Born March 9, 1926 in Quaker Springs, N.Y., she was the daughter of Arthur and Margaret Millett Hathaway. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Duane A. Brown, and two brothers, Thomas and George Hathaway. Survivors include two sons, Duane T. Brown and his wife Diane of Saratoga Springs and Bruce Brown and his wife Joyce of Saratoga Springs; one daughter, Barbara Murphy and her husband Bob of Mechanicville; two sisters, Josie DeGregory and her husband John of Saratoga Springs and Jeanne Gailor and her husband Edward of Groton, Conn.; two brothers, Robert Hathaway and his wife Peg of Saratoga Springs and Donald Hathaway and his wife Lil of Ballston Spa; her sister-in-law, Mena Hathaway of Northumberland; her grandchildren, Tim and David Brown, Meagan and Andy Brown, Maggie, Bobby and Kelly Murphy; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2004, Notre Dame-Visitation Church with the Rev. Christopher Welch officiating. Cahill, Ellen (McCarthy) LATHAM Ellen McCarthy Cahill of Latham died Monday, June 28, 2004 peacefully at the home of her daughter after a brief illness. Born in Troy, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late James A. and Grace Hanley McCarthy. She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Jack Cahill Jr., who passed away in 1990. Together, she and Jack were a team very actively involved in I.A.A.B.O., Adirondack Board 36, New York State High School Basketball Officials. She attended Catholic Central High School in Troy and prior to the birth of her children, she was the executive secretary to the chairman of the New York State Workmens' Compensation Board. After raising her children, she worked in the New York State Senate as secretary to former State Senators Lloyd Patterson, John Calandra and Guy J. Vellela. She was a past president of the Catholic Central High School and LaSalle Institute Mothers' Associations. She was a communicant of Saint Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Latham, N.Y. She was the devoted mother of John J. III and his wife Karen of Guilderland, Daniel J. and his wife Carol of Latham, Connie Cahill and her husband Richard E. Sise of Niskayuna and Elizabeth A. and her husband Martin V. Lempres of Wellesley, Mass. She was the cherished grandmother of Jaclyn and John Cahill, Daniel and Kristen Cahill, Ellen, Richard (by whom she was predeceased), Mary and Michael Sise and Grace, Daniel and Katherine Lempres. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Cahill of Troy and her nephew, Major John Dee Minehan who is currently serving overseas as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, James A., Daniel J. and Justin J. McCarthy and her sister G. Cornelia Minehan. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed attending their athletic contests and school activities. She will be missed dearly by her family and many friends. FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. James F. Corbett, 68, died June 26, 2004. Born in Green Island, N.Y. on November 13, 1935, he studied at Hudson Valley Community College and the New York State Troopers Academy. He worked for the New York State Legislative Office and was a New York State Trooper. He was a member of the Elks, Police Benevolent Association, and the Retired State Troopers Association. He enjoyed golf, softball, reading and crossword puzzles. Jack Cuddihy, 79, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. He resided on Abbott Street in Hoosick Falls and was the husband of the late Catherine Marie (Maleady) Cuddihy who died on January 23, 2002. He was born on March 11, 1925 in Hoosick Falls, son of Richard and Helen (Early) Cuddihy. John graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Hoosick Falls and was a veteran of the United States Army. He served during World War II in Central Europe and attained the rank of staff sergeant. While in the Army, he received the following medals: Bronze Star, Purple Heart and the Good Conduct Medal. In his earlier years, he worked as a carpenter and was a former member of the carpenter's union. John was very active in the community as the superintendent of public works for many years and was a past village trustee. He also was a founding member of the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad. Other memberships include the Callmens Association of the Fire Department, V.F.W. Post #8417, St. Stanislaw Society, Knights of Columbus, A.A.R.P., a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #178 and a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Cuddihy of Grafton, N.Y. and Diane Harrington of Hoosick Falls; a sister, Rita Hunt of West Hoosick; a brother, Richard Cuddihy of East Hoosick; two grandchildren, T.J. Harrington and Lorianne Harrington, both of Hoosick Falls; also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two sisters, Helen Benkoski and Marie Roberts. Born on April 11, 1933 in Stillwater, N.Y., he was the son of Harold and Evelyn (Hosley) Lane. Edward was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a New York State Trooper for 23 years, having retired in 1980. Edward was a member of the American Legion Post 553 of South Glens Falls and a member of the NYS Police Benevolent Association. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, David Lane, and his sister, Marie Gronczniak. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Mary and Frank Urban. Mrs. Minahan worked for Montgomery Ward in Menands for many years. More recently, she was co-owner of a business in Buffalo with her husband until they sold it in 1994. After living in Buffalo for ten years, they moved to Conn. in 1998 where she worked for the Three Cheers Hallmark Store until she became ill this year. She had been a long time communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Troy. Mrs. Minahan enjoyed traveling, long weekends and day trips to New England, as well as vacations with her family to Nantucket, Germany and Austria. One of her greatest joys was her annual weekend trip to Atlantic City with her sisters, Jane Rooney and the late Joan DeNault, and brother-in-law, Bob DeNault. Marie is the beloved wife of 46 years to Michael E. Minahan. She is the loving mother of Michael F. Minahan and his wife, Betty Ann, Timothy P. Minahan and his wife, Greta and her beloved daughter, Kathleen Minahan. Mrs. Minahan is the sister of Theodore Sierocki, Jane Rooney and her husband, Martin and the late Joan DeNault. Polsinelli, 72, of Westwood Lane, surrounded by his family on Monday, June 28, 2004 at Ellis Hospital. Peter was born in Arpino, province of Frosinone, Italy and emigrated to the U.S. at age 7. He was the son of Vincenzo and Antonia Polsinelli. Following college, he began to work with his father in the construction field. An area resident most his life, Peter was a well known businessman, land developer and political chairman of the Republican Party. He was proud of his aiding the development of Glenville and bringing sewers into the town. In 1955, he started Peter Polsinelli Construction Co. with building sites in Scotia, Niskayuna, Colonie, Rotterdam and Schoharie. A focus was made on Glenville and he later was joined by his son, Peter Polsinelli Jr. Memberships included Scotia Rotary, Mohawk Club, Capital District Planning Council and communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Schenectady. Active in politics, Peter was a member of the transition team for Governor George Pataki. Survivors include his children, son, Peter Jr. and his wife Holly of Schenectady; daughters, Debbie Johnson (Jim) Elba, N.Y., Sharon Dalfonso of Charlotte, N.C., Denise Wagner (Rich) of Bloomingdale, N.Y. and Tammy Polsinelli (Erich) of Germantown, Md.; his eight grandchildren, Alexandra, Nathan, Stephanie, Christopher, Michael, Josh, Traci and Kellee; brother of Biagio Polsinelli and Angelina Serafini of Niskayuna and Lucy Polsinelli of Schenectady. Jane had been employed in telephone service for 40 years; having been employed by NY Telephone Co. as a directory service manager in the Albany area and later by Bell Atlantic as a business office manager in the Fairfax, Va. area. Most recently, she was a sales representative at Sears Department Store in Wilton. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Saratoga Lake Association. Also, Jane was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Ballston Spa. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is the mother of Maureen A. Riley and Michael A. Jean had worked for both the State Bank of Albany and Albany Savings Bank. For many years, she was the bookkeeper for her in-law's bowling alley, Vigars' Redwood Lanes in Colonie. She later worked for Lake Electronic Service as the credit manager and bookkeeper. Mrs. Vigars was an avid and well known local bowler and competed in the Patrician League, Capital State Bowling League, Redwood Ladies League, Women's City League and the Tri-City Traveling League. She was also an avid New York Yankee's fan. She was the former wife of the late Richard Skip Vigars Sr.; mother of Carol H. Douglass (Dale) of Niskayuna, Teri A. Vigars of Jordan, N.Y. and Richard Skip Vigars Jr. of Guilderland; sister of the late Donald J. Stephens and Kathleen S. Frog Wilt Sr., 52, of Second Street, died on Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Westchester Medical Center Burn Unit in Valhalla, N.Y. following injuries sustained in an explosion in Malta, N.Y. on May 17, 2004. He was born on October 31, 1951 in Cambridge, N.Y. and was the son of the late Harold Roy and Florence Lewis Wilt. Mr. Wilt had lived in Round Lake since 1962 and was previously of Colonie, N.Y. He was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School, Class of 1969. Mr. Wilt had worked for the Wright Malta Corporation in Malta for 28 years as a mechanical technician. An avid outdoorsman, Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending quality time with his family at their summer camp in Schroon Lake. He spent many memorable moments playing darts and horseshoes with his friends. Dave was a devoted volunteer for the Round Lake Little League where he spent much time managing, coaching and helping to reconstruct the ball field. He was well known for his favorite motto there, Pay attention! He was the beloved husband of Donna M. DeMartino Wilt, with whom he celebrated 32 years of marriage on May 13; devoted father of David R. Wilt Jr. and Neil O. Wilt, both of Round Lake; loving second father of Melissa M. Sparks (fiancee of David Jr.) of Round Lake; brother of Donald (Ida) Wilt of Lexington, Mass., Kenneth Wilt of Fla., Roberta Hope of N.C., Marjorie (Joe) Shagalski of Ballston Spa, N.Y. and Nancy Wilt of N.C.; brother-in-law of Joseph (Shirley) DeMartino, Mary (Walter) Zielnicki, John (Dale) DeMartino and Robert (Carol) DeMartino. He is also survived by his faithful companion, Gemini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, Route 9 and Ushers Road. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park, N.Y. Interment will be held at St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville, N.Y. Winne, age 99, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, Gloversville, where she had resided the past nine years. She was born March 7, 1905 in Kinderhook, N.Y., the daughter of Lester and Rose Teater Winne. She attended Kinderhook High School and graduated from Valatie High School in 1922 and also from NY State Teachers College in Albany in 1926. Ms. Winne taught at Newport High School for several years. She later taught at Broadalbin Central School for 29 years and retired from there in 1960. She then taught for ten years at St. Agnes Girls School in Albany. A member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Albany, she was also a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Assoc.; the Fulton County Retired Teachers Assoc.; and the Albany Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary, where she volunteered for 20 years at its Children's Hospital. Ms. Winne is survived by her many friends and former students. Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Friday at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St., Broadalbin 883-3923, where a funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Paul Moyer officiating. Interment will take place at Kinderhook Cemetery, Kinderhook.
