She had been in poor health for some time, her ambitious disposition and energetic nature, however, sustaining her well toward the end of life. Deceased was born in Pharsalia July 6, 1843 and was the youngest child of Alvah and Abigail Crandall, strudy and respected people. In November 1862, she was married to Alexander Totman and came to Norwich the following March to reside. One child a son, Frank, was born of this union Feb. 28, 1864, who died, however, seven months afterward. Mrs. Totman was a very active, ambitious woman in her earlier years. She took great interest in whatsoever appealed to her as worthy of effort. She became an active member of the Broad Street Methodist church, where she will be greatly missed. She was also much interested In her home and family. She was a good wife and a good neighbor and had a graet many friends. Deceased is survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs. Louis Schermerhorn of Cortland and Mrs. Laura Pike of McDonough; two brothers Jason Crandall of Truxton and George W. Crandall of McDonough. There are also two nieces Mrs. Homer Brown and Mrs. Charles Cleveland, both of Norwich. Funeral services will be held from the home at 2 p.m. today. Rev. Wilson Treible officiating. Death has entered the family of Noyes Brown twice in three months, and taken away the father and mother. Noyes Brown was born on the hill sixty-four years and three months ago, in a log house near the house in which he had lived, where he has spent his life except since his wife's death, he has spent most of his time at his son’s, where he died May 30th. Thirty-eight years ago he was married to Manetta Breed of Pharsalia Hook. Six children were born to them, two of which have preceded them to the grave. Those living are Mrs. John Law, Mrs. Arthur Smith, Miss Leona and Ira, all of Pharsalia. Of late Mr. Brown had been confined to his room. Saturday he was as well as usual. About 4 p.m. Mrs. Brown went into the room and he asked for his son who was not at home. About 4:30 p.m. his son came and went into the room. A change had taken place, Mr. Brown was unconscious. He regained consciousness so as to recognize those about him. He died about 5:30 p.m., cause due to apoplexy. The funeral was held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at his old home. Rev. Pershing officiating. Interment at Pharsalia Center.
