Bresee of Union Avenue, died Friday, July 23, 2004 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was 60. Born on June 3, 1944 in Gloversville, he was the son of W. Audrey (Mercer) Bresee and the late William Nelson Bresee. A long time resident of Gloversville, Ron attended Gloversville Schools and went on to join the U.S. Navy where he was able to complete his high school education while stationed aboard the USS Intrepid. He served during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1969 and then joined the U.S. Army National Guard where he served until his retirement in 1999. Ron was a member of the Gurtler Brothers Post 420 Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Adirondack Post 70, both in Saratoga Springs, as well as the USS Intrepid Former Crew Members Association. He was a member of the Round Lake United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing at Beaver Pond and loved spending time with all of his friends. In addition to his mother of Saratoga Springs, he is survived by two daughters, Brenda Hensy-Bresee of Stillwater and Jamie DeFoe and her husband, Joseph of Greenfield Center; a son, Rodney Bresee and his wife, Shelly of Wilton; a sister, Lu Ann Gossett and her husband, Stan of Pelham, Ala.; his grandchildren, Rodney Bresee Jr., Alyson Bresee, Dennis and Josh Hensy, and Tyler and William DeFoe; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Lisa and Nicholas Gossett, all of Pelham, Ala.; and many friends including Dr. Neil Trachman and Paul Miles. Born in Canada, she was the daughter of the late Leopold and Camilia Bouvrette Ladouceur. Anita was a waitress for over 50 years with both the former Branch's Drug Store on South Pearl Street and Basil's Restaurant on State Street. Her husband in 1967, Joseph Burek, predeceased her. She was the dear mother of Mary Celella (Carl) of Defreestville, Joseph W. Burek (Carol) of Benicia, Calif., Suzanne Tymann of Albany and a late infant son, Raymond Burek; grandmother of Carl D., Gregory, Joseph, Darin, Brandon, Deborah, Michele and Christopher; sister of Guy and Philip Ladouceur, Theresa Szkotak, Paul Ladouceur and the late Lucienne Ernye, Raymond and Leo Ladouceur; several nieces and nephews; eight great-grandchildren also survive. Butch, 46, of Timber Ledge, East Greenbush, died Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Westchester Medical Center, due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident on July 16. A lifelong area resident, Mr. Butch was born in Schenectady, he was the son of Patricia Carey Butch and the late Edward C. Butch. He was a graduate of Schenectady public schools, SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Albany with a degree in accounting. He was an associate accountant for the NYS Dept. of Mental Health. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed many memorable trips. He was a special fun loving person who will be sadly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Survivors are, his mother, Patricia Carey Butch of Schenectady; his beloved companion, Patricia Madia and her daughter, Maggie; two sisters, Cynthia Bentley of Niskayuna and Marcia Setaro and her husband Robert of Poughkeepsie; nieces and nephew, Andria Bentley, Brian and Amanda Setaro. (Satchell) Cahill, 81, died Friday, July 23, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy after a lengthy illness. Born in Brooklyn, Irene moved her family to Rensselaer in 1960. After retiring from clerical work, she babysat her granddaughter, Christine (Glatz) Rea, and volunteered at the Rensselaer Senior Center. In connection with the center, she acted in several plays, performed as Heartburn the Clown, taught other seniors how to play Skip-Bo and went on numerous trips with her friend, Marilyn Woods of Defreestville. Irene was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Harold Cahill and both her brothers, Harold and Walter Satchell. She is survived by her daughter, Lauretta C. (Frederick) Glatz of Rensselaer; three sons, Patrick J. (Ellen) Cahill and Michael (Atinuke) Cahill of N.H. and Richard (Linda) Cahill of Conn.; a sister, Lorraine Cushing of Rensselaer; also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Gisotti, Leonard N. GUILDERLAND Leonard N. Gisotti, 77, of Guilderland, died Friday, July 23, 2004 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home after a long illness. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Domenic and Mary DePierro Gisotti. He was a World War II Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific and European Theatre. Lee was employed with Niagara Mohawk Power Company for 39 years, retiring as a foreman in 1987. Mr. Gisotti was active in Pinebush Little League, Guilderland Pop Warner, Guilderland High School and its booster club. He was always ready to help others and was particularly loved by the youth in his community. He is the beloved husband of 57 years to Dorothy Cioppa Gisotti. He is the devoted father of Dominick Gisotti and his wife Susan of Glenville and Joseph Gisotti and his wife Denise of Delmar. He is the brother of Ann O'Donnell and her husband Edward of Guilderland, Theresa Brent of Roxboro, N.C. and the late Nickolas Gisotti. He is the cherished grandfather of Robert (Kim), Jennifer, Leah and Lt. Karen J. Gisotti, D.O.; great-grandfather of Gianni and Gabriella Gisotti. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Hackett, Sister Mary Kevin WATERVLIET Sr. Mary Kevin Hackett, PBVM, 95, died Thursday, July 22, 2004 at St. Colman's Presentation Convent in Watervliet. The daughter of Irish immigrants, Sr. Mary Kevin was born in Elizabeth, N.J. on April 23, 1909. She was raised in Jersey City, N.J. where she was a parishioner of Our Lady of Snows Parish. She attended St. Patrick's School and St. Aloysius Academy, both in Jersey City, and later graduated from the Grace Institute, a business college, in New York City. Prior to entering the convent, Sr. Mary Kevin was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City for 24 years. She entered religious life on May 14, 1953 and was received into the Order of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on November 17, 1953. She professed her first vows on November 17, 1955 and made her final profession on November 17, 1958. Sr. Mary Kevin attended the College of St. Rose and received a bachelor of arts degree in education. In September of 1974, she was certified to teach all grades, including nursery school and kindergarten. Throughout her religious life, Sr. Mary Kevin taught in all of the local schools administered to by the Sisters of the Presentation. Sister was the daughter of the late James and Bridget Deignan Hackett and was also predeceased by three brothers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Coleman's Chapel, Watervliet, N.Y. by the Reverend Kenneth Gregory, chaplain. Interment will follow in St. Coleman's Cemetery. Anna Louise Hamilton, age 90, died July 21, 2004 at the Daytona Beach Rehab Center in Daytona Beach. Louise suffered for nine years with Alzheimer's Disease. Louise had formerly lived in Malden Bridge, N.Y. before moving to Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Russell Hamilton Sr.; her parents, Benjamin and Rosia Cowan; and a brother, Allen Cowan. She is survived by her children, Frank R. Born and raised in Troy, Irving was the son of the late Reginald J. Jones and Josephine Doherty Jones and beloved husband of Marjorie A. Murray Jones of Brunswick for 57 years. Mr. Jones was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, class of 1938. After graduation, he attended Roosevelt Aviation School on Long Island and became an aircraft mechanic with Trans World Airways at LaGuardia Field. He enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre as a B-29 bomber pilot in the 20th Air Force, 58th Bomb Wing, flying combat missions from Tinian. After military service, he worked as an aircraft mechanic at the former Troy Airport on Campbell Avenue. Later, he was a manufacturing process engineer with the Ford Motor Co. in Green Island for 26 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the 20th Air Force Association; Experimental Aircraft Association; Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the Quiet Birdmen. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Marjorie, include two sons, Richard M. Jones (Judith) of Granby, Conn., Ronald J. Jones (Debra) of Latham and a daughter, Kathryn A. Messemer (Randy) of Brunswick; six grandchildren, Meaghan and Tyler Hickey of Brunswick, Courtney and Nicholas Jones of Latham and Katherine and Cynthia Jones of Granby, Conn.; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Langlois, Anna May REXFORD Mrs. Anna May Langlois, 84, Coberg Village Way, Rexford, N.Y., formerly of Main Street, Massena, died Monday evening, July 19, 2004 at her home. She had recently moved to Rexford in March. She was born on September 7, 1919 in Pa., the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Della May (Brotzman) Illick. She graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree. She married Learned J. Langlois on August 19, 1959 at the First English Lutheran Church, Syracuse. Mr. Langlois died October 26, 2002. Before her marriage, she was an executive assistant at Haylor, Hahn, Fryor Insurance in Syracuse. After marriage, she and her husband owned and operated Langlois Agency, a real estate and insurance company, Massena. After closing their business, she became the business manager