ALBANY Robert M. Auld, 74, former Coxsackie Town Justice died Sunday, September 26, 2004 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Long Island City, N.Y. on December 22, 1929, he was the son of the late Robert M. Auld and Mary Corcoran Auld and husband of Juana Caminos Auld of Albany and Coxsackie, N.Y. Raised and educated in Flushing, N.Y., he was a 1948 graduate of Bishop Loughlin High School. In 1948, he attended St. Francis College in Brooklyn and graduated in 1951 from the University of Notre Dame, Ind. In 1951, he entered Officer's Candidate School in Rhode Island and was commissioned ensign in 1952. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1955. Mr. Auld attended St. John's Law School from 1955 to 1957 and worked for John T. Clancy Law Office, Long Island City in 1957 and Kirlin, Campbell and Keating from 1957 to 1963. Mr. Auld was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1958 and in 1960 to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals Eastern Division, 1959 Southern Division and 1972 Northern Division. In October of 1960 he was admitted to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals with Judge Thurgood Marshall in New York City. He worked in his private practice from 1963 to 1969 and served in the Nassau County District Attorney's Office from 1969 to 1972 and became assistant attorney general, New York 1972 to 1983. He returned to private practice from 1983 to 1985. He later worked for Aetna Casualty and Life from 1985 to 1994 and was Coxsackie Town Justice from 1985 to 1993. Survivors in addition to his wife Juana include his children, Karla A. Pingeton (James) of Marblehead, Mass., Robert M. Auld Jr. (Suzi) of Hoboken, N.J., Alexandra A. Pinheiro (Joaquim) of Menands, N.Y. and John G. Iglesias (Barbara) of Elmont, N.Y.; a sister, Annette Kaicher of White Plains, N.Y. Also survived by ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Battibulli Sr., 74, died Sunday, September 26, 2004 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Joseph and Zenilda Bevilacqua Battibulli. Mr. Battibulli was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a mail handler with the U.S. Postal Service in Albany and retired after over 20 years of service. Mr. Battibulli was a charter member of the Elks Lodge. He was also a member of the Bucci McTague VFW Post and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Battibulli was a longtime communicant of St. Teresa of Avila Church. Husband of Angela Calsolaro Battibulli; father of Sharon Legare of Latham, Joanne Bertsche and her husband Thomas of Chicago and Thomas A. Biette, Charles L. HALFMOON Charles L. Biette of Halfmoon, 82, died suddenly Saturday afternoon, September 25, 2004 at Albany Medical Center. Born October 24, 1921 in Little Falls, N.Y., he was the son of the late Charles and Matilda Noonan Biette. He lived in Halfmoon for the past 80 years. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II in the European Theatre. Charles worked for the West Virginia Pulp and Paper Co. as a steam turbine operator for 28 years before working for the Saratoga County Treatment Plant for eight years retiring in 1985. Charles was a member of the VFW in Mechanicville, Corpus Christi Church, Halfmoon Senior Citizens and one of the founding members of the Hill Crest Fire Department. He enjoyed family gatherings and was an avid New York Yankee's fan. Charles never missed his great-nephew's baseball or football games. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Estella Rever Biette of Halfmoon; three sisters, Catherine Chase of Mechanicville, Joan Reckner of Clifton Park and Barbara Sears of Mechanicville; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Campione was born in Albany, son of the late Frank and Frances Pazienza Campione. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theatre. He was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. After the service, Mr. Campione worked as a longshoreman at the Port of Albany for 50 years, retiring in 1984. Conway, Esq., 89, died Saturday, September 25, 2004. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Dr. William F. and Lucy McCormack Conway. He was a 1932 graduate of the former Vincentian Institute and 1936 graduate of Georgetown University. Mr. Conway received his law degree in 1939 from Albany Law School and was admitted to the Bar that year. He practiced law his entire career in Albany and became one of the most respected trial lawyers in the State of New York. Mr. Conway spent over 40 years with the firm of DeGraff, Foy, Conway & Holt-Harris. He was a former assistant to the New York State Board of Law Examiners and past president of the board of Child's Hospital. He was a member of the Fort Orange Club, Wolferts Roost Country Club and Schuyler Meadows Country Club. Mr. Conway was an avid golfer, boater and skier. As a young man, he became the youngest Eagle Scout in the country and it was then he developed his lifelong love of