Born in Cohoes she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Celina Raymond Roberts and was a graduate of the former St. Joseph's School in Cohoes. Beatrice has been employed for the past 20 years by the Rensselaer County Department of Social Services. She enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with her friends at Cossayuna Lake. She was widow of the late Alexander R. Apostol. Mother of Christine M. Carnibucci of Cohoes, Diane R. Primeau and her husband Timothy of Waterford and David G. Apostol and his wife Lynn of Mechanicville. She was sister of the late Raymond and Arthur Roberts. She is grandmother of Kristin Peterson of Arizona, Jessica Carnibucci of Cohoes and Leo Primeau of Waterford and great-grandmother of Jacob Carnibucci, Ryan and Ean Peterson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. He was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Dominick John and Matilda Komorny Catalfamo. Mr. Catalfamo was employed as a civil engineer for the N.Y.S. Department of Transportation, design service bureau, for over 20 years. He was a highly experienced highway designer. Dom was valued by his co-workers for his wit, technical expertise and wise counsel. He was a member of the N.Y.S. Association of Transportation Engineers. Dom was a member of the Highway Engineering bowling league for many years and a member of the Colonie Democratic Committee since 2000. He was a loving, dedicated father and grandfather who was very close to all of his children and his brother and sisters. Dom was well known for his affable demeanor and would liven up any room he walked into with his sparkling eyes, boyish grin and delightful sense of humor. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved cars and bowling. Like his father before him, Dom was a skilled craftsman and performed many projects around his home, as well as helping his brother, Lee with remodeling projects at his home as well. He will be greatly missed. Dom is the beloved father of Dominick John (DJ) Catalfamo and his wife Gretchen,Maria Catalfamo and Vincent Catalfamo. He is the devoted grandfather of Dominick James Catalfamo II. The light of his life for the past few years is his loving girlfriend and soul mate, Carolyn McMahon. He is the cherished brother of LeRoy (Lee) Catalfamo and his wife, Christine, Carol P. Marcella and Sheryl Leland and her husband, Richard. Born in Oneida, N.Y. and raised in Colonie, Mark was a graduate of Colonie High School. He worked as a truck driver/salesman for the H.B. Davis Seed Co. in Albany for over 20 years. Mark was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a kind man who enjoyed helping people and making everyone laugh whenever possible. Mark was loved by many and will be dearly missed. He is predeceased by his father, Richard D. Chambers. Born and educated in Little California PA., she was the daughter of the late George Clare Sealy and Polly Wardman Sealy. She was a graduate of Brownsville High School Class of 1943. She moved to Latham in 1952 and was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Latham. She worked at Behr Manning Co. in Watervliet as a packer in the 1950's and later at the Central Market in Latham as a cashier for several years until 1958. She then worked as an assistant buyer for the Boston Store in Latham for many years. Her last employment was G.E.X. in Latham, where she served as the assistant manager in the sporting goods for several years until her retirement. She was an avid Little League fan and known as grandmother to the world. Survivors in addition to her husband include her loving children; Steven Clark and his wife Theresa Chovan and Gary Allen and his wife Elissa Chovan all of Latham; her cherished grandchildren, Carra Q. Born in Albany on March 16, 1911, Mrs. Denn was the daughter of the late Carrie Smith and George T. Crear. She was a graduate of the former Milne High School and attended NYS College for Teachers. Mrs. Denn retired from the NYS Department of Transportation as a principal account clerk. Mrs. Denn was a charter member of the Bethlehem AARP, the Bethlehem Garden Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of Selkirk Fire Company #2. She was also a member of the Bethlehem Senior Citizens, the Glenmont Homemakers, the Sunshine Senior Citizens and the Glenmont Community Reformed Church. Mrs. Denn was the widow of James F. Denn. She is survived by a niece, Jane Goddrad of Middleburgh; three neophews, Robert Geel of Florida, Barend (Bud) Geel of Feura Bush and Richard Geel of Selkirk. Survivors in addition to her husband, include her loving son, Ted J. Howe of Union Street and lifelong Hudsonian, died Saturday, July 3, 2004 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. She was 75. Born in Hudson on March 2, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Loretto Delaney Ellsworth. A proud graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Hudson and lifelong member of St. Mary's Parish. Jeannette married Edward Hughes Howe on a remarkable winter Saturday, February 19, 1949. In addition to her work as a wife and mother, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Literacy Volunteers and a volunteer at the Hudson Railroad Station Snack Bar. Jeannette sang in the choir at St. Mary's and is remembered by many for her show stopping performance of Won't You Come Home Bill Bailey sung first by Jeannette in a St. Mary's Parish show in the 1960s. She was an operator with New York Telephone, manager for Osborne Music Center in Hudson and retired in 1994 from the Hudson City School District, where she worked as a bus aide. She represented the 4th ward on the Hudson Common Council. Her interest in the people, the city and the well being of the community of Hudson remained constant. She enjoyed good memories of former proprietors on Warren St., even as she enjoyed seeing new shops and restorations. Survivors include four sons, Thomas V. Howe of Mellenville, Ned Howe of Claverack, John Francis Howe of Greenport and Neil P. Howe of Hudson; two daughters, Eileen M. Halloran and Jean Howe-Lossi, both of Hudson; her son-in-law, Paul Lossi; and her daughters-in-law, Carol, Liz and Patty Howe; grandchildren, Jessica, Sean, Brian, Christopher, Erin, Kristen, Katie, Amy and Neil Scott Howe, Sean Halloran, Jeanine Millar and Jennifer Blodget. