Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. McNITT receive Congratulations of Friends. Mr. and Mrs. George W. McNitt of 47 Fair St., were pleasantly surprised Thursday evening when 28 friends and relatives gathered at the McNitt home to celebrate the couple's 58th wedding anniversary. The evening was greatly enjoyed by all who attended. Several played cards, while others spent the evening talking over "old times." A delightful lunch was served, after which the entire company of friends extended congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. McNitt on their anniversary. Mr. McNitt will be 82 years of age on July 1st, while Mrs. McNitt was 80 last December 18th. Eliza HOLCOMB and George W. McNITT were united in marriage by the Rev. Ward, pastor of the Oxford Baptist Church, February 21st, 1877. The ceremony occurred at the Holcomb homestead at Webbs Corner, near Lyon Brook. Out of Town relatives who attended the anniversary party Thursday night included Dr. Harold W. McNitt, Miss Ruth McNitt and Mrs. John Fern, all of whom motored to Norwich from Binghamton.
