Culver, late of the town of Ledyard in the County of Cayuga deceased, a minor under the age of twenty-one years, and who was fourteen years of age on the twenty first day of November last past, hath by her petition presented to John Porter Esquire, out surrogate for our County of Cayuga, represented that she is entitled to certain real and personal estate particularly specified in said petition, that he has no testamentary Guardian; That he now resides in the town of Ledyard in the county of Cayuga; and that it is necessary that some proper person should be appointed Guardian to her, the said minor; and in and by the said petition the said minor did pray that you might be appointed said Guardian: And we being desirous that the person and property of the said minor should be well and faithfully managed, do allow you the said David White to be Guardian to thy said minor (you having given the bond required by law) and do grant unto you by these presents full power and authority, to take proper and diligent care of the said minor person, education, estate and interest of every kind for the profit and benefit of the said minor, until she shall arrive at the age of twenty one years, or until your said Guardianship shall be legally annulled. And you the said David White are in all things to discharge the duties of a Guardian to the said minor according to the laws of this state; and to render a true account of your Guardianship when thereinto lawfully required. In testimony whereof, we have caused the seal of the office of our said surrogate to be hereunto affixed.
