ALBANY Entered into rest, Ernest J. Beaudoin, DDS, on Sunday, September 4, 2005 at home after a brief illness. Born in Troy, N.Y., Dr. Beaudoin attended St. Jean's and St. Lawrence's Catholic schools and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1941. He entered military service in 1942 and served in the European theater in England, France and Belgium until 1945. He graduated from Siena College in 1950 and from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1954. He practiced dentistry in Albany from 1955-1988. Dr. Beaudoin was a life member of the American Dental Association, Third District Dental Association, and the NYS Dental Association. Survivors include a beloved sister, Mrs. Marie Anne Brennan (James) of Troy; a brother, Euclide P. Beaudoin of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; many nieces and nephews and very dear friends. There are no viewing hours. Dr. Beaudoin has made a designation to the anatomical gift program at Albany Medical College. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 12 at 9:00 a.m. at Historic St. Mary's in Albany. Published in the Albany Times Union on 9/6/2005. Boak, Anna (Nancy) ALBANY Anna (Nancy) Boak RSCJ, 91 years, died at Kenwood Convent of the Sacred Heart, Sunday, September 4, 2005. Born in Hubbard Woods, Ill., July 30, 1914, Nancy was the fourth of five children born to Robert Boak and Anna Mary Donnelly. She entered the Society of the Sacred Heart at Kenwood in Albany in June, 1934 and made her Final Vows at Kenwood in 1944. Sr. Boak began her years of ministry in 1937 and from then until 1972, she taught in Schools of the Sacred Heart in San Francisco, Omaha, Seattle, Menlo Park, Calif. and Chicago. Sr. Boak taught reading, French and music to elementary school children. From her childhood, she loved music, particularly classical music and found great joy in teaching it to her students as well as in playing the organ. From 1972 until 1982, Sr. Boak served as a volunteer in parish ministry at St. Cecila's Cathedral and St. Bernard's Parish in Omaha, Neb. where, among other things, she sang in the Cathedral choir. In 1989, Sr. Boak returned to Albany to retire at the Kenwood Convent. Her sister, Alice, and her brothers, Charles, Robert and Barney have preceded her in death. A Vigil will be held in the chapel at Kenwood Convent on Tuesday, September 6 at 4:30 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Convent Chapel on Wednesday, September 7 at 9:00 a.m. Interment follows in the Convent Cemetery. Finch, Albany native, Princeton professor and secretary emeritus, died in Jamesburg on August 25, 2005 at age 95. He was captain of the Albany High swimming team and was an Eagle Scout at age 12. He graduated in 1931 from Cornell University, where he also received his master's and doctoral degrees in English. In 1936, Dr. Finch joined the Princeton University faculty, where he taught until his retirement in 1975. He served as dean of the college 1955-61 and as secretary of the university 1966-74. He authored works on the life of Sir Thomas Browne (17th-century English doctor and writer) and contributed articles on education and teacher training to several scholarly journals. Finch received honorary LHD degrees from St. Lawrence University and Ripon College and was a member of the Princeton Small Animal Veterinary Endowment. During retirement, he read for the blind. Finch loved the outdoors and spent many summers in the Adirondacks. He was married to the late Nancy Goheen of Princeton. He is survived by two daughters, Anne Finch of Rensselaer, N.Y. and Abigail Finch of Round Hill, Va. A private interment will take place in Fort Ann, N.Y. CLIFTON PARK Vincent C. Galluzzo Sr., 78, of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 1, 2005. He was born in Albany on March 23, 1927 and was the son of the late Aiello and Josephine Antico Galluzzo. Vince was the owner and operator of Vince's Upholstery in Albany for several years before retiring. He was an accomplished bowler and enjoyed the sport for many years. He will long be remembered for wide hook and his big smile. He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Alice Mango Galluzzo and their loving pet, Foxy; loving father of Deborah Gouvis, Denise Lamphere (Stan), Vincent Galluzzo Jr., Tina Romano (Joseph) and Theresa Lamb (John); cherished grandfather of Nicole, John, Pasquale, Stan Jr., Christie, Alicia, Amber, Gabrielle, Vincent III, Jeremy, Joshua and Justin; loving brother of Mae Galluzzo, Emily Higgins, Laura Dalton and the late Rose Futia; brother-in-law of Frederick Mango; also survived by two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. EAST GREENBUSH Anthony J. Glebatis, 80, of East Greenbush, died Friday, September 2, 2005 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Albany, he was educated at Russell Sage College, Troy, N.Y. and Biarritz University in France. He was a systems analyst with the health department and later the NYS Department of Transportation, prior to retiring in 1983 after 30 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Melvin Roads Post 1231 in East Greenbush. He was an avid poker player and loved the casinos. Predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Josephine (Janczys) Glebatis; his wife, Rose M. (Della Rocco) Glebatis; two sisters, Jane Walas and Connie Casatelli; one brother, John H. Glebatis. December 23, 1983, Jeffrey was the son of Keith J. and Judy (Lindemann) Henderson of Pittstown. Jeff was a graduate of Tamarac High School, class of 2002 and currently attending Hudson Valley Community College working toward a degree in accounting. For the past five years, Jeff has been employed as a motorcycle assembly mechanic at Troy City Garage in Brunswick. An avid dirt bike rider, Jeff enjoyed the hobbies of snowboarding, ice fishing, stockcar racing and racing BMX bicycles. