Vol. 16 page 61. Harris ALDRICH of Conewango Will probate: 24 February 1898 executor: Hartwell B. Aldrich will dated: 25 Dec 1894 witnesses: John A. Watson & W. F. Gardner Last Will and Testament I, Harris Aldrich of the town of Conewango County of Cattaraugus and State of New York, do make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, in manner and form follwoing, that is to say: First.- I direct the payment of my just debts, if any. Second.- To my grand-daughter Estelle D. Aldrich I give my bedstead, bed and sufficient bedding, and bed-room furniture. To my daughter Kate A. Aldrich I give my unabridged Websters Dictionary, family Bible, washing machine and all washing apparatus, oil stove, parlor stove and pipe and all my stove furniture, also all my bedding and household furniture, not otherwise disposedof my myself or by gift or will of my wife. I also give her four hundred and fifty dollars, to be paid by my executor within four years after my death provided it can be paid out of my estate, without the sale of my farm or dairy in Busti. In case it can not be so paid, my executor is to allow her 5% on all sums unpaid at that time. This bequest is given to my daughter Kate and to be received by her, in lieu of any charges, for labor or otherwise, she may have against me or my estate. I give and bequeath to my son Hartwell B. Aldrich the sum of Five Hundred Dollars, in trust, nevertheless, for the following purposes, to wit:- to keep or invest the same and pay to my son Abner A. Aldrich 5% interest, on all unpaid balances, for and during the term of his natural life. My son Hartwell as such trustee shall have full power and authority, to apply any part or all, of the said principal sum of Five Hundred Dollars to the support and maintenance, in case of sickness or need, of my son Abner, and upon the decease of my son Abner, my son Hartwell shall have full power, to distribute any part, that may remain of said Five Hundred Dollars to said Abner's children, as in his judgement their necessities may require. All my remaining property, both real and personal I give and bequeath to my son Hartwell B. Aldrich. Said Hartwell shall furnish my daughter Kate a cow, if she goes to keeping house and needs one and has a place to keep it. Likewise, I make, constitute and appoint Hartwell B. Aldrich to be my executor of this, my last Will and Testament, here by revoking all former wills by me made. In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the 25th day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four. Harris Aldrich L.S. The above partly written and parily printed instrument was subscribed by the said Harris Aldrich in our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us; and he as the same time declared the above instrument so subscribed by him to be his last Will and Testament; and we, at his request, sign our names as attesting witnesses hereto, in his presence, and in the presence of each other, and write opposite our names our respective places of residence.