for Ed Kaneb Apartments, Massena, retiring in July 2003. She was a member of the Cretona Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star #513 and active member of the Massena Republican Club. She was a member of the Emmanuel Congregation United Church of Christ, where she served as the treasurer for several years. She enjoyed working very much and being with her family. She was a very devoted wife and mother. She was known for her warm humor and her generosity for others. She was the children's angel on earth. She is survived by her children, Dell Langlois and Lanna Langlois, both of Waterford, N.Y., Janet Langlois and George Vollmuth, NYC and North Chatham, N.Y., Joel and Theresa Langlois, East Greenbush, N.Y., Barbara and Bernard LaGrave, Schenectady, N.Y., Carol and William Long, Yulee, Fla., Joan and Joseph Richardson, Slingerlands, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Medical Center for 30 years, retiring in 1983, and earlier had been a member of the Albany Painters Union. He was an avid hunter with his pal, Earl Langenbach. Husband of the late Elizabeth A. Mrs. O'Meara was a homemaker all of her life and was employed at one time as a cashier at the Mohican Market in Troy and was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Parish. Reid, James COLONIE James Reid, 83, of Baker Avenue in Colonie, died in his sleep on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at his home. He was husband of the late Edna Giles Reid. Born in Cohoes, son of the late Robert and Angeline Bellrose Reid, he resided in Green Island from 1945 until 1969 when he moved to Colonie. He was a 1939 graduate of Lansingburgh High School and served his country as a member of the US Navy during World War II. Jim worked as an electrician for many years before becoming the business agent for Local 438 IBEW from 1975 until retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Green Island. Survivors include his devoted daughter, Judith (Harry) Jensen of Colonie; his loving granddaughters, Jenna (Mark) Myers of Latham and Erica (Christopher) Kelsey of Loudonville. He was the brother of Robert (Constance) Reid of Daytona Beach, Fla. and the late Muriel Hepp. Funeral services will be held at the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Avenue, Green Island on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Siegel, Della Lillian ALBANY Della Lillian Silverman Siegel, age 82, of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany, died Friday morning, July 23, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Mrs. Siegel was born in Utica, N.Y., and later moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. where she married her late husband, Harry G. Siegel. They were married for 43 years until his passing in 2002. While residing in Brooklyn, Mrs. Siegel was an administrative secretary for Brooklyn College. In 1961, she and her husband relocated to Spring Valley, N.Y. She was employed by Rockland Community College from 1966 to 1970. She was a member of Temple Beth El in Spring Valley, N.Y. for many years. As an active member of the temple, she was a member of their choir for more than 20 years. Mrs. Siegel and her late husband Harry participated and were actively involved with the Adult Education Program at Temple Beth El. She had been a resident of the Capital District since 2000, having resided at Alterra Wynwood in Niskayuna. For the last year and a half, she has been a resident of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center. She was also a member of Workmen's Circle and Hadassah. She enjoyed the arts and theater. She had a love for music and was well known for her knowledge of trivia in many areas such as movie stars, song titles and authors. She also enjoyed sewing. Most of all, Della's greatest pleasure was her devotion to her family. She is survived by her loving daughter, Etta Fink and her husband Steven Fink of Latham, N.Y. She was the proud and cherished grandmother of Jeremy Fink. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Paula Silverman Roth, and a brother, Maxwell Silverman. Born and raised in Czechoslovakia, Maria met and married her husband, the late Walter Sipos, in occupied Germany in 1949. After settling in the Capital area, Maria worked as a clerk for the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Albany for many years before retiring in 1995. Spillane Sr., of Lincoln Ave., Troy, died peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital after a short illness. Stephen was the son of the late Thomas Spillane and Catherine Connell Spillane. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School. He was employed by the United States Post Office at Karner Road, Colonie for 32 years, retiring in 1990.
