RAVENA Robert (Bob) S. Albano, 68, died Sunday, October 2, 2005. He was born and raised in Ravena, a Christian Brothers Academy and Hudson Valley Community College graduate. Bob was employed at Marshall's Transportation Center in Ravena for more than 35 years. He had a passion for people and loved to spend time with his family. He was a musically talented and giving man, who will be missed by those whose lives he touched. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Ann Wittenberg Albano and his parents, the Honorable Sylvester J. and Frances Albano. Booy, 55, of Malden Bridge, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 30, 2005 after a long illness, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 24, 1950 in Syracuse, N.Y. and was the daughter of Mary Gilmartin of Syracuse. She was the former owner of Reach & Grow Daycare in North Chatham. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Valatie and had a very strong faith in God. Janet moved to Albany in 1963 where she met her beloved husband of 36 years, Raymond D. Booy. They were married on October 18, 1969. Janet is survived by her loving husband and best friend Raymond; two sons, Christopher D. Booy and his wife Suzette M. Booy, Jason M. Booy and his future wife Crystal G. Pertgen; one daughter, Erin M. Booy and her future husband Michael F. Miliani; one granddaughter, Amanda G. Booy. Cietek, John Joseph WYNANTSKILL John Joseph Cietek, age 78, husband of Regina Huether Cietek and the late Isabel McGrath Cietek, died Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital, Troy. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late John and Anna Fitzgerald Cietek. He was a graduate of Heatly High School in Green Island and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II serving in the Pacific Theater. He was employed as a chemist at Republic Steel for 12 years and was a supervisor for the Troy Record Circulation Dept., retiring 16 years ago. He lived in Wynantskill for over 30 years and was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church, Wynantskill. Mr. Cietek was also a member of the Watervliet Lodge of Elks #186, the Watervliet American Legion #1615 and the VFW Post #563. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Timothy Cietek of Guilderland and Robert (Bernice) Cietek of Colonie. He was predeceased by a son John J. Hettie, Mary Anne ALBANY Mary Anne Hettie, teacher and world traveler. Following a lengthy illness, Mary Anne, age 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital on Saturday, October 1, 2005. She was born on August 12, 1946, the daughter of Mary (Gordon) Hettie and the late George J. Hettie. Mary Anne is survived by her loving sisters, Carol Clarke and Emily (Peter) Parisi, and her brothers, George (Chris) Hettie Jr. and James (Mari Bennett) Hettie. She is also survived by her cherished nieces, Kassandra Parisi and Gabrielle Hettie, and nephews, George Anthony Hettie and Judson Parisi. In addition, Mary Anne is survived by her uncle and sometime traveling companion, C. Arthur Gordon, as well as an aunt, Gladys Hettie, and cousins, Mary Emily, Michael Hettie, Karen Link and Kevin Gordon. Lastly, she is survived by her many, many friends who were so much a part of her life. Mary Anne was a native and lifelong resident of Albany. She graduated with high honors from Cardinal McCloskey High School and received her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta. Mary Anne earned her master's in education from the State University of New York at Albany. Mary Anne taught hundreds of children to read during her 34-year tenure at School 19 in Albany and, in 2001, was named teacher of the year. When not teaching, she made numerous trips to England, Scotland and Ireland. Her other travels took Mary Anne to France, Germany, Italy, Spain, China, Russia, Japan, Kenya, Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere. Mary Anne also loved her visits to New York City and was especially fond of Broadway musicals. She was also an avid gardener, a gourmet cook and baker of the highest quality. Mary Anne made richer the lives of everyone she knew. She will be sorely missed. Edith was educated in Watervliet schools and graduated from Vincentian Institute in Albany. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Luckey. She was raised in Watervliet and lived in Clifton Park for many years before returning to Watervliet 15 years ago. