Between John Fisher and Julia Fisher his wife, of the Town of Scipio in the County of Cayuga and State of New York, of the first part, and Mary Ward of the same town of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said parties of the first part, in consideration of the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100) to them duly paid have sold and by these presents do grant and convey to the said party of the second part her heirs and assigns. All that tract or parcel of land situate in the Town of Scipio, County of Cayuga, and State of New York, being part of lot number 14, in said town, bounded and described as follows. Beginning at the intersection of the centers of the north and south and east and west highways, and running thence north 16' west along the center of the highway, four (4) chains and fifty two (52) links, thence north two (2) chains, and fifty seven (57) links, thence south 79§ last to the center of the north and south highway, and thence south one (1) chain and ninety five (95) links, to the place of beginning, containing one acre. With the appurtenances, and all the estate, title and interest therein of the said part of the first part. And the said John Fisher party of the first part, does hereby covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part, her heirs and assigns, and that the premises thus conveyed in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part: her heirs and assigns, he will forever warrant and defend against any person whomsoever lawfully claiming the same, or any part thereof, as witness whereof, the parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written, John (his X mark) Fisher L.S. Julia (her X mark) Fisher, L.S. Sealed and delivered in presence of State of New York, County of Cayuga, Town of Scipio, ss. On this 31 day of March in the year one thousand eight hundred and eight seven, before me, the subscriber, personally appeared. John Fisher and Julia Fisher, to me personally known to be the same persons described in and who executed the within instrument and acknowledged that they executed the same. Moved to Cayuga Co., NY from England (1852)and lived there until they died.
