Born July 30, 1917, in Pittsfield, Mass., she was the loving daughter of the late Herbert and Edith R. Dymond Bristol. Rose worked for many years as a secretary for Breslaw's Furniture of Albany. She was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include her devoted and loving daughter, Rosemary C. Moore of Rensselaer; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Farthing; a sister-in-law, Marge Bristol of Nassau; nine grandchildren of which two were very devoted to love and care for Rose, Manny Ortiz of Feura Bush and Sarah Moore of Rensselaer along with 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her children, Mary Wiley, Donald Farthing Sr.; two brothers, Herbert Butch and George Bristol. Rose's family would like to give special thanks to Community Hospice of Albany and their volunteers especially Leslie Dykeman, who spent countless hours as not only a volunteer but as a close friend of Rose's, and the devoted staff of Villa Mary Immaculate. Funeral services will be on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown where Rev. Peter Kelly will officiate. Born and raised in Schenectady, Minnie Mae lived in Colonie for most of her life. She owned, with her late husband Gordon, the former Gordon's Cleaners in Colonie from 1948 to 1965. She was a very active member of the Colonie Alliance Church and a former volunteer at the Veteran's Adult Care Center at the VA Hospital in Albany. Minnie Mae was predeceased by her husband, John (Gordon) Gepfert. She is survived by her sons, Robert Gepfert and his wife Marjorie of Essex Junction, Vt. and Lawrence Gepfert and his wife Ann of Fla. and Hadley, N.Y.; grandchildren, Pamela Blake, Lawrence Gepfert Jr. and Bruce Gepfert; and great-grandchildren, Kyle Blake, Jessie Blake, Lawrence Bradley Gepfert, Isabelle Gepfert and Jackson Gepfert. He was born in Altavista, Va. and has been a resident of Rensselaer for approximately 40 years. Ed was employed as a truck driver and rigger-hauler for Mar-Van Rigging and Hauling in Watervliet. He was a U.S. Army veteran of both World War II and the Korean War being a POW and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the North Greenbush American Legion Post #1489 and was past Rensselaer County Commandeer and currently Sergeant At Arms. Ed was also a member of the Guilderland Lodge of Elks BPOE #2480, Military Order of the Purple Heart #446, Sullivan-Jones VFW Post in Poestenkill, Battle of the Bulge and 40 & 8. Mullin, 87, formerly of Troy, died Thursday, September 16, 2004 at St. Clare's Hospital, Schenectady. Born in Albany, July 4, 1917, he was the son of the late Claude and Isabelle (Bailey) Mullin. He was a graduate of Cathedral Academy in Albany. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the North Atlantic as a petty officer. Mr. Mullin was a master carpenter and worked for Iroquois Millwork in Albany for many years, retiring in 1980. He was a long time communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in South Troy until moving to Malta in 2001 and joining Our Lady of Grace community in Ballston Lake. He was a member of the South Troy Polish Club and the Petty Officer's Club. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Dooley. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frances (Strackrow) Mullin; two children, Dr. James (Francine) Mullin Jr. of Smithtown, Lynne (Ronald) Hedger of Ballston Spa; five grandchildren, Steven Mullin of Boston, Mass., Gary (Sarah) Mullin of Orting, Wash., Pamela (Malcolm) Hind of Kissimmee, Fla., Michelle (M. Born in Troy, the daughter of the late Michael and Jane Manning Murphy, she was in the 68th year of her life as a sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Sister was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Troy and received a bachelor's degree in music from the College of Saint Rose, Albany and a master's degree in voice and music from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She also studied at Columbia University and the Julliard School of Music. Sister Jane was a professor of music at the College of St. Rose for many years and received the title of professor emeritus in 1987. After retirement, she became supervisor of the music library at the college. Sister is survived by a brother, Edward F. Murphy of East Harwich, Mass. and several nieces and nephews. He was born on May 9, 1943 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Richard and Eugenia Baker Platt. He graduated from Kent State University in 1965. He was the executive director of EZ Pass Interagency Group and prior to that he was executive director of the New York State Thruway from 1966 until 2003. Mr. Platt actively served on various National Boards and commission including chairman of the EZ Pass Interagency Group and was also on the board of directors of ITS America and chairman of the I 95 Corridor Coalition. John was a Eucharistic minister and communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park, NY. He was the beloved husband of Linda to whom he was married for 39 years. John leaves behind three sons, Rick (Sandra) Platt, Dave (Shani) Platt, Mike (Angie) Platt. He was the grandfather of Natasha and triplets, Brooks, Brynley and John; brother of Marie Harrigan of Washingtonville, Ohio. Helen was born March 2, 1921, the daughter of Charles and Margaret Vincent. She was raised in Mooers, N.Y. and graduated from Mooers Central HS. She attended Plattsburgh State University, and Mildred Elley and graduated from the NYS Regents College. Helen was employed by the New York Telephone Company for many years and was a supervisor for the New York State Police for fifteen years until her retirement. Helen was an extremely intelligent, strong, beautiful and gentle woman who devoted herself to raising and caring for her five daughters and her grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her. Helen was the devoted and cherished mother of Mary Achcet of Amsterdam, Kathleen (Neil) Sheehy of Glenville, Jeanne (Bruce) Stewart of Altamont and Karen Sue (Philip) Caprood of Colonie. She is also survived by her sisters, A1ice, Edith and Evelyn; her brother Rosewell; her grandchildren Charles and Christine Achcet, Colleen LeGere, Christy Sheehy, Joseph Stewart, Jennifer Maynard and Thomas Caprood; and by three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mary had worked for the former National Savings Bank in Albany. After raising her children, she worked as a produce clerk with the A&P Markets in Albany before her retirement. She had been a member of the St. Francis DeSales Senior Group. Mary was predeceased in 1977 by her husband Garry J. Van De Wall. She is the beloved mother of Robert, Barry and Thomas Van De Wall, all of Colonie. Mary is the sister of the late Katherine Quickenton, Agnes Fallon and Caroline Unser. Zwicklbauer, Erna GUILDERLAND Erna Zwicklbauer, affectionately known as Oma by family, friends, staff and patrons of the Bavarian Chalet, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 15, 2004. Erna was born January 8, 1911 in Steinegg, Germany. She immigrated to Albany, N.Y. by herself at age 15. She married Franz X. Zwicklbauer in 1938 and together they operated the Little Bavaria Restaurant in Albany from 1949 to 1963 and the Bavarian Chalet Restaurant in Guilderland from 1951 to 1984. He passed away in 1983. She was the beloved mother of Franz K. Zwicklbauer (Frances) of Guilderland and Rudolf E. Zwicklbauer of Waukesah, Wis.; grandmother of Marianne Zwicklbauer (Dr. Clifford Belden) of Hoosick Falls, Dr. Michael Zwicklbauer (Marianne) of Newport News, Va., Franz J. Zwicklbauer of Guilderland, Liesl Gorman (Edward) of Hoosick Falls, Mara Warren (Daniel) of Algonquin, Ill. and Kurt Zwicklbauer (Jennifer) of Elburn, Ill.; great-grandmother of Jessica, Michael, Kristin, Erik, Elise and Franz J. (Jr) Zwicklbauer, Patrick, Victoria and Abigail Gorman; sister of Rudolf Gnam of Germany and the late Emma Volz and Klara Faas. She is survived by a niece, Lori Zwicklbauer Hill, and a nephew, Werner Zwicklbauer, and many other nieces and nephews in Germany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Church of St. Madeleine Sophie, 3500 Carman Rd., Guilderland.
