Died at Pomfret, Chautauqua County, N. Y., Feb. 2, 1851. Grave in Fredonia Cemetery. Enlisted at East Hartford, Conn., with Connecticut troops and was at the battle of Rhode Island, West Chester County, Springfield, N. J., Jamestown, Va., and was present at the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown. He married Sarah Cadwell March 23, 1784. She was born 1764 and died June 21, 1840. He is mentioned in the Pension List of 1840. Veniah Fox, (1763-1851), served as private and sergeant. In 1818 he was allowed a pension for service in the Connecticut line. He was body guard to Lafayette in 1825 when he visited Fredonia He was born in New Hartford, Conn.; died in Pomfret, N. Y.