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward H. Howe Sr. as well as a brother, John Ellsworth and sister, Dorothy Drahushuk. He then worked for Sullivan's Service Station in East Greenbush for 10 years and then was a deliveryman for NAPA Auto Parts in Nassau retiring in 2003. He was a member of the East Greenbush V.F.W. Post No. 7338 and the 60th Cambat Engineers Association, 35th Infantry Division. Along with his parents, Mr. Larsen was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Edwards Larsen, two sons, Peter Allan and Matthew Joseph Larsen and a brother Esper P. Larsen. Anthony had worked for many years with Laborers Local 190 in Albany. He was a dedicated and devoted family man. In addition to his family, Anthony enjoyed tending to his garden and appreciating the fruits of his labors. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty two years, Maria Rose Marello Lo Presti. He is the loving father of Frank Lo Presti (Linda Wildermuth) and Tina Mickewicz and her husband Joe. He is the cherished grandfather of Alisha, Joesph and Marissa Miskewicz. Robert Matteson Jr., 60, of Barhydt Rd., died July 2, 2004 peacefully at home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 20, 1944 in Berlin, N.Y., Bob was a graduate of SUNY Morrisville and worked as a metallurgy specialist for G.E. and at the M&P Lab in Schenectady since 1986 up until recently. He married the former Jeannette Roy on July 31, 1971 at O.L. of Fatima Church, Delanson and had lived in Scotia over 30 years. Bob was a great outdoorsman, he hunted and fished, enjoyed gardening and loved to travel. He was treasurer of Troop #67 BSA and commissioner of Rector's Fire Dept. He had a passion for NASCAR and was an avid fan of the Earnhardt race car drivers. Bob attended St. Joseph's Church in Scotia. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Jeannette Matteson; a son, Robert Paul and Melissa Matteson and their expected child in February, of Cypress, Texas; his mother, Elinor Mattice Matteson of Norwich, N.Y.; sisters, Sharon Cope and her husband, Garry of Waterville and Caroline Call and her husband, Richard of Clifton Park. Bob is the beloved son-in-law of Paul E. Roy Sr. and the late Mildred Roy. Ryan, Francis Bud LATHAM Francis Bud Ryan, 77, of Latham, beloved husband for 42 years to Helen Sulette Ryan, died Friday evening, July 2, 2004 at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady. He was born in Newark, N.J., the son of the late Frank and Florence Kingman Ryan. Bud graduated from Elizabethtown High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the medical field. Bud worked for the New York Telephone Company for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was an avid golfer, belonged to Western Turnpike Country Club for 22 years and served as president of the men's association. He was a longtime member of the Albany Curling Club and served as president for two years. Bud was a member in the Telephone Pioneers and participated in many charitable events with its clown troupe. Bud also belonged to the Colonie Elk's Lodge #2192. In addition to his wife, he is the devoted father of Toni Duffy and her husband, Mike, of Palm Coast, Fla. and their two children, Brandon and Adam Duffy; stepson, Timothy Stachnick and his wife Kathleen of Niskayuna and their children, Ted and Dan Stachnick; and step-daughter, Linda Stachnick of Averill Park. Scarselletta Jr., Mario Queensbury Mario Scarselletta, Jr., 72, died Friday, July 2, 2004 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Glens Falls to Mario and Isabel (DeCarolis) Scarselletta, Mario Jr. was a lifelong area resident and respected labor leader. Mario attended Abraham Wing Elementary School and Glens Falls High School. He was very proud of his Glens Falls roots, and often told stories of playing ball in East Field and selling newspapers or shining shoes on downtown street corners during his youth. From 1949 to 1953, Mario served in the United States Army. He served in the Heavy Mortar division during the Korean War. Mario began his career in the paper industry in 1953 when he worked on a rewinder machine at Finch, Pruyn and Company in Glens Falls. Most importantly he was a steadfast advocate for workers' rights and labor-management collaboration. Mario treasured the many friends he made on both sides of the table throughout his long and distinguished career. Mario's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Marie (Mangini) Scarselletta; four children, Anthony (Lisa) Scarselletta of Virginia, Susan (Richard) St. John of Glens Falls, Diana (Richard) Straut of Voorheesville and Mario (Felicia) Scarselletta of Rochester, NY. He was very proud of his nine grandchildren, Tony and Lindsay Scarselletta, Erica (St. John) Fenton, Thomas, Eli and Luke Straut and Leo, Rocco, and Liam Scarselletta. Husband of the late Toby Lobel Zavolinsky the United States Government at the Voorheesville Army Depot until an unfortunate accident forced retirement from government service. Perhaps best known as a fixture of New Scotland Avenue culture, Yosel dished out as much comaraderie as he did coldcuts, bringing smiles, laughter and a sense of wonder to all he met. His love of life was contagious, his sense of humor unsurpassed and his strong will to overcome the many obstacles in his life an inspiration.