bird watching. He was the beloved husband of Arlene Conway; dear father of Dr. William F. Conway Jr. of Glenmont, Gerard L. Conway of Guilderland, John E. Conway of Chicago, Elaine R. Conway of Delmar, Edward P. Delaney of Stoney Point Road, died Saturday, September 25, 2004 at Saratoga Hospital. He was 65. Born on February 9, 1939 in East Meadow, L.I., N.Y., he was a son of the late James A. and Mary A. (King) Delaney. He served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman and for many years worked as a training specialist with the New York State Power Pool of the Long Island Lighting Company. He was a member of the Church of St. Peter and served as an usher during Sunday morning Masses. He was a third degree member and past grand knight of Saratoga Council 246 Knights of Columbus and also a member of Saratoga Assembly 0745 Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. His interests included vacations in his motor home and he enjoyed thoroughbred horses. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, James and Thomas Delaney and two sisters, Virginia Marie and Marie Rini. Robert was the son of the late Anthony and Genevieve (DiPierro) Famolaro. He was born and raised in Utica, N.Y. and moved to Rotterdam in 1972. Robert was a self employed carpet installer with his brother Michael for 37 years. He was a member of St. Gabriel's Church in Rotterdam. Robert was a manager for a few years for the Bellevue Little League in Schenectady. He loved being surrounded by family and friends. His most treasured moments were the weekly Sunday Pasta dinner gatherings with his family. Robert is predeceased by one granddaughter, Olivia Leona Durand. As a young girl, she moved to Watervliet where she received her education. She had been a resident of Latham since 1929. Mrs. Feiden was a cook at the former Dagan's Snack Bar on Route 155, Colonie during the 1950s and 1960s. She was a member of the Loudonville Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her son, James R. (Barbara) Feiden, Latham; her daughter-in-law, Marjorie Feiden of Troy; seven grandchildren, James R. Feiden Jr., Heather, Matthew, Frank, Thomas, Richard and Judith Feiden; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Harry C. She was the daughter of James and Olga Gallagher of Norwich, N.Y. Jacqueline was the founder of Traditions Antiques on Albany's Lark Street during that area's 1980s renaissance, before moving the store to the Westgate Plaza. She was also a founding partner in Abacus Antiques in Saratoga's historic downtown during that city's horse racing season. Jacqueline was a master gardener and had volunteered at numerous horticulture sites in the Capitol District including the 1978 Ten Broeck Mansion. She spent her free time restoring her 1850 mill worker's home in the Normanskill section of Delmar where she was able to tend her magnificent garden within view of the Normanskill Creek waterfall. She is survived by her parents James and Olga Gallagher of Norwich; brother, James Gallagher of Norwich; sister, Rita Flyzik of Orange, Va.; sons, Philip Giltner of Kinderhook, N.Y., Mathew Giltner of Whitehouse Station, N.J.; daughter, Amy Ouderkirk of Scotia, N.Y.; and her favorite, a granddaughter, Hannah Giltner of Kinderhook. Martin Sr., 82, died Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Martin was born in Glendola, N.J. and lived most of his life in New Jersey. He moved to Knox, N.Y. in 2002. He served in the U.S. Army, working as an underwater diver in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre during World War II. He worked as a foreman for the Dockbuilders, Carpenters and Joiners Union #1456 in New York City. He was a member of the VFW Post #1101 in West Virginia and he attended the Gallupville Gospel Church in Gallupville. He is survived by her wife of 62 years, Katherine Elizabeth Martin; one daughter, Sandra E. Grimes of Argyle, N.Y.; one son, Arthur C. Mastrianni, 52, died Friday, September 24, 2004 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer surrounded by her family and devoted friends, Bernice and Stephanie Cietek. Jean graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1970 and received her B.A. from Empire State College. She was employed by the Troy City School District for over 30 years. During that time, Jean made many special friends and touched the lives of countless students. Her father, Stephen J. Mastrianni died in June of 1990 and her mother, Bernadette Fournier Mastrianni died in March of 2000. She was the sister of Marie Mastrianni of Colonie and Stephen Mastrianni of Albany; also survived by several aunts, uncles; cousins; and her two treasured canine companions, Luke and Chino. Miller Jr., 76, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2004 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer and he is now with the Lord. Charles was born on March 22, 1928 in Albany to the late Charles H. and Ruth Robertson Miller. He was raised in Rensselaer and graduated from Rensselaer High School. