ALTAMONT Robert E. Barbagelott, 64, died Friday, May 28, 2004 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Albany, the son of the late Robert J. and Florence Barbagelott. He spent many years in Altamont and was a 1957 graduate of Guilderland High School. Mr. Barbagelott served in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring after 20 years and was a Vietnam veteran. He then received his BA from Old Dominion University in Virginia. He was the brother of Keith J. Barbagelott of New Orleans, La. and the late Edward Barbagelott; uncle of Jason and Daniel Barbagelott of Columbus, Ga. There will be no services. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. BREWSTER, Mass. Richard C. Bower, age 69, died at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, on Friday, May 28, 2004. He is the husband of Ann M. (Gackenheimer) Bower of Brewster, Mass. for 30 years. Mr. Bower was born in Syracuse, N.Y. and lived in several cities in that state. He served in the U.S. Air Force where he achieved the rank of captain. After graduating from Union College in 1956, he continued studying for an advanced degree at SUNY College of Technology. He was employed at NY Telephone Co. as a division manager and taught telecommunications at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). As a former Eagle Scout, he was dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America, also receiving the Silver Beaver Award. Most recently, he was active with Jr. Achievement, Kiwanis, and a communicant of Our Lady of Cape Church. He and his wife moved to Brewster, Mass. in 2002 from Buffalo, N.Y. where he had summered for many years. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Daniel Bower of Oak Hill, Va., John J. Simonian of Wellfleet; four daughters, Christine Bower of N.Y., N.Y., Susan Bower Clark of Duxbury, Jayne Rinaldi of Troy, N.Y., Becky Simonian of Marcy, N.Y.; one sister, Rev. Cameron passed away on May 26, 2004 at the age of 100. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Cameron, to whom she had been married for 59 years. Survivors include her sons, Charles B. Cameron Jr. of Morgan Hill, Calif., Edward M. Cameron II of Albany and Bruce Cameron of Palm Desert, Calif.; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild as well as a brother and sister. She was born in Chicago, Ill. and graduated from Mt. Holyoke College in 1924. She served as an officer and on the boards of directors of many local organizations, including the Visiting Nurses Association, the YWCA, the Legal Aid Society, the Albany Academy Mothers' Association, the Junior League and the First Presbyterian Church, of which she was the oldest living member. Clarke, Rosamond Coolidge CLIFTON PARK Rosamond Coolidge Clarke, 84, of Clifton Park and Kennebunk Beach, Maine, died Sunday, May 30, 2004 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, N.Y. She had lived in Woodstock, Vt. for over 50 years. She was the wife of the late Frederick Colton Clarke, Jr. and the daughter of the late Henry James Coolidge and Gladys Isabelle Trowbridge. She was born July 7, 1919 in Kennebunk Beach, Maine. Rosamond was a proud graduate of Emma Willard School and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, League of Women Voters, Girls Scouts of America, troop leader, volunteer librarian at the Woodstock Elementary School, Woodstock Recreational Center, member of Woodstock Country Club, Emma Willard Alumni Association, former officer of Kennebunk Beach Improvement Association; member of the Edgecomb Tennis Club. She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Elizabeth B. Clarke of Torrington, Conn. and Martha C. Dedrick and her husband, Charles of Wynantskill; five grandchildren, Laura Clarke of Torrington, Conn., Kaylee, Steven, William and Anna Dedrick, all of Wynantskill; two nieces; one nephew. Conley, 98, of Francis Street, died Sunday morning at Saratoga Hospital after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, Mary was born July 6 1905. Daughter of the late John T. and Elizabeth Cunningham Conley. Mary was a graduate of Mechanicville High School and Troy Business College, and had been a stenographer for the N.Y. S. Departments of Health and Transportation for over 38 years. Mary enjoyed raising flowers on her property, was a communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church, Mechanicville, and the Catholic Daughters of America. Mary was the matriarch of her large family, looking after her brothers and sisters, and her cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, William, John, Joe, Atrhur, Francis and sister Monica Conley, as well as nieces and nephews, Michael Nolan, Jack Conley, Katie Peluso, Patricia Canavan, Shelia Ronda, Peggy Coleman, Althea Golden, Tom and Edmund Kelly and David Conley. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Fred and Elizabeth Trembley Foster. He was the husband of the late Rose Valerio Foster. He had lived most of his life in Cohoes and in 1971 moved to Colonie. He worked at Montgomery Wards as a Department Manager for 30 years retiring in 1978. He was an avid golfer. Survivors include a son Earl W. (Susan) Foster, Jr. of Middletown, Conn.; a sister, Genevieve Green of Clifton Park; his dear friend, Mrs. Frances Carr of Colonie. A Cohoes High School graduate of 1969, Donna was a homemaker, who for a number of years, served the late Dr. Rudolph Coletti, MD, as an office receptionist. A past president and member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Newland-Wood Fire Dept. of Stillwater, Donna enjoyed ceramics and crafts, but most of all, looking after her family and especially her grandchildren. Survivors in addition to her father, include her husband of 34 years, Ronald D. Minor; a son, Theodore J. Minor and daughters Doreen and husband Michael Doesbury, and Tracy Minor all of Stillwater. Her father, Daniel, founded the Schenectady Lumber Co. on Freeman's Bridge Road and Florence worked with her brothers at the family business for 25 years. She then began a retail Hallmark Card Store, the Card and Gift Gallery on Curry Road, which she owned and operated with her, husband, Benjamin for many years. Florence was active with the Carmelite Monastery on Duane Avenue in Schenectady and was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. She is survived by her husband, Benjamin J. Restifo; one son, Richard J. DiCresce, Jr. of Scotia; one daughter, Debora M. Kinns of Berne; two brothers, Lewis and Anthony Polsinelli, both of Glenville; one sister, Phyllis Mastroianni of Burnt Hills. Maude was married for 57 years to Walter E. Smith, Sr. of Stuyvesant until his passing in January, 2000. A lifetime resident of Stuyvesant, she spent the last four years in Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie where her family made daily visits to see her and assist with her care. Survivors are her son, Walter E. Smith, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Stuyvesant and daughter Diane Cooper of Castleton; grandchildren, Brian Smith and Lisa Cartwright, both of Stuyvesant, Glen Cooper of Ashburn, Va., Michelle Warner of Lakeview, NY, and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Carlie Warner of Lakeview. VOORHEESVILLE Eleanor S. Vanderburgh, 93, of Voorheesville, died Saturday, May 29, 2004 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center, after a prolonged illness. She was born in Granville and is the last of 13 children of the late William and Ellen Davies. Eleanor was a true homemaker and her family's cohesiveness was very special to her. She enjoyed cooking, wallpapering, sewing, painting and boating. Eleanor had been a Sunday school teacher at First Congregational Church in Albany for many years. She is survived by her belovedhusband of 73 years, LeRoy P. Vanderburgh; devoted mother of Shirley Greene and her husband, Waldo and the late Ronald P. Vanderburgh; grandmother of Sue (Frank) Vitale, Cindy (Glen) Curley, Sherrie West, Beth Blaufuss (Jay) and Sally Morgan (Patrick); also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
