Secondly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth the sum of one hundred & twenty five dollars, a part of which sum being already advanced as appears on receipts.- Thirdly, I give & bequeath to my son Daniel the sum of one hundred dollars with what he has had or received already. Fourthly, I give & bequeath to my other sons all excepting Russell who has received his portion on the above division of property already, the sum of one hundred dollars each as they severally arrive at age. Fifthly, I give & bequeath to my daughters Phebe & Aurellia each the sum of Fifty dollars, a part of which sums has already been advanced as appears by receipt.- Sixthly, I give & bequeath to each of my younger & remaining daughters the sum of fifty dollars as they severally arrive at full age provided in all cases that the Executors have sufficient time for paying the several heirs without making any undue sacrifice of property. Seventhly, I hereby give & bequeath to my wife Gitty the one third of all my estate real & personal during her natural life to be at her whole use benefit & behast, the rest of the estate equally to be divided among all the heirs severally a full and equal division when the youngest heir is at full age provided further that my said wife Gitty hold and retain all the household furniture during her natural life. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand & seal this the tenth day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty nine. Additional Comments: Edward U. Graves is listed in the capacity of foreman of the Office of the Albany Evening Journal who published the notice. In the petition to appoint a general guardian for the minor children, a man by the name of Henry Whitbeek, the children of Reuben Doty are listed as follows: Daniel; Mary; Betsey w/o Asa A. Spencer; Aurelia w/o Joseph Stockwell; all of Troy, Geauga Co, Ohio; Phebe w/o Warren T. Rude (Rudd?) of Granville, Licking, Ohio; Russell of Cohocton, Steuben, NY; Rana M.; Annis w/o George Post; Hepzebeth; Clement; Maria G.; Lucy; Cathaline; Reuben T.; and William Henry.
