Service, Wagon Conductor App. for Pension Aug 8, 1758 Res. at date of app. Coventry, Chenango Co, NY Sarah Parker declares that she is the widow of Jotham Parker, who enlisted at Norfolk, Conn. in 1775 and served with the Connecticut Troops (officers and length of service not stated). In 1776 he enlisted and served three or four years until 1781 as a wagon master under Capt. Titus Watson, General Huntington's Brigade. He was in the battles of Ticonderoga, Crown Point, St. Johns and Fort Montgomery. She was married to Jotham Parker Dec 30, 1779 at Norfolk Conn. Her maiden name was Sarah Seward. Jun 1, 1800 Jotham Parker died Jul 19, 1815, in his 60th year at Coventry, NY. Sarah Seward Parker died Nov 15, 1847 at Coventry, NY and the following children survive her: Hannah Beardslee, formerly Mrs. Loveland of NY Sally Mather of Binghamton, NY Emily P., wife of Joseph R. Merwin [sic] of Woodbury, CT. Aug 26, 1837, Jotham Parker, aged 41 years, declares that he is a son of Jotham Parker, who died Jul 19, 1815, and left deponent's mother and widow. She now lives with deponent. Apr 12, 1837, Silas Seward of Sandford, Broome County, NY, aged 77 years, declares that he was a fifer during the Revolutionary War and is a U.S. pensioner under the Act of Congress passed Mar 18, 1818, declares that he was present when his sister, Sarah, married Jotham Parker, and that deponent's brother, Stephen Steward [sic] was a teamster under said Jotham Parker during the Revolutionary War. Oct 25, 1841, Levi Parker (no relationship stated) of Coventry, NY, was born in Cheshire, New Haven County, Conn., Mar 19, 1767, and lived near Jotham Parker. About the commencement of the Revolutionary War said Jotham and his father (no name given) moved from Cheshire to Norfolk, Litchfield County, Conn., where Jotham was married to Sarah Seward in 1779. This deponent's father (no name stated) was killed in the Revolutionary War at New Haven, Jul 5, 1779, by a ball shot froom the enemy earlier. In the summer Jotham was at deponent's father's house and was a that time a Captain of Teams, or Wagon Master. After said death, Jotham Parker, with his wife, Sarah, visited deponent's mother in the winter of 1779, etc. Jul 26, 1852, Emily P. Mervin, wife of Joseph R. Mervin, declares that she is a daughter of Jotham and Sarah Parker, etc. Jul 14, 1838, John Thomas of Colebrook, Conn., aged 76 years, declares that he enlisted in 1776 and served as a private in Capt. Joseph Walker's Company, Gen. Huntington's Brigade, etc. Jul 16, 1838, Davis Orvis of Colebrook, Conn., aged 91 years, on Jan 15, 1838, declares that he enlisted 1776 and served as a private in Capt.
