Gail graduated from Maple Hill High School in Castleton and attended Hudson Valley Community College. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, she was proud to help several families in the area maintain spotless homes. Gail was the doting aunt of Tricia Ferra, Page Ferra, Linda Sue Ferra, Galen Farris, John Mott, Corrine Mott, Shane Baldwin, Katherine Juliano, Victoria Juliano and Patrick Wolf. CLARKSVILLE Milton W. Barber, 83, of Clarksville died Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center. Born in Westerlo on August 4, 1920, he was the son of the late Casper and Maysel E. (Shufelt) Barber. For many years Milton ran an egg delivery route in Albany, started by his father in 1927. He had a love for animals, raising and caring for rabbits, ducks and geese. Milton is survived by his brother, Merle D. Barber of Clarksville. Private burial will be in Westerlo Rural Cemetery. Burkhart, Sister Rita ALBANY Daughter of Charity Sister Rita Burkhart, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at St. Louise House in Menands. Daughter of Albert and Mary Wells Burkhart, Mary Rita was born in 1912 and grew up in Altoona, Pa. In 1931 she completed her nursing studies and moved to the Panama Canal to begin her nursing career. Sister Rita entered the Daughters of Charity in Emmitsburg, Md. in 1940. She earned a master's degree in psychiatric nursing from Catholic University in 1951. Subsequent years were spent as a nurse educator in a variety of health settings in Pensacola, Fla.; Baltimore Md.; Deerborne and Detroit, Mich. Sister also served as a psychiatric nurse at Nazareth Child Care Center and St. John of God Hospital, both in Boston Mass.; and Astor Home for Children, Rhinebeck, N.Y. From 1982 to 1997 Sister Rita was a teacher of psychiatric nursing in Laboure Junior College, Boston, Mass. She moved to St. Louise House in January of 1997. Sister had a wonderful sense of humor and loved classical music and enjoyed cats. Survivors include her nephews, John Love and his wife Rosemary of Mashpee, Mass. and James Love of Fairhope, Ala. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Provincial House Chapel. Calling hours will be Friday 4-7 p.m. at the Provincial House with a wake service at 7:00 pm. Chamberlin, 95, died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at Evergreen Commons Health Care Facility, East Greenbush. She was born May 17, 1909 in Newburgh, N.Y., daughter of Walter and Ann Purdy Kreeper. She lived in Newburgh until 1946 and then moved to Albany when her husband was transferred there. She lived in Buffalo from 1956 until 1996. She was involved in many voluntary activities all her life. She was the widow of Weldon F. Chamberlin. He died in Buffalo in 1995, shortly after celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. She moved to the Beverwyck Apartments, Slingerlands, shortly after his death then to the Terrace at Beverwyck. She is a member of North Presbyterian Church, Williamsville, N.Y. She is survived by her son, Bernon, and daughter-in-law, Lorraine, of North Greenbush; a granddaughter, Loron Oster of Hilton, N.Y.; two grandsons, Bruce Chamberlin of Philadelphia, Pa., Keith Chamberlin of Barnet, Vt.; and five great-grandchildren. Helen wants to be remembered by the following poem: Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond's glint of snow. I am the sunlight on ripening grain, I am the gentle autumn's rain. Born in Albany, he was the son of John and Carol Leddick Cioffi of Lansingburgh. John was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, class of 1996, and received his bachelor's degree from Plattsburg State College. He was currently employed as a waiter for Kirker's Steak House in Latham. Survivors in addition to his parents include his sister, Christine Gordon of Troy; grandmothers, Dorothy Carroll and Rita Cioffi, both of Troy; and his beloved niece, Alexis Gordon. STEPHENTOWN Anna Wassilie Clemons, 49, of Oak Way, died on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at Berkshire Medical Center after a valiant fight against breast cancer. Born November 2, 1954 in Bethel, Alaska, she was the daughter of the late Evon and Marie Wassilie. She was the loving wife of Charles A. Clemons Sr., whom she married in Pittsfield, Mass. on September 25, 1981. Anna was raised and educated in Anchorage, Alaska. She met her husband there on Valentine's Day, 1980 while he was in the service. They lived on the West Coast until settling in Stephentown in 1992. Anna was a homemaker and devoted mother. She loved craft work and their children's activities. Survivors