All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ny/nyfiles.htm *********************************************************************** Source:SAMPUBCO photocopy Chautauqua co NY Will Book Vol. 6 page 294 Written: 9 June 1875 Probated: 29 Aug 1877 In the name of God Amen: I Freeman Cobb of the Town of Gerry in the County of Chautauqua and State of New York being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament that is to say: First, After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, I give and bequeath to my wife Rebecca Cobb, the full, free, and sole use and control of my farm of sixty acres on which I now reside, it being the northeast part of Lot No. Eighteen (18) in the Town of Gerry aforesaid for and during her natural life if she survives me. Second, I will, give and devise to my daughter Mahala Cobb, the full , free and sole use and control of the same farm from and after the demise of my said wife Rebecca if she survives her and during the remainder of her natural life. Third, I give and bequeath unto my said wife Rebecca, the full and free use and control of all my Personal Property and effects of whatsoever manner or nature during her life and after her decease, I give and bequeath the full and free use of said Personal Property to my daughter Mahala Cobb during the remainder of her natural life. Lastly, I give, devise and bequeath to my son Grant Cobb all the remainder of my estate of whatsoever manner or nature, after fulfilling and satisfying the above bequests, including the said farm of sixty acres with full and free use of same after decease of both the above named legatees forever, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the Ninth day of June in the year of our Lord, one thousand and eight hundred and seventy five. Freeman Cobb, L. S. The above written instrument was subscribed by the said Freeman Cobb in our presence, and acknowledged by him to each of us; and he at the same time declared the above instrument so subscribed to be his last Will and Testament, and we at his request have signed our names as witnesses hereto in his presence, and in the presence of each other and written opposite our names our respective places of residence.
