Will of Thomas Coleman

[Divided into paragraphs for readability, the original will was all one
paragraph in will book.]

In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Coleman of the town of Victory in the County
of Cayuga in the State of New York being mindful of my mortality do make and
publish this my last will and testament in the manner following: that is to
say.

First I give & bequeath to my step son Ransom Megraw the sum of five dollars.

Second I give & bequeath to my step daughter Flava Knapp wife of Zadoch Knapp
the sum of five dollars.

Third I give & bequeath to my step daughter Fanny Scott wife of Charles Y.
Scott the sum of five dollars.

Fourth I give & bequeath to my son Samuel the sum of five dollars.

Fifth I give & bequeath to my son Charles the sum of five dollars.

Sixth I give & bequeath to my son Loren P. the sum of five dollars.

Seventh I give & bequeath to my daughter Pleadus Laberteaux wife of James
Laberteaux the sum of five dollars.

Eighth I give & bequeath to my daughter Clarissa Cramer wife of Heman Cramer
the sum of five dollars.

Ninth I give & bequeath to my daughter Betsy the sum of five dollars.

which said money [?] legacies or same of money I will to be paid to the said
respective legatees within one year of my decease.

Tenth I give & bequeath to my youngest son Ashbel his heirs or assigns the
farm on which I now reside it being seventy five acres of land

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this third day of April
in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine.

The written instrument consisting of the half sheet was at the date thereof
subscribed by the testator Thomas Coleman in the presence of each of us, and
was at the same time declared by him to be his last will and testament and we
at his request sign our names thereto as attesting witnesses.

I hereby certify that the preceding, is a true record of the proceedings proof
& examinations taken before me in the matter of the proof of probate of the
last will & testament of Thomas Coleman late of Victory in the County of
Cayuga deceased as a will of real and personal estates and also of said will
and that the same was recorded on the fifteenth day of July in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four