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Watervliet. Edith was a member of the Latham-Colonie K of C Columbiettes, The A.O.H. in Watervliet and the Auxiliary of the Watervliet V.F.W. Post 729. Born on October 18, 1925 in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Caterina (Peruzzi) Martiniano and was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Martiniano was employed with General Electric in Schenectady for 38 years as a quality control technician, retiring in 1984. Mr. Martiniano was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Schenectady, Corpus Christi Church in Ushers and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Wakefield. He enjoyed singing with church and community choral groups, as well as supporting and boasting of his grandchildren's accomplishments. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus in downtown Schenectady. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Francis and Margaret Hourigan McKeever and the husband of Mary A. McKeever. He attended Troy Parochial schools, graduated from the second class of HVCC and attended Siena College. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. He graduated from the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Okla. Later serving as a crew chief on long range bombers. He was employed by Norton Company and Bendix and retired from the New York State Dept. of Tax and Finance after almost 30 years of service. Mr. McKeever was a 45 year member of the Troy Elks #141 and a lifetime member of the Emerald Club. He was also a member of the Tibbits Cadets and the Veterans of Lansingburgh. He was formerly a member of St. Michael's Church and is currently a communicant of St. Augustine's Church, Troy. He was an avid card player and enjoyed horse racing. He loved golfing, history, fishing, travel and the City of Troy. He also loved his family and his Irish heritage. Survivors in addition to his wife, include his daughter, Maureen E. Jarosz of Cohoes and the late George G. Mosher. Buck was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Berlin High School. He was employed with Machnick Electric, Inc. of Troy at the time of his death. An avid NASCAR enthusiast, Buck's favorite drive was Dale Earnhardt Sr. He was devoted to his children and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. In addition to his mother, Buck is survived by his loving children, Sean Denue of Stephentown, Sara Meyer, Jessica Lewis, both of Hoosick Falls, Rebecca, Nicole, Kayla and Shawn Mosher, all of Cohoes and Jordan Mosher-Hawk of Grafton; his adored grandchildren, Daniel and Isaiah Meyer, Breanna Lewis and Noah Meyer; his sister, Barbara A. Roberts, Patricia Ann WATERFORD Patricia Ann Roberts, 55, of 3rd Avenue, died unexpectedly Friday, September 30, 2005. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of Michael J. and Ethel Bradt Krutka of Cohoes and she was a 1968 graduate of the former Keveny Academy. Pat was employed for the past 18 years at SunMark Federal Credit Union in Schenectady formerly the Watervliet Arsenal Federal Credit Union. Prior to that she had worked at the Key Bank and Cluett and Peabody Co. She was a member of the PAA in Cohoes. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Candice Roberts of Albany; her sister, Gail M. Cook and her husband James of Latham; her grandson, Ryan Alexander Reid Lewis of Conn.; her fiance, Paul Smith of Waterford as well as several nieces, nephews, many friends and extended family. SCHENECTADY Malcolm C. Snowden Sr., 92, of Kingsway Arms Nursing Home, died Friday, September 30, 2005 at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Solvay, N.Y., Mr. Snowden had lived in Schenectady most of his life. He worked at the General Electric Company for 37 years until retiring. Subsequently, he worked at Macy's in Colonie Center and later at Englebardt's liquor store in Schenectady. For several years, Mr. Snowden was a scoutmaster for Troop #1 in Schenectady. He was a member of the Edison Club. He was an avid golfer and loved baseball. Mr. Snowden was predeceased by his first wife Audrey C. Snowden. She died in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Leona June Snowden; two sons, Malcolm C. Snowden Jr. of Ballston Spa and Gene T. Snowden of Schenectady; two grandchildren, Nick Snowden and Laura Snowden, both of Schenectady and three stepchildren. He was born in Albany and raised in Loudonville, son of the late Donald H. and Mary Ellen (Steinbach) Sturm. Mr. Sturm was the auto store manager at Monroe Muffler in Glenmont. Donnie was a longtime member of the Melvin Roads Post 1231 American Legion and a member of the Watervliet Elks Lodge for over 25 years. He had a passion for antique cars, was a known Chevrolet aficionado and enjoyed restoring muscle cars. Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Jayne Wright Sturm; and a daughter, Anne Marie Sturm of Albany; as well as three stepsons, Michael Harling, Benjamin Harling and Mitchell Harling. Donnie is also survived by his brother, Rick (Dianne) Sturm of Albany; sister, Diane (Michael) Myers of Albany; niece, Maggie Sturm; three nephews, Kevin Sturm, Clayton (Kate) Koonce and Mikey Koonce; an aunt, Anne Sturm of Va.; and numerous cousins. Trischetta, 88, of Berkshire Blvd., Albany, N.Y., entered into eternal life on September 30, 2005 after a brief illness. He was born on September 16, 1917, in Staten Island, N.Y., the son of the late Vincenzo and Palmira Bersani Trischetta. His beloved wife of 59 years, Josephine Mirella Trischetta, predeceased him in November 2000. Dominic was the loving father of Ronald (Linda) Trischetta of Colonie and Janet (Paul) DelVecchio of Albany; cherished grandfather of Gina (Todd) Hanley of Guilderland, Paul and Lisa DelVecchio, both of Albany, and Brian Trischetta of Colonie and doting poppy to his three great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Kaysie and Daniel Hanley of Guilderland. Dominic was predeceased by his sister, Mildred Agolia; brother, Eugene Trischetta; and brothers-in-law, Frank Mirella, Joseph Mirella, Joseph Agolia, George Bushee; and sisters-in-law, Ann Bushee and Gladys Mirella. Vermette, Ovila COLONIE, N.Y. and JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. Mr. Ovila Edward Vermette, 74, of Colonie and Jefferson City, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born May 12, 1931 in Washington, Vt., the son of the late Joseph and Stella Jandreau Vermette. He was married in 1956 in Albany, N.Y. to Nancy Ostrander, who preceded him in death on March 25, 1996. Mr. Vermette served in the United States Army in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong member of the Teamsters Local 294. Survivors include one son, Edward Vermette of Colonie, N.Y.; two daughters, Charlene Scott and Linda Ford, both of Jefferson City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. (Linhard) Wagoner was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 30, 2005 at Eden Park Health Care Center in Cobleskill, N.Y. Julia was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on March 31, 1918 but lived most of her life in East Berne. She worked as a shipping clerk in the former Albany Castings foundry in Voorheesville before becoming an elementary school secretary in 1965 at the Berne-Knox school. She retired in 1981. She loved to play the piano and sing. Her lovely soprano voice was heard for years in the church choir at the First Reformed Church of Berne. Julia was also active in the Reformed Church Women's group and the social club. Julia was a lady with a big heart who was always there to help those in need, from the tearful child in the school office to the hurting adult in the community. She brought love, joy and comfort to those she touched. Survivors include daughters, Dawn (Peter) Johnson of Schoharie and Diane Henningson of Westerlo; granddaughter, Kimberly (Laurence) Fergison of San Francisco; and great-grandchildren, Penelope and Alec; a sister, Madeline Kreuzer of Marshfield, Vt.; brother-in-law, John Mc Hugh of Albion, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Junius, and sisters, Lillian Smith, Clara Schlieper and Ida Mc Hugh. Yetto, 57, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2005 after a long illness at Ellis Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Marsha was born on April 20, 1948 in Troy and is the daughter of Dorothy (Hoskins) Malcolm and the late Jason Malcolm. She attended Castleton College in Vermont. Marsha worked as an audit clerk for NYS Audit Control for 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and family. In addition to her mother, Marsha is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Bruce P. Yetto; her loving son and daughter-in-law, Mark J. and Peggy Yetto; her cherished grandsons, Mark J. Yetto Jr. and Matthew D. Yetto; her only cousin, Mrs. Barbara Brenenstul and 17 nieces and nephews. She was a 1973 graduate of Shaker High School and attended both Hudson Valley Community College and the University of Nebraska. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Latham where she taught Sunday School and was the former church secretary.
