EAST GREENBUSH Benjamin J. Augustine, age 86 years, of East Greenbush, devoted husband of the late Helen Augustine, passed peacefully after a short illness on July 12, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born October 1, 1917, he lived most of his life in the Capital District. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service 25 years ago. Mr. Augustine served his country during World War II. He also was a lifetime member of the Polish American Community Center and a 50-year member of the Joseph Zaloga American Legion Post. He was son of the late Vincent and Dorothy Augustine and was predeceased by his brothers, Vincent and John Augustine; his sisters, Sophie Poutre and Josephine Morwin. He is survived by his loving children, Kenneth Butler (Joyce) of Fla., Donald Butler of Guilderland, Diane Eckert (William) of Castleton, Robert Butler (Maureen) of Castleton, Jane Fenaughty (William) of Troy, Kathleen Butler of Albany, Marianne Butler-Horton (Charles) of East Greenbush/Clifton Park and Michael Butler of Castleton. Mr. Augustine is also survived by his sister, Eva Milos and brother, Joseph Augustine. He has eight cherished grandchildren including Jennifer Lynch-Fenaughty, also many nieces and nephews. Born in Perth Amboy, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Demczak Bius. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew Barna who died in 1998. Olga was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, clothes making and gardening. She will be missed by her many close friends, neighbors and fellow church members. She retired as a secretary/bookkeeper for Plumb Eye Glasses and was a bookkeeper for National Bank of Troy for eight years prior. Born in Valley Falls, he was the son of the late Louis J. and Immaculata Sasso Grieco. Mr. Grieco owned and operated the Jade Barber Shop in Albany from 1932 to 1993. He was a member of the Albany Barbers Association and at one time was voted the Best Dressed Barber in Albany. He was a former longtime member of the Albany Elks and communicant of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Albany. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Vargo Grieco, in December of 2000. He was the stepfather of Mary Ann Camilli, Joann P. She loved gardening and was an avid Yankee fan. Lois was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Ravena. Lois was the wife of the late John M. Mangini. On July 20, 2003, he accepted Christ and was baptized and became a dedicated member of Restoration Ministries in Albany. Bennie also enjoyed gardening and he was blessed with wonderful friends and neighbors who he loved as family. He was employed for several years at Albany Co. Nursing Home and at the Hilton hotel in Albany before he took ill. She was born on September 22, 1908 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended Milwaukee Downer College and married Russell G. Oswald on September 7, 1935 in Racine, Wisconsin. Russ was a Naval veteran of World War II. He held a law degree from Marquette University and MSW from Loyola University of Chicago. Russ and Jane moved to Schenectady in 1957. Russ was a career correctional administrator and retired from NYS service in 1977. Russ had previously served as chairman of the parole board, Commissioner of Correctional Services and as a member of the crime victims compensation board. Jane was previously employed in the admissions unit at Albany Medical Center and was a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. Russ predeceased Jane on March 8, 1991. They are survived by their son, Kurt Oswald of Niskayuna; daughter-in-law, Janet (Huebenthal) Oswald of Ft. Edward; beloved grandchildren, Karl, Emily and Aarik of Ft. Edward. Russ will be interred with military honors together with Jane during a private family ceremony at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in July of 2004. Born in Albany, he was the beloved son of Donna J. Allen Palella. He was a graduate of Albany High School and had been employed by Mabey's Moving Co. in Rensselaer. A loving person who did for others and never asked anything for himself. He was the loving brother of Carmen Palella; grandson of William Allen; several aunts, uncles, cousins and one niece and one nephew also survive. Pinto, 74, of Albany passed away on Monday, July 12, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. Snyder, 79, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. He was born September 7, 1924 in Delanson, N.Y., son of the late Omer and Elsie Snyder. Harold attended school in the Delanson school system. He retired from General Electric Corporation in Schenectady, where he was employed for over 40 years. He was a member of the Clifton Park Halfmoon VFW Post 1498, Clifton Park Elks Lodge #2466 and Motoring Mavericks RV Club. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, traveling, Nascar, baseball and was a fan of the Buffalo Bills. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Young departed this life abruptly on July 8, 2004. He was the son of Donna C. Starks-Tillman and Willie G. Young. He was born March 9, 1971. He was educated and graduated from the Albany Public School System in 1989. He was a Christian and a God-fearing person who often exhibited his Christian beliefs in his treatment of people. He attended Baran Institute of Technology, Westhaven/Windsor, Conn., graduating April 7, 1995. This training equipped him to explore and expand his life passion as a diesel engineer and automobile mechanic. Upon graduating, he was employed at H.L. Gage. He later went to Atlantic Detroit and then to Tracy Freightliner. His work experience included Niagara Mohawk and Delta Airlines. At the time of his death, he was employed at Cruz Automotive in Albany as a master automotive mechanic. He was a compassionate, loving, caring, sharing and unique humanitarian. He was an asset to the family and community. He tried so hard to please. He was a person that tried to abort the evil around him. He believed that to be kind and supportive, he could control the evil in the community. He was a lover of motorcycles and all bicycles. He loved to repair bicycles. He was a born mechanic who had a natural love. Left to cherish his memory, three children, Bianca Monee, Jarrell Michael Aaron and Jordyn Ani, all of Albany; his loving mother, Donna C. Starks-Tillman (Dennis) of Albany; his father, Willie G. Young (Linda) of Halifax, Va. He also leaves eight siblings, Willie Young Jr., Regina Dorsey (Wayne), Patricia Young, Kimberly Young, Lolita Keyes, Willie Tyrone (Lisa), Averie Young, Wyneshia Turner and stepsister, Anika Asquith-Tillman, all of Albany.
