Case, 79, of Littlebear Road, beloved husband of Elaine (Graulty) Case, died on Saturday, September 25, 2004 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born on August 28, 1925 in Ithaca, N.Y., he was the son of the late Marcius E. and Martha (Crowell) Case. He was a graduate of Albany High School and Paul Smith's College where he earned his associates degree in hotel and resort management. Mr. Case was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served during World War II. A sales professional most of his life, Mr. Case retired as a salesman from Hudson Pharmaceuticals in N.J. He had previously been employed by the Gideon Putnam in Saratoga Springs where he was the sales manager. Mr. Case enjoyed a long affiliation with the Van Schaick Island Country Club as well as with the Shriners and Masons. Devoted father of Timothy H. Tim Case and his wife Susan of Cohoes and Patricia E. Tricia Case of Winter Haven, Fla.; cherished grandfather of Timothy M., Katherine A. and Alex J. She enjoyed many years camping with family and friends. Garrison, Kenneth D. CLIFTON PARK Kenneth D. Garrison, 39, of Green Manor Nursing Home, Ghent and formerly of Clifton Park, died on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at his residence. He was born on June 23, 1965 in Albany, N.Y. He was the beloved son of the late William Donald and Florence Mae Conaway Garrison Sr. He was the son-in-law of Peter and Donna Traider of Round Lake. Mr. Garrison graduated from Colonie Central High School in 1984. He was a school bus driver for the Shenendehowa School system in Clifton Park. Kenneth had been employed at the former Shop Rite store in Glenville, later known as the Great American store. He was the beloved husband of Diane Traider Garrison of Clifton Park, whom he married on May 9, 1998. Kenneth leaves behind two brothers, William (Pamela) Garrison Jr. of Goshen, N.Y. and Alan Craig (Laura) Garrison of Colonie; a sister, Dona (Paul) Terpening of Warwick, R.I.; cherished godfather of Paul Scott and Dana Terpening Jr.; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jane Gorman Gary, of Cohoes, N.Y., following a courageous battle with a long term illness, passed away on the morning of September 29, 2004. Born in Glens Falls, N.Y. on February 26, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruby Gray Gorman. Jane graduated from Queensbury High School in 1955 where she excelled in music. Her specialty was the clarinet, but she was also well versed on the bass clarinet, bassoon, oboe and the saxophone. She went on to graduate from State University of N.Y. at Cortland where she earned a BS in elementary education. This led to a career she loved as a third and fourth grade teacher for the Albany Public School District for 32 years. Twenty-nine of which were served at Giffen Memorial Elementary School. Her dedication, kindness and generosity made her a favorite teacher among the many students whose lives she touched, some of whom have kept in touch throughout the years. Following her retirement in 1994, she spent her time enjoying the company of her many friends and adoring family. Sparked by her love for reading and the understanding of the importance of reading in children's lives, she volunteered time assisting students in Cohoes with reading. Always outgoing, she enjoyed vacationing at beaches and visiting casinos. An avid sports fan, she could often be seen cheering for the Yanks or the Lakers with the rest of the crowd. With her warm genuine smile and her unforgettable sense of humor, she was always the life of the party. Jane's love for animals was immeasurable. Her beloved dogs, Poopsie and Crystal often shared their mom with assorted strays. As a part of her kind, generous nature, Jane would often open her home to pets or people in need, helping to get them back on their paws or feet. Jane is survived by her brother, Peter Gorman of Venice, Fla. She will be dearly missed by her children, John T. Gary and his wife Patricia Verderice Gary of Cohoes, Kathleen Byer and Tracey Murphy, both of Clifton Park. Jackson Sr., John David RENSSELAER John David Jackson Sr., age 66 years, of Highland Avenue, died on Monday, September 27, 2004 at his home with his loving family at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Coles, Miss., he joined the Navy and came to visit his sister in Rensselaer and met his loving wife, Pat and they married in 1959. He worked at Knickerbocker Driveself for 22 years then Hertz, Mack Trucks, Levonian Bros. of Troy and Home Depot in East Greenbush. He was a commissioner for Rensselaer Pop Warner Football, manager of Rensselaer Little League and Babe Ruth. He also served on the board of directors for the Rensselaer Community Center and was a veteran of the US Navy. Dave was always a loving and caring person who always helped at the Northend Neighborhood meetings and also he was supporting and a silent partner for Pat's political endeavors. He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Yankees and Valley Cats. