To my son Simeon LITCHFIELD, I give and bequeath the Sum of Five Dollars To my son, Levi LITCHFIELD, I give and Bequeath the Sum of Five Dollars. To my daughter Marville (sic) RIGGS, I give and bequeath the Sum of Five Dollars, if called for. To my daughter, Melenza RIGGS, I give and bequeath the Sum of Five Dollars. To my daughter Polly VAUGHN, I give and bequeath the Sum of Five Dollars. To my own and beloved mother, Delight HAYDEN, I give and bequeath her Support/: as heretofore:/ during her natural life. To my four daughters, namely, Jemima LITCHFIELD, Harriett (sic) LITCHFIELD, Emeline LITCHFIELD, and Laura LITCHFIELD, I give and bequeath a home with their own mother/: as long as they remain unmarried. To my sons Ensign B. LITCHFIELD, I give after his own mother Molly LITCHFIELD's decease, all the remaining estate of mine to have and to hold/: both the Real and Personal: /for himself and his heirs for ever. SHANKLAND, Surrogate of Said County, to have been duly executed by the Said Ensign LITCHFIELD was in all aspects competent to divide Real Estate, and not under any restraint whatever. (On the left side are two very large initials, which are as tall as the lines that are on the right side of the page. SHANKLAND, Surrogate State of New York Cattaraugus Surrogate Court} Be it remembered that on the fourteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one, the within (sic) instrument of writing bequeathing personal property was legally found in Said Court before Mr. Robert H. SHANKLAND, Surrogate of Said County to have been duly executed by the within named Ensign LITCHFIELD, deceased and was then and there admitted to probate.
