ALBANY Robert M. Auld, 74, former Coxsackie Town Justice died Sunday, September 26, 2004 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Long Island City, New York on December 22, 1929, he was the son of the late Robert M. Auld and Mary Corcoran Auld and husband of Juana Caminos Auld of Albany and Coxsackie, N.Y. Raised and educated in Flushing, N.Y., he was a 1948 graduate of Bishop Loughlin High School. In 1948, he attended St. Francis College in Brooklyn and graduated in 1951 from the University of Notre Dame, Ind. In 1951, he entered Officer's Candidate School in Rhode Island and was commissioned ensign in 1952. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1955. Mr. Auld attended St. John's Law School from 1955 to 1957 and worked for John T. Clancy Law Office, Long Island City in 1957 and Kirlin, Campbell and Keating from 1957 to 1963. Mr. Auld was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1958 and in 1960 to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals Eastern Division, 1959 Southern Division and 1972 Northern Division. In October of 1960 he was admitted to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals with Judge Thurgood Marshall in New York City. He worked in his private practice from 1963 to 1969 and served in the Nassau County District Attorney's Office from 1969 to 1972 and became assistant attorney general, New York 1972 to 1983. He returned to private practice from 1983 to 1985. He later worked for Aetna Casualty and Life from 1985 to 1994 and was Coxsackie Town Justice from 1985 to 1993. Survivors in addition to his wife Juana include his children, Karla A. Pingeton (James) of Marblehead, Mass., Robert M. Auld Jr. (Suzi) of Hoboken, N.J., Alexandra A. Pinheiro (Joaquim) of Menands, N.Y. and John G. Iglesias (Barbara) of Elmont, N.Y.; a sister, Annette Kaicher of White Plains, N.Y. Also survived by ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Battibulli Sr., 74, died Sunday, September 26, 2004 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Joseph and Zenilda Bevilacqua Battibulli. Mr. Battibulli was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a mail handler with the U.S. Postal Service in Albany and retired after over 20 years of service. Mr. Battibulli was a charter member of the Elks Lodge. He was also a member of the Bucci McTague VFW Post and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Battibulli was a longtime communicant of St. Teresa of Avila Church. Husband of Angela Calsolaro Battibulli; father of Sharon Legare of Latham, Joanne Bertsche and her husband Thomas of Chicago and Thomas A. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Fillamina Viola Labocetta and loving wife of the late John T. Godfrey Jr. who passed away in 1988. Mrs. Godfrey will be remembered as a strong, independent woman who was always on the go. She enjoyed cooking and shopping at Colonie Center where she often made new friends. She was 99. Born in Workington, Cumberland, England on August 24, 1905, Norah was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Doyle of Jamshedpur, India. She was married in 1929 to Cornelius James Haley, a native of Gary, Ind., then assistant superintendent of the bricks department of Tata Iron and Steel in Jamshedpur. In 1941, Cornelius was appointed assistant general superintendent of the plant, in 1947 became general superintendent and, from 1954 to 1961, he served as the general manager (G.M.) of what still remains one of the largest steel plants in India. Deeply religious with an abiding faith in God, the two were partners in their service to their adopted hometown and country with a particular commitment to the building of Catholic schools in Jamshedpur. Norah was deeply devoted to kindergarten education and was an honorary teacher at both the Loyola School and St. Mary's Day School, both in Jamshedpur. In their farewell address, the officers of the company cited Mrs. Haley as a true partner to their much beloved G.M. Any successful and happy man owes a large part of his success and happiness to the loving care bestowed on him by his ministering angel-his wife. To that good lady, Mrs. Haley whose unremitting ministrations made it possible for us to enjoy the benefit of working with a man at peace with himself, we offer our tribute and gratitude. In 1965, upon his retirement as vice-president and technical adviser with Tata Incorporated in New York City, the couple moved to Barnegat Bay, N.J. After her husband's death in 1969, Norah enjoyed an active social and travel life until she moved to the Capital Region in 1996 to be near her family. She is survived by her son, Jack C. Haley of Vineland, N.J.; her grandchildren, Lisa and Jonathan Thomson of Albany, N.Y., John G. Haley of Hawthorne, N.J., Patricia, Bruce and Pamela Ewing of Dallas, Texas; and her great-granddaughter, Grace of Albany. Hemstead II, MD, 84, died Saturday, September 25, 2004 after a brief illness. Born in Albany, he was son of the late Dr. John L. and Elizabeth Bucknell Hemstead. He graduated from Albany Academy and Phi Beta Kappa from Union College. After graduating from Harvard Medical School, he served as Lt. JG in the U.S. Navy, stationed at Sampson Naval Base, where he headed the Naval Tuberculosis Clinic. His final posting was at Holloran Naval Hospital in Staten Island. Dr. Hemstead returned to Albany and served his residency under his longtime friend and mentor Dr. Richard Beebe at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He served on the faculty of Albany Medical Center for nearly 50 years and volunteered his