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Roberts Jackson of Rensselaer; dear father of John D. (Krista) Jackson Jr. of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Tina M. Rivenburgh (Charles Scolfield) of Rotterdam and Randy A. Jackson of Rensselaer; beloved grandfather of Holly J. She was also a member of WOTM. He enjoyed golf, skiing, boating and fishing and had become an accomplished woodworker. His special friend was his dog, Murphy. Polansky, Julia SCHUYLERVILLE - LITTLE FALLS Julia Polansky, 86, of 514 Rt. 32S, Schuylerville formerly of Polansky Rd., Little Falls, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 28, 2004 in her home. She was born in Herkimer on July 3, 1918, the daughter of the late Mathew and Tekla Hytko Politylo. Julia attended and graduated from Herkimer schools and later attended and graduated from Utica School of Commerce. She was married to Alec Polansky on November 19, 1949 in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Herkimer. Mr. Polansky passed away on October 18, 2000. Mrs. Polansky was employed as a secretary for the Town of Herkimer Welfare Office and later for Herkimer County Veterans Service Agency, Herkimer for many years. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and a member of it's Sisterhood. Though Julia hadn't lived in the Herkimer area for several years she was very proud to have come from the area and would regale people with stories of her growing up in Herkimer. She especially liked to relate the lessons learned when Miss Tuger was principal of the Herkimer schools, her daily train rides to Utica to attend Utica School of Commerce and her interactions with the people of the Mohawk Valley as she helped them obtain citizenship or assisted veterans with their affairs. Julia was fluent in five languages. Sausville, 60, of Barney Road, died peacefully Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany following a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Troy, N.Y. on March 15, 1944, son of the late Clarence Kay and Margaret Gallagher Sausville. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Hoosick Falls and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He continued his education while serving in the United States Air Force where he entered into the communications field. This introduced him into his career starting with A.T.&T. and continued throughout the restructuring of the Bell System, retiring from Verizon in December 2001 after 35 years of service. Dennis was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church where he had served in the past as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. He was Past Commander of the American Legion Post 1450 in Halfmoon and was a lifetime member. He was a member of the Hoosick Falls Elks Club. Dennis was also a member of the Communication Workers of America. Dennis had the love of the outdoors that truly shined through in his landscaping, gazebo and beautiful flower gardens. Before the onset of his illness, he volunteered at the Yaddo Gardens in Saratoga Springs. He also enjoyed playing golf with his friends and was proud of the fact that he made a hole in one at the Fairways of Halfmoon Golf Course and of late, became somewhat of a fisherman. Fortunately, Elaine and Dennis enjoyed traveling and were able to visit many places in the United States as well as Europe. Dennis was beloved husband of Elaine (Seifert) Sausville, whom he married June 14, 1969; cherished father of Mrs. Daniel (Jennifer) Logan of Canandaigua, N.Y.; and loving grandfather of Natalie and Lily Logan; brother of Mrs. Stephen (Barbara) Johnson of Hoosick Falls, N.Y. and Mrs. Donald (Beverly) Sturtz of LaGrange, Ill. He was the brother-in-law of Mrs. Nathaleen Tukey and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Seifert. He is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mimi Simpson, 58, of Latham, beloved wife for 35 years to Robert A. Simpson, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at her residence with her loving family at her side. Gloria was born in Rochester, N.Y. the daughter of the late Robert and Ann Fichter Lawrence. She graduated from Nazareth College with a bachelor's degree in education. Gloria was a school teacher for three years in Washington, D.C. in the late 1960s to 1970s. From 1976 to 1988, Gloria lived in Loudonville where she was active in the Children's Liturgy at St. Pius X Church for many years and also started the St. Pius Bridge Club where she developed many dear friends. She was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham where she was active in the life teen program. Mimi centered her life on God. She considered her children to be her choicest blessing from God and was always looking for ways to help the less fortunate experience God's love. Gloria was also an active member of the Latham Welcome Wagon. She was an avid bowler and took great pride in her daisy garden. She enjoyed swimming and board games and was an ardent Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins fan. In addition to her husband, Gloria is survived by her loving children, Bob Simpson and his wife Denise, Tim Simpson, Mandy Harpring and her husband Matt, Bill Simpson, Chris Simpson and Steve Simpson. She is also survived by a sister, Marlene Trevor and three brothers, Robert Lawrence, David Lawrence and John Lawrence and her cherished grandson, Owen Robert Simpson. She was the devoted mother to Jennie, Benjamin and Jacob Tapio of Saratoga Springs, Michelle Tapio of Va. and Bethanie Tapio, stationed at Nellis AFB, Nev. Elmore was a lifelong member (76 Years) and served as deacon and elder of the Blooming Grove Reformed Church, a trustee for the Blooming Grove Cemetery for 30 years and a member of the DeFreestville Fire Department for many years. Elmore's joy in life was his family. His wife of 63 years, Ruth (Anderson) Whitegiver predeceased him February 10, 2004.
