Ward, Moravia, NY. Funeral services at 2:30 O'clock, Thursday afternoon January 28, 1932, at Evergreen Cemetery, Scipioville, NY. _________ The Genoa Tribune, Friday 1/29/1932 John Ward, 76 years old, of Scipioville passed away at the home of his son, William J. Ward in Moravia, Tuesday morning, January 26. Mr. Ward's boyhood was spent at Barbers Corners where he went to school. He always has farmed in the vicinity of Scipioville and his home at the time of his death was with his daughter, Miss Myra Ward. Mr. Ward was the overseer of the poor in Scipio for twelve years. He had been in poor health for the past few months following an operation. Mr. Ward was survived by four daughters, Miss Myra Ward and Mrs. May White of Scipioville; Mrs. Belle Sherman of Levanna and Mrs Grace Mosher of Fleming; two sons, William J. Ward of Moravia and Alden D. Ward of Auburn; a sister, Mrs. Rose Wells of Auburn; a brother, Zacharia Ward of Throop; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at the home of Miss Myra Ward, Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Mr. Haberle, a great personal friend of Mr. Ward and Rev. Casper Gregory officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Additional Comments: John's Parents-William Ward (1820-1902) & Mary Ann Blackwell (1828-1902) John's wife-Maria C. Titus(1858-1937). Maria's parents-Samuel Titus & Lodema Tobias
