That is to say; first, I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid by my executors, herein after named, within a convenient time after my decease; Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Susannah one Horse, two Cows, four Sheep and three feather beds and bedding to be taken at her election of such as I shall have at the time of my decease; I also give to my said wife all my household furniture. I also give to my said wife so much of my hay at the time of my decease as shall be necessary to keep such horse, cows and sheep until the next haying time. I also give to my said wife one half of the grain either on hand or growing at the time of my decease, and also one half the hogs and one half of the pork on hand; Item I give and bequeath unto my son Luther my waggon; Item I give devise and bequeath unto my son Calvin his heirs and assigns all and singular my Lands and tenements situate Lying and being in the town of Chenango aforesaid, subject however to the payment of the following legacies, to wit to my son Benjamin two hundred and fifty dollars, the one half thereof in one year after my decease and the other one half part thereof in one year thereafter. To my sons Edmund and Levi the sum of twenty five dollars each the one half thereof in one year after my decease and the other half in one year thereafter. To my daughters Lydia, Amy and Milley each one cow. Item I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my personal property to my son Calvin and I hereby appoint my sons Luther and Calvin executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern send greeting; Know ye that at the Town of Chenango in the county of Broome on the tenth day of May on the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven before Eleazar Dana Esquire Surrogate of our said County of Broome the last will and testament of John Sawtell deceased ( a copy of which is hereunto annexed) was proved and is now approved and allowed of by us and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death goods chattels and credits within this State by means whereof the proving and registering the said will and the granting Administration of all and singular the said Goods Chattels and Credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us. The administration of all and singular the said Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased and any way concerning his Will is granted unto Luther Sawtell and Calvin Sawtell executors in the said Will named they being first duly sworn well and faithfully to Administer the same and to make and to exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods Chattels and Credits and also to render a just and true account when thereunto required.