time at the AMCH cancer detection clinic. Although in private practice, he always worked closely with his dear friend and colleague Dr. Ralph Reynolds. Dr. Hemstead continued his practice of medicine until 2003 when he retired. Husband of the late Nancy Lee Milner Hemstead who died June 2004; father of Trudy Hemstead Calabrese (Thomas) of Lloyd Harbor, N.Y. and George W. Jubert Jr., Clement ALBANY Clement Jubert Jr. (Guy), 69, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at the Albany County Nursing Home. Born on January 4, 1935 in Troy, N.Y. he was the son of the late Clement Jubert and Dorilla Peltier Jubert. Clement served in the Army National Guard from 1953 to 1961, leaving with the rank of sergeant first class. He volunteered as a Colonie Village fireman from 1964-1972. He was first chief of the Fire Prevention Bureau for the Village of Colonie. He retired from Albany Ladder Co. after 39 years. He was vice president and general manager of the Binghamton branch for five years. Survivors include Margaret Rappazzo Jubert, his wife of 50 years. His daughter, Kathleen (Kenneth) Davis of Nashville; his sons, Guy (Kathleen) of Colonie, John of Nashville, David (Leslie) of Gorham, N.H. and James of Guilderland; brother of Joan (Robert) Farrigan and Diane (Vincent) Catalfamo of Colonie; his cherished grandchildren, Christie, David and Mark Schardt, Guy Jr. Lisa, Elizabeth, Danielle and Jennifer Jubert. Married to Kenneth Keefer for 26 years until his death in 1968. Born in Amsterdam, N.Y. on January 27, 1912 to the late Ervin and Helen Hewitt Keeler, Frances graduated from Amsterdam High School in 1929 and from Cortland Normal School in 1932. receiving a degree in education. She taught grades 4 and 5 for two years and was assistant gym teacher for one year. Frances worked as a dining room supervisor at Emma Willard School in Troy and also worked at Veeders Restaurant in Colonie. Frances worked for Fanny Farmer Candy Shops in various Capital Region locations for ten years. She retired from the Shoporama location in 1971 as store manager. Frances was active in PTA in Amsterdam serving as president for three years. She loved to read especially Dick Francis and volunteered at Watervliet Public Library. She was also active in her church. Frances is the mother of Ellen Macyowskie of Menands and the grandmother of Stephen (Kristina) Macyowskie of Troy and Justin Macyowskie of Cohoes. Survived by a sister, Jane D. Keeler of Conn. and a sister-in-law, Anne Keller of Ilion, N.Y. Predeceased by her sisters, Margaret and Eleanor and brothers, Edward and Lee. Kushnir, Stefania COHOES Stefania Mykytiw Kushnir, 97, of Mangam St. in Cohoes, died Sunday, September 26, 2004, at the Van Rensselaer Manor in Troy, embraced by her loving family. Born in Denysiw, Ukraine, she was the daughter of the late Stefan and Sofia Strochmanczuk Mykytiw and wife of the late Harry (Hryhorij) Kushnir. Stefania received her education in Ukraine and came to the United States in 1948, settling in Cohoes. She was a seamstress for Cluett and Peabody Co. for 24 years, retiring in 1970. She enjoyed gardening, was an accomplished seamstress and was dedicated to her family and home. Stefania was a devout communicant of Sts. Peter & Paul's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Cohoes and a member of the Soyuz Ukrainok for 53 years. Stefania is survived by her devoted and loving daughter, Mrs. Oleh (Helen) Omecinskyj of Cohoes; her cherished grandchildren, Halyna (David) Logan, Kathy Zaborny, Walter and Alex (Kathy) Omecinsky and Stephen (Dina) Kushnir; her adored great-grandchildren, Krystina Logan, Alexandra and Michaela Omecinsky, Zachary and Tyler Zaborny. She was born in Albany and has been a resident of Rensselaer for over 60 years. Mrs. Mann was a graduate of Van Rensselaer High School and was employed in the high school cafeteria for 20 years. Olive was employed as a telephone operator at Rensselaer City Hall, was one of the first women letter carriers during World War II and was employed at John Joseph's Cleaners and Roxy Cleaners in Rensselaer. She also worked for the State of New York and would be seen working at the playgrounds in the City of Rensselaer. Olive was a committee woman for the Democratic Organization in the City of Rensselaer, a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Rensselaer and a member of the church's Rosary Altar Society. She was a Red Cross Ambulance driver in the City of Rensselaer, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Gerald O'Neil American Legion Post in Rensselaer and was past grand regent of the Catholic Daughters of America. Olive was proud of her Irish heritage and loved everything colored green. DELMAR Everett I. Wilson, 76, died on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at the Childs Nursing Home. He as born in Albany, May 2, 1928 to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Roehr) Wilson. Everett retired from the Bethlehem Central School District in 1985 where he was head of maintenance for many years. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lodge #85 F&AM. He was an avid hunter, a member of the Elsmere Rod & Gun Club and the Albany County Pistol Club. He competed in and won trophies at a New York State competition held at Camp Perry, Ohio. Everett was also a member of the Albany Obedience Club and enjoyed the many dogs he had over the years, bird dogs, coon hounds and Rottweilers. Everett is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy (Klapp) Wilson; two brothers, Dale R. (Carol) Wilson of Venice, Fla. and Robert W.