besides her husband include her foster parents, Robert and Connie Merrill of Anchorage, Alaska; three sons, Sam C. Wassilie of Pittsfield, Charles A. Clemons Jr. and Kevin P. Clemons, both of Stephentown; and a grandson, Casey Anthony Wassilie. Craig, 85, formerly of Eugene Dr., Rotterdam, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Born in Schenectady, he was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and also attended RPI and Union College. During World War II, he served aboard the USS McDermut in the Pacific Theatre. John worked for many years as a technician for the General Electric Co. where he was employed for over 40 years and retired in 1980. John was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and was an avid golfer. He was predeceased by his brother, Vincent Craig; his sister, Margaret Craig; and his loving wife, Jessie D. Craig, who died in 2002. Survivors include his sons, Dr. James A. Craig and his wife, Mary, of Mount Holly, N.J. and Russell J. Born in Lodz, Poland to David and Rose Goldberg, Mrs. Geizer came to the United States as a young child. She lived in New York City until moving to the Capital District in 1995. Mrs. Geizer was employed in the garment industry and was a retired member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Mrs. Geizer was the beloved wife of the late Max Geizer and a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Bernard Geizer (Barbara) of Clifton Park, N.Y. and Ronald Geizer (Gigi) of Durham, N.C.; three grandchildren, Jodi Krampf of Nashua, N.H., Erik Geizer of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and Emily Geizer of Durham, N.C.; and her great-grandson, Matthew Krampf. Hicks, 81, of Troy, beloved husband of Barbara Frazee Hicks for over 56 years, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born and educated in Troy, he was the son of the late Ernest and Jessie Stewart Hicks. He was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School. Mr. Hicks was a gunners mate in the United States Navy during World War II stationed in the Pacific and the recipient of 6 Battle Stars. Mr Hicks was an industrial engineer technician at the Watervliet Arsenal for over 37 years and retired in 1978. After his retirement he worked for himself in the electrical and plumbing business for many years. He was active in Little League and Babe Ruth for many years in the Center Brunswick area. He was a lifelong resident of the city of Troy. Mr Hicks was a member of the Foreman's Association and the 20 Years Club at the Watervliet Arsenal. He was a Life member of the veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7466 in Poestenkill and the American Legion Poestenskill. Mr. Hicks was an avid bowler for many years. He had a special love for his family and grandchildren. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children, Cheryl (Charles) Bell of Hamburg, N.Y. and Brad (Pat) Hicks of Latham; his three cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Brate, Scott and his wife Lynne Hicks, Nicole Hicks and Mark Brate all of Latham. She was the wife of the late Raymond E. Johnson. Berthe was employed as a seamstress for over fifty years in the textile industry, working with Troy District Shirt Co., Ides Shirt and Cluett Peabody of Troy. She was a communicant of St. Bernard's Parish, Cohoes. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was gifted in making and designing her own greeting cards and envelopes. Surviving are her children, Carol and her husband Robert Simpson, Kenneth and his wife Cathy Johnson, all of Cohoes; her cherished grandchildren, Eric J., Jason R. and Brian C. He was born in Albany, was raised in East Greenbush and has been a resident of Albany for many years. Mr. Killion was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving as a master sergeant in a field artillery battalion in Sicily, Anzio, France and Germany. He retired as a machinist from Huyck Mills in Rensselaer in 1980, where he worked for 35 years. Mr. Killion was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in Loudonville. Kropp, Goldie Anna RENSSELAERVILLE Goldie Anna Kropp, 85 years, of Rensselaerville, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany, N.Y. She was known for her joyful spirit, contagious sense of humor and kidding remarks. Goldie was born in Chase Lake, N.Y. on December 29, 1918, daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth Badics Molnar. She graduated from Berne-Knox Central School in the Class of 1936. Goldie was the wife of the late John Kropp; together they ran a dairy farm for many