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Staff Sgt. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Helen Siver Coulson. She was a graduate of the Albany Girls Academy and attended Russell Sage College. Mrs. Hutchins was an art teacher for several years at the Albany Girls Academy. She was a member of the Third Reformed Church and was active with the Women of Third. Mrs. Hutchins was a former member of Normanside Country Club in Delmar and the Aurania Club of Albany. She was an excellent artist and a talented knitter. An avid golfer, she was the first woman to make a hole-in-one at the Winding Brook Country Club in Valatie. Wife of the late Mason C. Born in Albany, May 5, 1911, she was the daughter of the late George and Ada Sanderson Myers and former wife of the late Bernard Bucky Petronis. Alice had been a nurse's aide at the former Leonard Hospital and Samaritan Hospital, both in Troy, also the Korell Dress Mfgrs. of Mechanicville and during World War II, the G.E. of Schenectady. A communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville, she enjoyed traveling and was an avid bingo player. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Kehoe of Mechanicville; her two sons, Kenneth and wife Rose Petronis of Stillwater and John and wife Shelly Petronis of Plattville, Wis.; a stepson Earl and wife Barbara Kehoe of Mechanicville; grandchildren, Kathy Forrister, Cheryl Faas, Kenneth J., Daniel, James and Brian Petronis along with 13 great and one great-great-grandchildren. (Keneston) Kentzel, 59, lost her brave, hard-fought battle with her illness on Sunday, September 4, 2005 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Albany she was a lifelong resident of Rensselaer. During her life she worked at Key Bank and for the Internal Revenue Service prior to retiring several years ago. She was a fun loving person who enjoyed reading, playing cards and most recently surfing the Internet. She found great pleasure in spending time with her dog Casey, and her grandchildren. Livingston, 80, of Curry Road, died Sunday, September 4, 2005 at St. Clares Hospital. Born in Albany, Eugene was the son of the late Edward and Ceinwen Livingston and a graduate of Granville High school. For more than 40 years Eugene worked as a plumber out of Local 775 before retiring in the late 1980s. He was also a member of V.F.W. Post 1895 in Rotterdam. Eugene was predeceased in 1995 by his wife of 40 years Thelma (Gordon) Livingston who he married on January 29, 1946. He was also predeceased by a son, Mark E. Livingston, his brother, Edward Livingston and a sister, Lorraine Marcklinger. Survivors include two sons, Donald R. Livingston and wife Edna of Schenectady and Michael E. Livingston and wife Ginger of East Patchogue, N.Y.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Charles J. Marto Sr., 77, of Ormond Beach, Fla., formerly of Albany, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2005 after a brief illness. He was born in New York City and was the son of the late Martin and Gertrude Carroll Marto. Charlie was an automobile salesman for over 30 years throughout the city of Albany. Along with his wife Peg, they owned and operated Red Baron Tavern on Lake Onderdonk in the town of Westerlo for several years. He and Peg have since resided in Florida for over 20 years. Charlie is the beloved husband of 51 years to Margaret Reilly Marto. He is the devoted father of Charles Marto Jr., Marge Wigger, Thomas Marto, Maureen Marto, Edward Marto, James Marto and Michelle Marto. He is also survived by six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. SLINGERLANDS Pauline A McAvoy, 86, died peacefully Monday, September 5, 2005 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness. Daughter of the late Howard and Anna Oliver of Newtonville, Pauline was the beloved wife of the late John A. McAvoy of Rensselaer and mother of Jean Guyon and son-in-law Gary. In addition to her family, Pauline is survived by her lifelong, dearest friend, Barbara M. Graffunder of Menands. Retired in 1985 from the United States Railroad Retirement Board after 45 years of service, Pauline was an avid traveler who journeyed to all corners of the world. She loved animals and enjoyed gardening, reading, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. Nadeau Miron of Rexford, died on Friday, September 2, 2005 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Waterford on March 13, 1921, he was the son of the late William J. and Bertha LaPlante Miron. Mr. Miron was a graduate of Cohoes High School, and earned his B.S. degree in physics from Siena College. He also attended RPI and Russell Sage evening division colleges and earned a Certificate in Formation for Ministry from the Diocese of Albany. