Aldrich of North Norwich probated 25 Jan 1892 John W. Church, Esq. appointed special guardian for Vila Aldrich, a minor. I, Augustus C. Aldrich of North Norwich, Chenango County, New York, being of sound mind and memory do make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, that is to say: First. After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, I give, devise andbequeath unto my wife Sarah A. Aldrich one thousand dollars and all of my household furniture. Second. I direct my executrix and executor herienafter named, to pay to my said wife the sum of one hundred dollars each year during her life, for her own life, and the further sum of one of one hundred dollars annually to my said wife in trust to be byer expended for the support, maintenance and education of my granddaughter Viola Aldrich each and every year during her minority and upon her attaining the age of twenty one years, I direct my executrix and executor to pay my said granddaughter the sum of two thousand dollars, and to insure the payment of each of said legacies to my wife and granddaughter, I make the same a lien and charge upon my home farm where I now reside until they shall be fully paid, giving to my executrix and executor the power to sell and convey said farm, if necessary to pay said legacies, in, whole or in part, such bequests to my wife are in lieu of dower, and all statutory provisions for the benefit of widows, that may be in force at the time of my death. Third. I give, devise and bequeath the remainder of my property, real and personal to my son Asa Aldrich and to his heirs and assigns forever. Likewise, I make constitute and appoint my wife Sarah A. Aldrich executrix and my son Asa Aldrich to be executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the 28th day of July in the year one thousand eight hundred and ninety. Augustus C. Aldrich (LS) witnesses: Franklin D Porce, residing at Norwich, N.Y. W. F. Jenks, residing at Norwich, N.Y. I, Augustus C. Aldrich of North Norwich, N.Y. make this codicil to my last Will and Testament whcih was dated July 28, 1890. I cancel and revoke so much of the second oclause of my will as directs my executrix and executor to pay to my wife the sum of one hundred dollars, each year during her life, for her own use, and in lieu thereof I give and bequeath to her a certain bond and mortgage given by Israel Kenyon to me to secure the payment of the sum of twelve hundred dollars.
