Bartlett Carr, 91, of Harris Avenue, died peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2005 at Wesley Health Care Center, Saratoga Springs, following an extended illness. Born January 8, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Ada Russell Bartlett. Mrs. Carr was a seamstress who worked for a number of years at the former Berk-Ray of Troy and earlier at the Stillwater Knitting Mill and Korell Dress Mfgrs. of Mechanicville.She was a member of the United Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union. She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd Carr, and sisters, Myrtle Sharp, Winifred Lanzara and Iva Colucci. He was owner and operator of the Hess Station on Maxon Road and Nott Street, Schenectady since 1973 and former owner operator of Sunoco A Plus on Broadway, Saratoga Springs. He was a member of the Gasoline Retailer Association of New York and the Northern New York Paddler Club in Schenectady. He was a Marine veteran and belonged to the American Legion Post 1450, Clifton Park. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Ostiguy Cole of Clifton Park; father of Christina Cole of Clifton Park and William M. Cole of Bakersfield, Calif.; grandfather of Raleigh R. Powell II and Casey D. Cordell, 82, died September 3, 2005 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Boston, Mass. to the late Albert and Anna Friedberg Lewenberg, she had lived in this area for the past 18 years. She was the loving wife of David P. Cordell for almost 54 years, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed bingo, the Red Sox and collecting clowns. Dake Jr., Stanley B. GREENFIELD CENTER Staff Sgt. Stanley B. Dake Jr. of Sand Hill Road died unexpectedly Saturday, September 3, 2005 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Middle Line Road in the town of Milton while on his way to work to support Operation Katrina. He was 26. He was born on June 19, 1979 in Saratoga Springs. He was a 1998 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. At the present time, SSG Dake was assigned to Company C of the 142nd Air Assault of the NY Army National Guard. SSG Stanley Dake Jr., joined the NYARNG on March 25, 1997. After basic training and AIT, he came to be a member of E CO. 3/142 located at Latham at the Albany International Airport. At that time, he was a 67T Blackhawk aircraft mechanic. He showed true technical proficiency on these aircraft and came up through the ranks ahead of his peers. SSG Dake was promoted to the rank of SGT on April 7, 2002 and assumed the position of Maintenance Section SGT. During his tenure in this position, he showed true leadership skills and was instrumental in sustaining a high aircraft availability status. SSG Dake, because of his technical expertise, was moved to the quality control section as a technical inspector in C CO. 3/142. In this section, he showed true knowledge of quality assurance procedures. Stan was also presently employed part time at Sears at Wilton Mall where he worked in the hardware department. He enjoyed hunting, restoring cars and spending time with his family. His family will remember his as one who was loving, caring and thoughtful of others. He is survived by his father, Stanley B. Hardesty, 80, of Ballston Spa died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the DVA Medical Center, Albany. Born in Scotia, August 16, 1925, he was the son of the late Llewelyn and Lois Hardesty. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was awarded a purple heart. Donald worked for Rocky Mountain Gas Co. in Aspen, Colo. for many years. Upon his retirement, he resided in Sand Point, Idaho and Thailand and returned to this area in 2001. He was a world traveler and was interested in the environment. He enjoyed skiing, hiking and spending time in the outdoors. He was predeceased by a daughter Sheryl Hardesty. Survivors include his two daughters, Pamela Hardesty of Tucson, Ariz. and Donna Higley of Ballston Spa; his sister, Elaine (Charles) Turnbull of Scotia; five grandchildren, Holly Deutchman, Catherine Higley, Clare Higley, Matthew Searl and Sarah Hardesty. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Helen Siver Coulson. She was a graduate of the Albany Girls Academy and attended Russell Sage College. Mrs. Hutchins was an art teacher for several years at the Albany Girls Academy. She was a member of the Third Reformed Church and was active with the Women of Third. Mrs. Hutchins was a former member of Normanside Country Club in Delmar and the Aurania Club of Albany. She was an excellent artist and a talented knitter. An avid golfer, she was the first woman to make a hole-in-one at the Winding Brook Country Club in Valatie. Wife of the late Mason C. Kennedy, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 2, 2005 following a long illness. Mr. Kennedy was born on September 21, 1927 in Lake Placid, N.Y. to George and Marion Kennedy. He was educated in Lake Placid Schools and served in the Navy in World War II aboard the Escort Carrier USS Core CVE13 with the sixth fleet in the Pacific. After being honorably discharged in 1946, he resided in Schenectady, N.Y. Mr. Kennedy was a master plumber and steamfitter with Local 105 from 1947 until his retirement in 1989, working most recently at the General Dynamics at the Kesselring site in West Milton. Mr. Kennedy was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Church in Rotterdam, N.Y. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, George Kennedy, and four sisters, Doris Kennedy, Anita Kennedy, Frances Gadway and Charis LaLonde. Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Geraldine Fancher Kennedy; his four loving daughters, Sylvia Heiner (Paul) of Saratoga Springs, Diane King (Richard) of Rotterdam, Cynthia Cheney (Charles) of N.H., Ramona Carson (Russell) of Niskayuna; nine grandchildren, Paul J. Nadeau Miron of Rexford, died on Friday, September 2, 2005 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Waterford on March 13, 1921, he was the son of the late William J. and Bertha LaPlante Miron. Mr. Miron was a graduate of Cohoes High School and earned his B.S. degree in physics from Siena College. He also attended RPI and Russell Sage evening division colleges and earned a certificate in formation for ministry from the Diocese of Albany. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Miron was the president and owner of Miron's for Floors, Lifetime Plastics Corporation in Cohoes. He was a musician member of AFM Local #14, a communicant of St. Bonaventure's Church in Speigletown and previously St. John's Church in Schaghticoke. For 27 years, he taught CCD, was a lector and eucharistic minister at both churches and while at St. Bonaventure's, also served as an organist and pianist. Survivors, in addition to his wife, are his loving children, Bernadette Miron and Linda Rose of Loudonville, Richard and Susan Miron of Malta, Jeanne and Kenneth Speanburg Sr. of Clifton Park, Marie Jahne of Schenectady and Mark Miron of Des Moines, Iowa; his sister, Alice and her husband Clement Turgeon of Cohoes; also survived by 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Norton, Mildred B. NORTH GREENBUSH Mildred B. Mosher Norton, 95, of Van Rensselaer Manor died on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at her residence, after a long illness. Born in Nassau, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha Hall Bauer and wife of the late Earl Mosher and John H. Norton. Mildred was a lifelong resident of Rensselaer Co. and had retired from Guilderland Reinsurance Co. in Guilderland. She was a member of the National Grange, a former active member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in East Schodack and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Sand Lake. Survivors include three sons, Gale E. Mosher of Averill Park, Donald L. Mosher of West Sand Lake and Robert F. Mosher of Latham; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. Mildred was the mother of the late Harold E. Mosher; sister of the late Lawrence and Charles Bauer and Maud Howran. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. She was a life resident of Albany, born May 6, 1921, the daughter of the late William F. and Luva Bonnville Cody. She attended Albany High School and had been employed by the Greenwood Advertising Co. in Menands. She was the devoted wife of the late Harry A. Weiss and was the wonderful mother of a son, Harry and a daughter, Darlene (Thomas) Nicholson; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Those who knew her, knew that she was a very outgoing and loving person. She especially loved three friends, Rose, Irene and Millie. The Reverend John Bradley was always there for her. She was also predeceased by two brothers, William and John Cody. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 7, 2005, 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 609 Central Avenue, Albany.
