Gus was born in River Edge, N.J. on April 21, 1933, residing in Bergen County until 1978. A graduate of Hackensack High School, where he played basketball at the state championship level and graduate of Farleigh-Dickinson University. Gus lived in Charlton from 1978-1995, moving to Rexford from 1995 to present. Gus was once manager of OPRANDY'S Store and Catering in N.J. and later regional sales manager for National Distillers in Manhattan. Most recently he was associated with Mike Winkler working in wood cabinetry. Gus was a proud Army veteran where he served as an MP at Fort Gordon, Ga. and Ft. Dix, N.J. Throughout his life Gus was known for his readiness to help a friend and will be remembered for always being there in a time of need. He was married to Claire Koppel Brunkhorst on September 8, 1979. He is a long standing member and past president of the Schenectady Curling Club, where he was recipient of the 2001 Dugid Award for service, former Ballston Spa C.C. and lower Mohawk Club. Gus was a member of the ladder league at the Edison Club in Rexford. He was predeceased by his parents, August and Loretta Aims Brunkhorst and by his brother, Gerard Brunkhorst. Survivors include his wife, Claire Brunkhorst of Rexford; a son, Michael Brunkhorst and his wife Andrea of Pearl River, N.Y.; a daughter, Karen Ringier of Bushkill, Pa.; three grandchildren, Samantha and Chelsea Brunkhorst and Jenna Goldband. Canfield, Lina MECHANICVILLE Mrs. Lina Lee Esposito Canfield, 79, of South Main St., died Thursday evening, July 15, 2004 at her home, after a short illness, in the company of her loving family. A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, she was born November 29, 1924, daughter of the late Gaetano and Angelina Legnante Esposito. During a long career as a legal secretary, Mrs. Canfield worked for the NYS Department of Transportation in the legal affairs office for 21 years, before retirement. Previously, she was the secretary to the dean of students for Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs for a number of years. She was a member of Christian Brothers Academy Mothers Assoc., a devoted member of the Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville and the church rosary altar society. An avid reader, she also enjoyed baking her family's favorite cakes and cookies and was most proud of her daughters and son and their families. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Benjamin C. Canfield; three daughters, Susan (John) Barber of Reno, Nev., Christina (Gregg) Ouderkirk of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Clifton Park Supervisor Anita (Robert) Daly of Clifton Park; and a son, Benjamin J. (Chris) Canfield of Huntington Beach, Calif.; adoring grandmother of Matthew and Andrew Barber, Jonathan DiNisio, James and Benjamin Ouderkirk, Kristen and Eric Rice, Michael and Erin Daly; and sister of Joseph Esposito of Saratoga Lake, along with many nieces and nephews. Cicchinelli, 76, of Devitt Rd., died suddenly Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital after being stricken at her residence. Jean was a lifelong Waterford resident and was a graduate of Waterford Halfmoon High School. Davenport, 91, of Halfmoon Dr., died Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, N.Y. She was born June 29, 1913 in Walden, N.Y. and was the daughter of the late John and Sadie (VanGorden) Sprague. She graduated from New Paltz State Normal School where she obtained her degree in teaching. Her love of children and teaching was shared for the next 40 years, teaching elementary education in the Troy and Waterford school systems and later retiring from Shenendehowa School District. She was a member of Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, New York State Teachers Association and AARP. Besides Maude's unconditional devotion, support and love for her family, she enjoyed crafts, scrap booking, sewing, crocheting and flowers. Beloved wife to the late Charles Davenport Sr.; loving mother to Willis Davenport of Atlanta, Ga., Janis Chevalier of Ariz. and the late Ross and Warren Davenport and Patricia Wagner; sister to the late Trember and Matilda Sprague; cherished grandmother to 19 blessed grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Heilbronn, Germany on November 16, 1914 to Ferdinand and Lina (Wertheim) Deubert. He came to the United States in 1927 with his parents and siblings. Ferdinand attended school in Kingston, N.Y. before moving to Coxsackie. He served in the Merchant Marine in the Pacific during World War II. He earned his license as a diesel engineer and worked for many years as chief engineer on the tugboat, Samson, for Standard Oil. After leaving Standard Oil, he worked as a stationary engineer for New York State at Coxsackie Correctional until his retirement. He was a licensed ham radio operator and a member of the Rip Van Winkle Amateur Radio Society. Ferdinand was predeceased by his brother, Helmut and sister-in-law, Hazel Deubert, and nephew, Wayne Morgan. He is survived by his sister, Irene (Ted) Morgan of Fla; nephews, Roy Morgan of Fla. and Michael (Linda) Deubert of Coxsackie; and great-nephews, Mark and Brian Deubert. Born in Troy, September 18, 1943, she was the daughter of Mrs. Rose Pignuolo Casile of Troy and the late Gerolamo Casile. A 1961 graduate of Catholic Central High School, she also received a degree from Albany Business College. Mrs. Pascucci was a medical secretary for most of her career, working for Dr. Donald Paish, Dr. Bulato and Dr. Castro, all of Troy. She belonged to the WIBC Tuesday Nite bowling league and the Assumption-St. Paul Church of Mechanicville. Rosemary loved and enjoyed her family and cherished her grandson. Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband of 29 years, Anthony F. Pascucci; three daughters, Pamela (Vincent) Aiardo, Gina Marie and Tricia Ann Pascucci, all of Mechanicville; grandson, Vincent J. Rogers, 53, of Wertman Lane, died Thursday, July 15, 2004 at Community Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Ithaca, N.Y., he graduated from Newfield High School and attended Corning Community College. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He moved to the Capital District in 1989. He worked for New York Telephone and the Bell System for 34 years, first as a telephone installer and retiring from Avaya Communication in 2002 as a field operations manager. He then went to work for Expanets until his illness in July of 2003. Art was on the advisory board of ITT Technical Institute and was the 2002 commencement speaker. He was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales in Loudonville. Art was a man of many talents. He was willing to take on any task, big or small, including building his own home. He had a huge heart and was kind and generous to all. His sense of humor was one of a kind, especially with his sister-in-law, Kris. She worked for many years in loan servicing for several area loan companies. She enjoyed swimming and walking. Shea, 77, of Albany, beloved husband of Anna (Kearns) Shea for 55 years, died at his residence Wednesday, July 14, 2004. He was born in Albany, the son of the late Joseph and Sarah (McGloine) Shea. Mr. Shea was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired after 20 years of service from the Albany County Airport, serving as a sheriff deputy and security guard. He was a member of the VFW Post 1019 in Albany. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children, John Shea, Carol VanWie, Susan Shea, Jerry Shea of Albany, Michael (Kathleen) Shea of Rensselaer and Eileen (Edward) Kruzinski of Delanson. Mr. Sibincich had worked for 48 years as a sheet metal worker working out of Albany Local #83 and as a union roofer working out of Albany local #241. He served during the Korean War in the Army, serving in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion, the CRAB club, Emerald Athletic Club in Troy and a former member of the Polish American Club and the VFW. He is survived by his children, David L. Frank was a beloved husband, brother, son, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife, Sally Knauf Volks. Frank is the brother of Bonnie (Brian) Noonan of Albany and the late Marilyn (Frank) Mulqueen of Troy. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. As commissioner of public works for the City of Rensselaer, Frank was dedicated to the well being of the city and was well known throughout. After his retirement, he was looking forward to recapturing his love of fishing and enjoying the outdoors with his family and his dalmatian, Brandy. ALBANY Joseph Anthony Yorio, 83, of Albany, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home. He was born on June 27, 1921 in Corning, N.Y. to Pius Anthony and Anna Barbaro Yorio. Mr. Yorio attended Alfred University in Alfred, N.Y. and served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945, attaining the rank of motor machinist's mate first class. Joseph worked as a sales engineer for R.J. Murray Heating and Air Conditioning in Colonie for over 25 years before retiring in 1982. He was a member of Christ the King Church in Westmere, the Westmere Volunteer Fire Department and charter member of the Guilderland Elks Lodge #2480 B.P.O.E. and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joseph is survived by his wife, Sylvia M. (Bonomo) Yorio; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. and Joanne C. Yorio; a daughter, Judith M. Yorio; three brothers, Anthony, Francis and Pius Yorio; two sisters, Katherine Marmuschak and Helen Woeppel; three grandchildren, Philip, Michael and Monica Yorio. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9:00 at the Beilby Funeral Home, 139 Walnut Street, Corning, N.Y. (607) 936-9121, then to St. Mary's Church, 155 State St., Corning at 9:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Beilby Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning.
