The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** From Military Pension Application of URIAN DAVIS (War of 1812) Application number 7778: "State of New York County of Allegany On this 11th day of May Eighteen Hundred Fifty Five personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace within & for said County & State aforesaid URIAN DAVIS aged 71 years a resident of the town of Angelica in the County aforesaid who being duly sworn according to law declares that he is the identical URIAN DAVIS who was a private in a Company of Militia Commissioned by CAPTAIN SELIC in a Regiment commanded by Colonel BELLING the War With Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812 - That he was drafted in the town of Guilford in Chenango County in the State aforesaid in or about the month of September 1813 as he best can recollect & believes & went out with actual service for the term of fourteen days & was honorably discharged at Sacket Harbor some time in October or November following the month of September aforesaid. That he has hereafter made application Bounty Land under the Act of September 1850 [The remainder of this affidavit was not included in the records sent to me]
