Vol. 8 page 348 ALDRICH, Scott of Pomfret will dated: 6 June 1874 will probated: 23 November 1885 I, Scott Aldrich of Pomfret in the county of Chautauqua and State of New York aged seventy three years, considering the uncertainty of life, and being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish and eclarir this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following that is to say: 1st My Executors hereinafter named, are hereby directed and required to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses out of my estate. 2nd I give, devise and bequeath to my children, Amos, Mason, Seth, Ira, Ann, Mary, David, George, Nathan, Eliza, Martha, Maria, Simon and Sayles and to their respective heirs and assigns forever all the rest residue and remainder of my property and estate both real and personal, those that are not living at the time of my decease leaving a child or children to take the share that the parent would have had if he or she had been living, equally between them, if more than one, do his or their heirs and assigns forever. 3rd The devise of any real estate in the next preceding clause of this will is subject to the Dower right of my wife Lydia A. in all the real estate whereof I shall die seized. 4th I hereby nominate and appoint my sons Seth Aldrich and George Aldrich to be the Executors of this my last Will and Testament, and they or the survivor of them shall have forever and authority to sell and convey my part or all of my real estate at such time or times and on such terms as to them or the survivor of them shall seem meet and proper, and they or the survivor of them shall have the further from and authority to extinguish the Dower right of my said wife in any form or all of my real estate in such manner and on such terms to them or the survivor of them shal seem meet and propper and to charge the expenses thereof against my personal estate or otherwise in their discretion or in the discretion of the survivor of them. In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 6 day of June A.D. 1874. The foregoing instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date thereof subscribed by Scott Aldrich the Testator therein named, in our presents, and was at the same time declared by him, to be his last Will and Testament, and we at his request, and in his presents, have subscribed our names hereto as witnesses.