years. For the last 32 years, she worked for Hickory Hill. Goldie was an extremely active member of the Hiawatha Grange for 60 years, a charter member of the Rensselaerville Ambulance Squad and a charter member of the Rensselaerville Ladies Battalion of which she served as secretary for many years until her illness earlier this year. Formerly a defensive driving instructor for the certified points reduction course for New York State. Goldie is survived by a son, Thomas J. Kropp and his wife, Donna, of Rensselaerville; a grandson, Jeremey Kropp of Albany, N.Y. and a granddaughter, Jaclyn Kropp of Ithaca, N.Y. Also surviving are her sisters, Helen Stradley of College Station, Texas, Irene Bodi and her husband, Michael of East Greenbush, N.Y.; a brother, Joseph Farkas Jr. and his wife, Vera of Westerlo, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. Mangione, 53, of Latham, beloved husband of Linda Malsan Mangione, died suddenly Wednesday morning, June 9, 2004 at Glens Falls Hospital. Tim was born in Troy, the son of Alfred Edward Mangione of Glenville and the late Shirley Laffety Mangione. Tim received an associates degree in civil engineering from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy and was currently a civil engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation in Schenectady where he worked for the last 33 years. Tim lived in Latham since 1991 and served in the U.S. Army National Guard as a medic for four years. He was a member of the Eastern New York Chapter of the Association for Bridge Construction and Design Inc. He was a member of the Mendelssohn Club of Albany for 10 years and a member of the Public Employees Federation. Tim enjoyed doing everything with his wife, Linda, who is the love of his life. They enjoyed traveling in the United States, the Caribbean and Mexico. His special favorite was Puerto Vallarta, where he spent many happy days swimming, snorkeling and enjoying beautiful sunsets. Tim was very fond of his little car and loved driving his Miata in the Adirondacks. The fellowship Tim experienced with the Mendelssohn Club was very important to him. Tim was happiest when he was spending time with Linda at their camp in Diamond Point on Lake George and on their boat, Cuddlin' Cuddy. He enjoyed watching sunrises and sunsets, picnicking on various islands, anchoring in their favorite bay in the Mother Bunch and he was never tired of touring the lake. The Captain enjoyed sharing these things with their closest companions, Debi and Chris, John and Karen, Chris and Mike Nystoriak, Rose and Dick Phillips and Daryl and Doug Ferguson. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his stepson, Christopher L. Rouse and his wife, Debra of Colonie. He is also survived by a brother, David P. Mangione and his wife Catherine of Niskayuna; a sister, Deborah S. Miller and her husband Richard of Glenville; his uncles and aunts, John F. and Karen Mangione of Colonie, Robert N. and Rita Laffety of Stuyvesant; his two children, Scott C. She retired from the New York Telephone Company as a clerk and previously worked for the State of New York. Helen was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Watervliet. Her husband, Henry W. McGurn, predeceased her. She was the mother of Thomas P. McGurn (Debra) of Slingerlands, James W. McGurn of Watervliet, Donna J. Weiman of Mass., Linda McGurn of Ariz., William McGurn (Linda) of Clifton Park and the late Richard and Karen McGurn; grandmother of Danielle, Michelle, Matthew, Meaghan and Kelsey; sister of Mary McGarry (Ben) of Watervliet and the late June Richards; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive. Meehan, Shirley CLIFTON PARK Shirley Siegel Meehan passed away Thursday, June 10, 2004 at the age of 85 after a ten-year struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Mineola, she was a graduate of Mineola High School. In 1958, she began working for American Improved Products where she worked until moving to Clifton Park in 1999. Shirley was a past president and volunteer for many years as a member of the Mineola chapter of United Cerebral Palsy Association. A lifelong fan of Broadway plays, she organized yearly bus trips to New York City for friends and family. She was also renowned for her poker skills and was a long-standing member of the Tuesday night Pok-er-Nuts. Her exceptional math skills were luckily passed on to her grandchildren. Shirley was a beloved wife of the late Harold P. (Mike) Meehan; mother of Patricia LoPresti (Bob) of Clifton Park and Harry Meehan (Elizabeth) of Ballston Spa; loving grandmother of Michael J.
