He was born on October 15, 1939 in Budapest, Hungary to the late Herman and M. Tanzy Anyos. Mr. Anyos immigrated to the United States in 1956 and was proud to become an American citizen. Gabe was the loving companion of 25 years to Mary Lou Evans. He is survived by his children, Stephen Anyos of Nassau, Joanne Anyos of Albany, Jacquline Anyos of Voorheesville and Jill Adkins of Albany. He is the brother of John Tanzy of Rochester. Mr. Anyos is step-dad to Eileen O'Dea and her husband Gregg, Michelle Picolla and her husband Joseph and Jean Coffey and her husband Vincent and their children. Gabe is the grandfather of Rickeya Miller, Damon Anyos, Clint Anyos and Chrystal Anyos. Also surviving is one great-granddaughter. Gabe's family would like to thank Dr. Mitnick and the staff of Community Care-Albany Family Practice, lovingly known to Gabe as the A-Team and all of the doctors and staff at St. Peter's Hospital ICU, oncology and especially the Hospice Inn for helping Gabe spend his final days with Mary Lou in comfort and with dignity and respect. Mrs. Barber was born in Catskill and resided most of her life in the Schenectady area. She was a World War II Navy Wave before working at the Army Depot and the Watervliet Arsenal, where she retired with over 30 years service, as procurement clerk. Sophie had a lifelong love of people of all ages, as was evident with her volunteerism in the Schenectady community. She had many interests and was involved in many organizations, especially those with advocacy for senior citizens. Sophie was past president of the Highbridge Civic Association, past officer for the National Association of Federal Employees, past president of AARP 490, board member of the Annie Schaffer Senior Citizens Center, Human Service Planning Council, New York State Senior Action Council, active with the Rotterdam Seniors where she was the trip director, past president of Catholic Daughters Court St. Catherine, No. 128 and the Christ Child Society, she was a charter member of the Women's Memorial Foundation and among being honored many times through the years, she also received the Schenectady County Office of the Aging Senior Citizen of the Year. Sophie was a long time communicant of St. Madeline Sophie Church where she was also a volunteer and a member of the choir. Sophie also enjoyed golf, bowling, playing cards, crocheting and being with people. She married Anthony J. Barber in 1948, he died in 1980. She was also predeceased by her sister, Frances Ganson. She is survived by relatives, friends and neighbors. Lillian was born in Schenectady on September 19, 1920, a daughter of the late Giovanni and Olympia Nardacci D'Aversa. She was raised and educated in Schenectady. For 25 years, Lillian was employed by General Electric in Building 28. She was also a member of the company's Quarter Century Club. Lillian was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony's Church. Wife of the late Anthony J. De Paula Sr. whom she married September 20, 1945. Survivors include her son, Anthony J. De Paula Jr. and wife Susan of Saratoga Springs; loving grandmother of Kara J. De Paula of Saratoga Springs; her sisters, Mary Marinucci and husband Peter, Rose D'Aversa, Jennie Gardino and husband Angelo; brother, John D'Aversa and wife Joan; sister-in-law, Mary D'Aversa all of Schenectady, the late Julie Taber, Mario and Alexander D'Aversa. Edwards, Diane GLENVILLE Diane Faux Edwards, 46, of Glenville, died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, September 21, 2004 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Piscataway, N.J., she was a 1980 honors graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor of arts degree in English. She was raised in Blue Bell, Pa. and was a copy editor for the Judson Press in Valley Forge, Pa. prior to her 1981 marriage to her husband, John Edwards. Along with her husband, she was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Rexford and active with women's bible studies there. Diane was a tireless advocate for her children and an inspiration to her many friends who admired her quiet servants heart. Diane was an amateur genealogist, enjoying researching her Pa. roots, as well as an avid gardener, naturalist and birdwatcher. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Gregory and Kyle of Glenville; her parents, Wayne and Nancy Faux of Drums, Pa.; her brother, Jerry Faux of Cape Coral, Fla.; her brother, Mark Faux of Sellersville, Pa.; her sister, Lauren Miller of Drums; numerous nieces and nephews. Lubiniecki, Kenneth L. COLONIE Kenneth (L-Ken) Lubiniecki, 62, of Colonie, died Thursday, September 23, 2004 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Amsterdam, N.Y. and has been a resident of Colonie for most of his life. Ken had owned and operated L-Kens restaurant for 40 years. In 1963, Ken and his Dad built L-Kens, a longtime Colonie landmark. He was the owner of the former Shamrock Tavern in Albany. Ken was a former owner of thoroughbred horses and a member of the Polish American Club. He