David Samuelsen Allegany Co NY Wills Vol. 2B page 297 ALDRICH, Marmaduke I, Marmaduke Aldrich of the Town of Granger County of Allegany, farmer, do make and pubish this my last will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made and first I direct that my body be decently intered and my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding with my Estate and Situation in life and as to such worldly goods and chattles as it hath pleased give to interest me with - I dispose of the same as follows: First I direct that all my debts and funeral charges be paid as soon after my decease as possible out of the first monies that shall come in to the hands of my Executors from any portion of my Estate Real or personal. Also I direct that a fair valuation or appraisement be made by three judicious Neighbours of all my Estate including my household furniture and after being signed with their names that a copy of the same shall be given by them to each of my Executors. I also direct that so much of my personal property as will be sufficent to pay my debts be sold for that purpose and the remainder kept together so long as the use and profits thereof shall be sufficent to maintain in a respectable manner my dear wife Polly who I hereby bequeath the use of the same if she shall see fit to except of the same in sum of her thirds and in csae the use of what I have is not sufficent to maintain my wife as above, I do hereby vest in my Executors full power and authority to dispose of my real Estate in fee simple or for a term of years or otherwise in as full and large a manner in every respect as I could myself do if living and out of the product of such sale provide for my wife through her natural life and what remains of my worldly effects I will divided by my said Executors Equally between my dear children Gideon P. Aldrich, Amasa Aldrich, Benjamin Aldrich, Nelson Aldrich and my daughters Sally Root, Mary Berry and in case my wife do not survive me I there desire my property be disposed of and equally divided among my said children unless a satisfactory division can be made without sale. I do hereby make and ordain my son Amasa Aldrich and Samuel C. Jones Executors of this my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I Marmaduke Aldrich the Testator have to this my last will written on this half sheet set my hand and seal this 6th day of July 1846.
