In the name of God Amen.
I, Charles Carpenter of Napoli, NY being of sound mind and memory, and 
considering the uncertainty of frail and transistory life, do therefore make, 
ordain publish and declare this to be my last will and testament that is to
say:

First - After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged.  I give and bequeth
unto my wife Harriet A. and to my son Arthur D. Carpenter all of the property
of which I may die siizid(sp?) both real and personal, share and share alike.

Likewise, I make, constitute and appoint my said wife and son to be executors
of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me
made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and I  affixed my seal
the 12th day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty eight.

The above written instrument was subscribed by the said Charles Carpenter in
our presence and acknoledged by him to each of us; and he at the same time 
declared the above instrument so subscribed to be his last will and testament: 
and we, at his request have signed our names as witnesses hereto in his
presence and in the presence of each other, and written opposite our names our
respective places of residences.

Charles Carpenter was born 15 Nov 1830 in Chautauqua Co, NY, and died 20 Nov 
1888 in Napoli, Cattaraugus Co., NY.  He is buried in the East Randolph
Cemetery in East Randolph, Catt., NY.
The will was hand written, and recorded at a Surrogate's Court in Little
Valley, Catt. NY, signed by Surrogate Alfred Spring.
