The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** Record of the Will of Alanson Kenyon Deceased In the name of God Amen I Alanson Kenyon of the town of Wirt County of Allegany and State of New York of the age of Sixty four years and being of sound mind and memory do make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say that I give and bequeath to my wife Mary L. Kenyon all my personal Estate of every name and kind whatsoever to be used by her as she may deem proper after the payment of all my debts. Second I give, devise and bequeath to my said wife the sole use and occupation of all my real estate during the natural life of my said wife, giving and granting to my said wife full power to sell and convey by deed or otherwise all or any part of said Real Estate and using any part or the whole avails of said Real Estate and lastly I hereby appoint my said wife Executrix of this my last Will and Testament. Alanson Kenyon Dated: Oct. 19, 1871 The above instrument consisting of one sheet was out the date thereof Signed, Sealed, Published and declared by the said Alanson Kenyon as and for his last Will and Testament in presence of us and who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each of other have Subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. Wm. H. King Residing in Friendship C. W. King Residing in Friendship Surrogate Court County of Allegany In the matter of proving the Will of Alanson Kenyon Deceased County of Allegany … William H. King and Charles W. King of the town of Friendship in the County of Allegany aforesaid being duly sworn do depose and say that they are the subscribing witnesses to the last Will and Testament of Alanson Kenyon late of the town of Wirt in the County of Allegany aforesaid deceased and these deponents further say that the said Alanson Kenyon the said Testator did in the presence of these deponents subscribe his name at the end of the instrument which is now shown and exhibited to these deponents and which purports to be the last Will and Testament of the said Alanson Kenyon and which ____ date on the day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy one and these deponents do further say that the said Testator did at the said time of subscribing his name on aforesaid at the end of said Will declare the said instrument so subscribed and now exhibited to be his last Will and Testament and these deponents in the presence of each other did thereupon subscribe their names at the end of the said Will as attesting witnesses thereto in the presence and at the request of the said testator and these deponents further say that at the said time when the said Testator subscribed his name to the said last Will as aforesaid and at the time of these deponents subscribing their names as attesting witnesses thereto as aforesaid the said Testator was of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a Will and was not under any restraint, and that the said will now appears in all respects as when so executed without any alteration whatsoever. Green, Surrogate of Allegany County Allegany County Surrogate Office It appearing from and upon the proofs taken in respect to the last Will and Testament of Alanson Kenyon late of the town of Wirt in the County of Allegany and State of New York deceased that the said Will was duly executed and that the said Alanson Kenyon the said Testator at the time he executed the same was in all respects competent to devise real and personal estate and was not under any restraint. The said last Will of the said deceased with the proofs and examinations taken therein are herewith duly signed, certified and recorded in this Office pursuant to the provisions of the revised Statute of the State of New York this 3d day of March 1876.
