I Rowland Davis considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory (blessed be Almighty God for the same) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Polly Davis all the household furniture consisting of one set of Windsor Chairs, one set of common kitchen chairs two Tables two five pail Kittles one three pail Kittle one Large Brass Kettle and one small brass Kettle one Chest one Clock two beds with their proper and convenient covering for winter and summer, together with the convenient table furniture one Large Bible one Looking Glass, four cows twenty five sheep Eight young Hogs & the small wagon. Second I give unto my oldest son Luther Eight acres of Land next adjoining him off from Lot No. 27 Nanticoke Township. Third, I give unto my youngest son Ira the remainder of Lot No. 27 containing fifty six acres more or less. Fourth, I give unto my second son Timothy fourteen acres of land out of lot No. 63, it being the piece deeded to me by A Courtright the same on which Timothy now lives, and further he shall have on his paying the taxes thereon the use and improvement of the part of No. 27 now in his enclosure until the year one thousand Eight hundred and forty together with one yoke of Oxen and one cow now in his possession. Fifth I give unto my third son Francis the farm on which I now live being Lot No. 49 Nanticoke township subject to the following stipulations, First that he shall provide for sustain and support his mother from the time of my decease during the course of her natural life, 2. that he shall pay unto Wealthy Bancroft the sum of thirty dollars, unto Lucretia Roberts the sum of thirty dollars, unto Betsey Howard the sum of thirty dollars, unto Mary Lathier the sum of thirty dollars, unto Lucy Davis the sum of sixty dollars, And I further give unto Francis One yoke of Oxen and one two year old colt and the Ox wagon and such farming tools as I may posses on the premises at the time of my decease; and I hereby appoint Eph’m Gibson and Oliver Russell my Executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In witness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal the twenty second day of November In the year One thousand eight hundred and thirty two. [signature] Rowland Davis In presence of Eph’m H. Gibson Oliver Russell Broome County Surrogate Court In the matter of proving the last Will and testament of Rowland Davis dec’d Ephraim H. Gibson of Union in the county of Broome being first duly sworn deporeth & saith that he saw Rowland Davis deceased subscribe this instrument now shown to him this deponent and which purports to be the last will and testament of the said Rowland Davis deceased bearing the date the twenty second day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred thirty two, that he heard the said deceased declare the same to be his last will and testament and that he the deponent did subscribe his name as a witness thereto at the request of the said deceased and further that at the time thereof the said Rowland Davis was of sound mind & memory of full age and not under restraint. [signature] Ephraim H. Gibson Sworn & subscribed this 28th day of February 1833 before me [signature] Geo. Park Surrogate.