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Charles was a painter and paper hanger at SUNY at Albany from 1964 to 1990. Prior to that, he worked for a local union from 1950 to 1964. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Delmar, Watervliet Elks #1500 and enjoyed golfing. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Lois M. (Harbeck) Miller; his children, Charles H. Miller III, Steven Miller, Diane Miller, Linda (Joseph) Lostritto and David Miller; sisters, Jane Bransford and Mary Swinegar and the late Phila Slyke. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Nan Moore, 87, a former resident of St. Johnsville, N.Y. and a resident at the Getman Memorial Home in Gloversville, N.Y. passed away after a short illness on Thursday, September 23, 2004. Miss Moore was born on October 31, 1916 in Amsterdam, N.Y., the youngest daughter of William and Sarah Jane (McKnight) Moore. She graduated from the Wilbur H. Lynch High School in 1933 and received her B.A. degree from Hartwick College in 1937. Following graduation from college she was employed for seven years in the office of the Mohawk Carpet Mills. In 1944, she moved to St. Johnsville where she taught junior and then senior high English until retiring in 1973. During her teaching tenure, Miss Moore served as advisor to numerous graduating senior classes. She continued to reside in St. Johnsville until her move to the Getman Home in 1999. During her 55-year residence in St. Johnsville she was an active member of the St. Johnsville Business Girls, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international society that promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and a charter member of the Upper Montgomery County Retired Teachers' Association. Nan was a member of Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, the Grace Church Women's Fellowship of which she was treasurer for many years and for nearly 30 years performed the duties of clerk of Grace Church. Survivors include two nephews and a niece, George M. Haney and his wife Claudia of Derwood, Md., William W. Haney and his wife Jane of East Greenbush, N.Y. and Ellen Jane Whitehead and her husband Anthony of Doraville, Ga.; six grandnephews and nieces, Stephen Haney of Hunt Valley, Md., Stephanie Roberts of Harrisburg, N.C., Sharon Hayward of Ft. Hood, Texas, William M. Haney of Albany, N.Y., Kristine Hampson of Marietta, Ga. and Jeffrey Vosburgh of Atlanta, Ga.; nine great-great-nephews and nieces, Jeremy, Nathan, Matthew, Kailee and Emilee Hayward, Jacob and Andrew Roberts, Casey Hampson and Forrester Vosburgh. Two sisters, Jessie and Alma, and a brother, George predeceased her. Travison, 92, entered into eternal life Monday, September 20, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late John and Mary Ritz Travison. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and attended Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Mr. Travison was a florist and owner of the former John T. Travison and Sons Florist Shop at 335 South Pearl Street in Albany. A faithful servant of God, he was a devout Catholic and a long time communicant of St. John's-St. Ann's Church in the South End. An avid bowler, Mr. Travison was Albany City's International League Champion and was inducted in the Albany Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1987. In the 1940s, he took piloting lessons and was a devoted golfer into his 90s. He had a passion for photography and, over many decades, he artistically captured historic images of old Albany and chronicled its emergence into the city Albany is today. Photos from his collection have been published and recognized in photo competitions. An unofficial photographer for the Albany Fire Department, he documented many fire calls and his work was later used for fire training purposes. Mr. Travison spent many happy summers vacationing and boating on Lake George with family and friends. Wilson, 76, died on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at the Childs Nursing Home. He as born in Albany, May 2, 1928 to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Roehr) Wilson. Everett retired from the Bethlehem Central School District in 1985 where he was head of maintenance for many years. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lodge #85 F&AM. He was an avid hunter, a member of the Elsmere Rod & Gun Club and the Albany County Pistol Club. He competed in and won trophies at a New York State competition held at Camp Perry, Ohio. Everett was also a member of the Albany Obedience Club and enjoyed the many dogs he had over the years, bird dogs, coon hounds and Rottweilers. Everett is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy (Klapp) Wilson; two brothers, Dale R. (Carol) Wilson of Venice, Fla. and Robert W. (Carol) Wilson of Slingerlands; and a sister, Dorothy Warner also of Slingerlands; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
