NY, Vol. 10 page 221 Diana Aldrich of Conewango will probated: 4 Nov 1886 executor: Hartwell B. Aldrich witnesses: Chas. C. Thacher and Richd. J. Coates will dated: 11 Aug 1884 The last will and testament of Diana Aldrich of the town of Conewango County of Cattaraugus and state of New York. I, Diana Aldrich being of sound mind and memory, aware of the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, and desirous of making an equitable and proper disposition of my property at my decease, I do make, ordain publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say - First - after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged I give and bequeath unto my two daughters all of my wearing apparel of whatsoever name or nature to be equally divided between them. Second - I give and bequeath unto said daughter Pearley A. Whitford and Kate A. Aldrich all my household furniture which I bought including carpets curtains & except my sopha rocking chair which I give to my husband to be equally divided between them. Third - I give and bequeath to my daughter Kate all silver wear belonging to me. Fourth - I give and bequeath unto my four children Pearley A. Whitford, Hartwell B. Aldrich, Abner A. Aldrich and Kate A. Aldrich a certain bond and mortgage executed by Abner A. Aldrich & wife to me or so much of said mortgage as remains due or unpaid to be equaly divided between them share and share alike. Fifth- I give and bequeath my interest in the house and lot on which we now live to my husband Harris Aldrich to have hold use and occupy rents and profts during his natural life and after my death and the death of my husband I direct my executor out of the sale of my interest in said house and lot to reain and pay to my daughter Kate A. one hundred dollars and the sum of twenty five dollars each to my three grandchildren Estella D. Aldrich, Emma A. Aldrich & Stanley C. Aldrich children of Abner A. Aldrich to be held and used as their uncle Hartwell B. Aldrich may deem best and proper for either their support or education but the house and lot is not to be sold for the purpose of paying these last legacies or the payment made untill the best interes of all will be promoted thereby. Lastly - after my death and the death of my husband Harris I direct that each of my sons have one bead stead pillows and sufficient beding and the remainder go to my two daughters. Likewise I make constitute and appoint my son Hartwell B. Aldrich to be executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the 11 day of August in the year of our Lord and thousand eight hundred and eight-four Diana Aldrich L.S. The foregoing instrument was at the date thereof subscribed by the testator therein named, in the presence of us and each of us , she at the time of making such subscription acknowledged that she executed the same and declared the said instrument so subscribed by her to be her last will and testament.
