Brown buwbrown@comcast.net September 1, 2008, 2:06 pm Invalid Pension Application Jan. 24, 1884: application for invalid pension by Andrew Jackson Reynolds, aged 42, of Scio, Allegany Co., N.Y. Enlisted Aug. 22, 1862, honorably discharged at Elmira, N.Y. on June 8, 1865. Co. F, 141st Regt. N.Y. Volunteers. 5"8", light complexion, light hair, blue eyes. On march from Columbia, S.C. to Raleigh, N.C. in April 1863, he was taken sick with rheumatism. Was treated in camp from incurrence of the disease to discharge by O.S. Greenman, Asst. Surgeon of the Regt. Since leaving the service he has resided in Scio, a farmer. He is partially disabled. Service record showed that Oct. 31, 1863 he was on furlough home. Hospital muster rolls Dec. 31, 1862 and Feb. 28, 1863 show him present employed as cook. Jan. 23, 1886: M.V. Sherwood, aged 43, of Hornellsville, Steuben Co., deposed as commander of Company F, 141st NY Vols. at the time claimant was taken sick with rheumatism of back and hips on the march from Columbia, S.C. to Raleigh, N.C. No date: George P. Worden, aged 48, of Scio, deposed that he has known claimant since July 1, 1865. I lived just about 1 mile from the claimant in 1865. I remember that he was suffering from rheumatism when he came home from the army in June 1865. I lived abut five years in close proximity to the claimant and saw him almost every day and saw him perform but little manual labor for the reason of his rheumatism. In last 14 years I should say he has performed manual labor only about 1/2 time. My post office address is Scio, Allegany Co., N.Y. No date: John A. Sanders, aged 43, of Scio, deposed the same as a neighbor since July 1865. Aug. 13, 1884: Adjutant General's Office reported that Regimental Hospital records are not on file. No evidence of alleged disability. Sept. 5, 1899: answers to questionnaire addressed to pensioners. Married to Ida (Cone) Reynolds. Marriage took place Dec. 25, 1870, performed by A.A. Allen, J.P., Hebron, Potter Co., Pa. Has marriage certificate. Neither he nor wife had been previously married. Children living: Ella B. Reynolds, born Oct. 18, 1875. May 21, 1892: had applied for increase in pension about a year previous, but application had been rejected. Mar. 11, 1896: Andrew Jackson Reynolds, aged 55, of Wellsville, Allegany Co., applied for increase in pension. Jan. 15, 1898: Answers to questionnaire. Married to Idaett (Coneman) Reynolds. Married at Hebron, Pa., Dec. 25, 1870 by A.L. Allen, J.P. Have certificate. Neither party was previously married. One child living: Ella, born Oct. 18, 1875. Feb. 27, 1907: Anna M. Reynolds, aged 52, applied for pension which had accrued since death of her husband on Feb. 8, 1907. She was married as Anna Maybee to said pensioner at Scio on May 30, 1903 by David White, Minister of the Gospel. My former husband died about May 1890 at Scio, N.Y., and the only former wife of soldier died about February 1901 at Wellsville, N.Y. P.O. address: Scio, N.Y.