enjoyed wintering in the Florida Keys. He is the son of Elaine Lubiniecki of Loudonville and the late Ludwig Lubiniecki. Ken is the beloved husband of Phyllis M. Lubiniecki. He is the devoted father of Kimberly L. Lubiniecki. He is the stepfather of Roger W. Groff Jr. and brother of John Lubiniecki. He is also survived by his uncle, Ted Lubiniecki; his cousin, Sharon Casterlin; and his adopted sons, Shawn P. Roff, Michael Sharer and numerous other close friends. Marcoux, 80, formerly of Averill Park and recently a resident of Yucca Valley, passed away September 4, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Born at home on Green Island on January 11, 1924, he was the son of the late Arthur J. Marcoux and Anna Collins Marcoux. He was married for 52 years to Ella Shields Marcoux who passed away in 1999. He was raised in Troy, graduated from Catholic Central High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked for McManus, Longe and Brockwehl, General Contractors, Latham. He remained there until his retirement in 1986. He was a life member of the Averill Park-Sand Lake Fire Co. and served as fire police captain for many years. He also served as a fire commissioner for the Town of Sand Lake. He was a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park for 33 years and was a Eucharistic minister. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Darlene Marcoux of Merritt Island, Fla. and his daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Thomas Conway of Morongo Valley, Calif. along with five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, A. Donald Marcoux, and his two sisters, Dorothy Pietrak and Ruth McManus. The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Henry's Church in Averill Park. Mastrianni, 52, died Friday, September 24, 2004 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer surrounded by her family and devoted friends, Bernice and Stephanie Cietek. Jean graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1970 and received her B.A. from Empire State College. She was employed by the Troy City School District for over 30 years. During that time, Jean made many special friends and touched the lives of countless students. Her father, Stephen J. Mastrianni died in June of 1990 and her mother, Bernadette Fournier Mastrianni died in March of 2000. She was the sister of Marie Mastrianni of Colonie and Stephen Mastrianni of Albany; also survived by several aunts, uncles; cousins; and her two treasured canine companions, Luke and Chino. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bunker Hill. He had been a resident of Latham from 1955 until moving to Adirondack in 1991. Mr. Stevens was a machinist at Zak Inc. in Green Island for 32 years, retiring in 1984. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Auburn, Maine and was a member of Cyprus Temple Shrine, Albany. SCHAGHTICOKE Dorothy J. Van Buren, 84, of Pleasant Avenue, Schaghticoke, died suddenly Monday, September 20, 2004 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy following a lengthy illness. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late Willard and Charlotte Westcott Peak. She was the wife of Francis B. Van Buren whom she married January 20, 1945 in East Williston, L.I. Mrs. Van Buren was a graduate of Long Island Schools and Albany State College. Her working career as a substitute teacher for the Hoosic Valley Central School District spanned more than 30 years. She was a longtime dedicated member of the Presbyterian United Church in Schaghticoke and a former member of the board of sessions of the church. She had also served in the Albany Presbytery on numerous nominating committees. Survivors in addition to her husband, Frank include three sons, Richard (Beverly) Van Buren of Chestertown, N.Y., Steven (Diane) Van Buren of Guilderland, N.Y. and Dale (Pamela Christian) Van Buren of Guilderland, N.Y.; one sister, Phyllis Sullivan of Burke, Va.; four grandchildren, Lisa Biviano, Samantha, Joshua and Dana Van Buren; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Tristan and Griffen Biviano; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian United Church, Main Street, Schaghticoke with the Reverend Mary Woodman, pastor, officiating. There will be no public calling hours prior to the church service. Private burial will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Vaughan, 73, went home to God on September 23, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth O'Neill Vaughan. He is survived by his brother, Hugh of Troy; a niece, Sheila Wellworth (Tom) of Calif.; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins of the area. Bill was born totally deaf and with various physical handicaps. He was a member of the Catholic Deaf Association of the Albany Diocese and a former member of International Catholic Deaf Association. He was a graduate of St. Augustine's School in Lansingburgh and from the New York State School for the Deaf at White Plains, where he studied drafting. After graduation, he was employed for 37 years as a draftsman for the New York State Office of General Services. Bill was an accomplished artist and member of the Colonie Art League for over 30 years. He was also a longtime member of the Bethlehem Lions Club and was president of the organization three years ago, conducting meetings through the aid of interpreters. He was a volunteer for over 20 years at the William K. Sanford Library in Colonie and was also an avid bowler. He was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh and an usher at the church for many years. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 870 Second Avenue (between 124th and 125th Streets) in Lansingburgh and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Augustine's Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Daniel Webster, 47, of 7th Avenue in Lansingburgh, died Thursday, September 23, 2004 at his residence after a long illness. He was born on June 30, 1957 in Troy and was the son of Hon. Walter L. and Anne Marie O'Donnell Webster of Eagle Mills. He was a graduate of Tamarac High School and Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, where he earned his associate's degree in political science. Dan was the beloved husband of Deborah A. Forcucci Webster, whom he married on Sept. 20, 1980. Dan and Debbie just celebrated their 24th. wedding anniversary. He was the technical assistant for the Disability Resource Center at Hudson Valley Community College. He has worked there for more than 15 years. Earlier he had worked for the New York Assembly in Albany. He was an active member and communicant of the St. Augustine Parish family. Dan served on the St. Augustine's School Board, had been a member of the Bazaar Committee and had been a loyal member of the Bingo Committee. Dan was a member of the Board of Directors of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in Troy. He had been an avid golfer, but most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his wife and their three daughters. Dan was a proud father who would never missed one of his girls activities. In addition to his wife and parents, Dan is the devoted father of Meagan Aileen Webster, Jessica Elizabeth Webster and Rebecca Ann Webster all of Troy; the brother of Walter L. Webster, Jr. of Eagle Mills, Robert J. (Phyllis) Webster of Clifton Park and Kathleen A. Webster of Rotterdam; son-in-law of Josephine C. Forcucci of Watervliet and the late Louis P. Forcucci; brother- in-law of Benjamin S. (Wendi) Forcucci of Latham and uncle of Emma Riley Forcucci. Funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:15 from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., cor. of 115th Street & 4th Avenue, Lansingburgh, thence to St. Augustine's Church where at 11:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. (Marshall) White, 58, of Martin Lane, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2004 surrounded by her loving family at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, after a brief illness. Born and educated in Albany, she was the beloved daughter of Elizabeth Marshall of Schodack and the late Henry R. Marshall. She is survived by her loving children, Jessica Mary, Donald Marshall and Michael Henry White, all of Troy, and her husband, George White of Troy. As a young person, she loved to sing and dance. She graduated from Cardinal McClusky High School, Hudson Valley Community College and Empire State College. She devoted her professional career to the elderly as an activities director of Highgate Manor and Heritage House Nursing Homes in Troy. She was the sister of Richard H. Marshall of East Greenbush, June Howard of Latham, Virginia (Richard) Willigan of Latham, Mary Jean Laraway of Delmar, William Marshall of Glenville and Patrice (David) Spingarn of Saratoga Springs and the late Joseph (Kathy) Marshall of Clifton Park. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. There will be a memorial Mass held at St. Augustine's Church in Troy on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 1 p.m. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Edward Bott and Edith Grey Bott and wife of Frank E. Wittman Sr. She was raised and resided most of her life in Poestenkill and was educated at Troy High School. Mrs. Wittman was a homemaker and mother. Her greatest joy of her life was raising her children. She was an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Poestenkill for 68 years and a member of its choir and was active in the Poestenkill Republican Club and worked many hours behind the scenes while her husband was in office. Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Judith Ann (Dr. George) Prior of Pottstown, Pa. and Linda J. (Clarence) Williams of Allentown, Pa.; a son, Frank E. (Carol) Wittman Jr. of Poestenkill; five grandchildren, Susan (Daniel) Reed, David (Melissa) Prior, Mark (Hetti) Prior, Lisa (Keith) Fisher and Michael (Ann) Williams and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Edison K. Bott and a sister, Marjorie A. Abbott.
