. Long was a member of the American Legion, Brunswick Lodge of Elks BPOE #2556 and the Troy Lodge of Elks BPOE #141 and the Tamarac Outdoorsmen. He was a past volunteer for the Veterans Administration, Hope 7, American Council of the Blind and the 1st Baptist Church of Rensselaer. He was the recipient of the 1988 Rensselaer County Veteran of the Year award. Father of James J. (Charolette) Long III - deceased, Patricia A. Veronica loved Albany and was a resident here for over half her life. Known as the Angel of North Pine Avenue, she was a retired nurse and took care of the many people in her life until the very end. Veronica was the proud mother of Kathleen Murray of Albany, the late Thomas Murray of Albany and Sean and Marnie Murray of Delmar. She was also the proud grandmother of Seanna, Thomas, Brendan, Max Murray and Lance Filkins and the soon-to-be Veronica Anne Murray. Veronica was also the proud foster mother of Patrick Sharpe and the many other children that touched her life including Marie, Phillip, Ben, Christina, Thomas, Josh and the so many others that will always remain in her heart: you know who you are. Snyder of Middleburgh, Schoharie County, died Thursday, July 1, 2004 while a patient at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady. Born October 15, 1917 in Potter Hollow, N.Y., he was the son of James Mackey Snyder and Nellie Richmond Snyder. At an early age, he and his family moved to Middleburgh, N.Y. where Rudy (as he was known to all) graduated from Middleburgh Central School. He attended R.P.I. prior to enlisting in the Army Air Corp, attaining the rank of first lieutenant, pilot. After serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II, he and the late Edgar Bush, also of Middleburgh, established Bush & Snyder Lumber Company. Some years later, he resumed studies and became a licensed land surveyor, opening an office in Middleburgh in 1959. He was a founding member of the Eastern New York Association of Land Surveyors and also a founding member of the Catskill Area Association of Land Surveyors. Always active in community service, Rudy was a member of the Middleburgh Fire Department, the American Legion Post #248, the Middleburgh Reformed Church, the Schoharie Valley Lodge #491 F&AM and served as mayor of the Village of Middleburgh in the late 1960s. Rudy was the first eagle scout in Troop 2 of Middleburgh and remained committed to the scouting program. He was a past president of the Schoharie County Historical Society, a past president of the board of directors of the Schoharie County Community Hospital and served on the board of directors of the Middleburgh Telephone Company. An avid collector of antique cars, he was a founding member of the Schoharie Valley Antique Automobile Association and a member of the Classic Car Club of America. A longtime member of Rotary, with over 40 years of perfect attendance, he was a Paul Harris fellow, served as district governor from 1983-84 for District #7190 and was committed to Rotary's Youth Exchange Program. On July 4, 1942, Rudy married the former Janet Schaeffer Bliss, who survives. They were the parents of four children, all of whom survive and live with their spouses in Middleburgh, Joanne Meinsma (James), Margaret Corradino (William), Elizabeth DuPont (Jacke) and James Snyder (Bonnie). Also surviving are their grandchildren, Dama Meinsma Lewis (Drew) of Malvern, Pa., Jeremy DuPont (Carla), James DuPont, Landon DuPont, Chloe Snyder and Asa Snyder, all of Middleburgh; their great-grandson, William Roger Lewis of Malvern, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
