Newspaper death notice (1901) of 
Mary Elizabeth Yawger Hawley-

                        A Good Woman Gone.
It was with surprise and deep regret that the many friends 
of Mrs. Elizabeth Yawger Hawley, heard of her sudden 
death Sunday afternoon, May 19th.  Friday afternoon of 
the previous week she had a stroke of paralysis which 
left her in an almost unconscious condition, a second 
stroke occurring Saturday night from which she did not rally.

Three sons, four daughters and a step son, Andrew Hawley 
of Moravia, are deprived of a loving and tender mother.  Her 
children were all present at the time of her decease, and 
ministered unto her so far as possible.  Her husband, 
William N. Hawley, departed this life about sixteen years 
ago and the care and responsibility of rearing her family 
fell to this faithful wife and mother.  How well she did her 
work is vouched for by the esteem in which they are held 
in the communities where they now reside.

The funeral was held at her late residence, Barber's Corners, 
Wednesday afternoon of this week and was largely attended 
by friends and relatives.  Rev. W. J. Pasko, of Scotia, conducted 
the services and interment was by the side of her late husband 
in Oak Grove (sb-Oak Ridge) Cemetery.
