Peter lived at home until 1830, when he married Miss Betsy Ann Webb, daughter of Jesse Webb, of Danville, New York. His father gave him fifty acres of land, on which he lived until 1837, when he sold and moved to Turnersvile and purchased a farm, on which he still lives. He held the office of Justice of the Peace tour years in New York and ten years in West Shenango. He was Postmaster at Doty's Corners, New York, three years, and has been School Director nine years.