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Miron was the president and owner of Miron's for Floors, Lifetime Plastics Corporation in Cohoes. He was a musician member of AFM Local #14, a communicant of St. Bonaventure's Church in Speigletown and previously St. John's Church in Schaghticoke. For 27 years, he taught CCD, was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at both churches and while at St. Bonaventure's, also served as an organist and pianist. Survivors in addition to his wife, are his loving children, Bernadette Miron and Linda Rose of Loudonville, Richard and Susan Miron of Malta, Jeanne and Kenneth Speanburg Sr. of Clifton Park, Marie Jahne of Schenectady and Mark Miron of Des Moines, Iowa; his sister, Alice and her husband Clement Turgeon of Cohoes. Born and raised in Bronx, N.Y., son of the late Jeremiah and Catherine (Bohan) O'Connor, Daniel lived most of his adult life in the Capital District. Before retiring in 1982, Daniel worked for 30 years as a communications tester for Niagara Mohawk. A World War II veteran, Daniel was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force stationed in Iceland and Scotland. Daniel was also a member of the Niagara Mohawk 25 Year Club and the Niagara Mohawk Pensioners Club. Peluso, Jennie MECHANICVILLE Miss Jennie Peluso, 92, of Grove Street, died Monday morning, September 5, 2005 at Maplewood Manor, Ballston Spa after an extended illness. A communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church, though childless, Jennie looked after and enjoyed the love and company of her nieces and nephews. Platt, 87, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Gussie was born on August 24, 1918 in Albany. Gussie served in the U.S. Army with the 4th Armored Division during World War II as a tank commander in European Theater and served in the Battle of the Bulge. He attained the rank of sergeant. He worked at General Electric as setup machinist and instructor in L.S.T. G. for 40 years before retiring in 1980. While serving in the Army, his division was training in the California desert during the filming of Sahara with Humphrey Bogart. He played a German, one of the groups trying to capture a waterhole held by Bogart and others. Gussie was a member of the Quarter Century Club and West Albany Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed flying-having his pilot's license, growing flowers and veggies were a passion as was hunting and fishing and he was the greatest joke teller of Colonie. Gussie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lorraine J. (Wnuk) Platt; his daughter, Karen S. Platt; and his grandson, Andrew A. Weloth. He was a loving uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Elmer Buck and Henry Platt and sisters, Alma Dalham, Edna Fitzgerald, Rose Turnbull, Emma Sautter and Margaret Jones. Ross, 75, of Crown Point passed away Friday, September 2, 2005 in the arms of his son Randy at the family homestead on Hogback Road. Willis was born on April 29, 1930 in Crown Point son of the late Albert Ross and Eva Ross Lindeman. Willis retired from International Paper in Ticonderoga after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart during his tour of duty. On June 28, 1952 he married Patricia Sheehan. Together they raised three children. Survivors include his wife Patty; a daughter, Cindy Ross Collins and husband Michel of Union Maine; one son, Randy and wife Elizabeth of Ballston Lake; a daughter, Mindy Ross Bremer and husband John of Newark, N.Y.; grandchildren, Shawn Collins, Kristi Collins, Nicole Ross, Dustin Ross, Loren Ross, Kayleigh Bremer, Kristin Bremer and Ashley Bremer; two great-grandchildren, Jayme Stone and Michael Ross; four brothers, Arnold Ross, Carl Ross, Robert Ross, Joseph Ross; three sisters, Gloria Tubbs, Donna Spaulding and Shirley Beach. Willis was predeceased by five brothers, Wesley, Ernest, Donald, Harold, Richard and one sister Flora Thatcher. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born in Cohoes on November 6, 1967, Sandra was raised in both Green Island and Watervliet. She was a 1985 graduate of Watervliet High School and later attended Maria College. At the time of her death, Sandra was employed as an administrative assistant in the Labor and Delivery Department of the Albany Medical Center Hospital. A dialysis patient for the past 13 years, Sandra focused little on her own illness and gave selflessly of herself to others by volunteering for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and for the Children's Hospital at the Albany Medical Center Hospital. A Roman Catholic, she attended Mass at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill. Beloved wife of Stephen C. Spencer; cherished mother of Amanda K.
